My wife and I have worked with Grant Remodeling on many projects over the last 12 years. These projects included extensive bathroom and kitchen remodeling. John Grant and his team were always on time, within budget and utilized excellent craftsmanship. John is an expert and a true professional. The quality of his work is unsurpassed and Grant Remodeling is the only company we will ever use in the future.

After communicating to John that I would be open to accommodating his busy schedule if we come to an agreement on the price for the list of items I needed taken care of, I sent him over all the information he requested so he can quote me a price. He communicated that he would get back to me with a quote, and when I followed up after this communication, his response to me was that he can't accommodate my "immediate timetable". He was basically no longer interested in the project for one reason or another, but he did not communicate this at the beginning and basically wasted valuable time I could've used to find other professionals that could get the job completed.

This was a great experience. John was quick to respond to the message I sent through Angie's List. He asked clarifying questions, offered possible solutions, and gave me options of how and when I could contact him. When he came to look at the light and other items on my list, he was on-time and professional. He asked questions and was patient with all of mine. After a couple weeks I was ready to have the door fixed and reached back out to him. Again, he was quick to respond and patient with my many questions. He and his brother came yesterday to fix the door and do additional electrical work. They were on time (which is important to me) and focused on quality by taking care of even the small details. John also did a couple extra unexpected things while working on my electrical problems. This was my first time hiring someone for this type of work and I am really pleased with the experience. John was great. Did what he said what he was going to do and then exceeded expectations. An honest, dependable professional who took pride in his work. He and his brother had a very broad knowledge/experience base to be able to handle any household fix I threw at them. Did a craftsman-esque job in a short amount of time. Couldn't ask for anything more. Definitely will hire again. Recommended!

They put down tarps and put up plastic sheets to keep the area clean. They had to cut open a ceiling with rough plaster. They were able to complete the rewiring, repair the ceiling with sheetrock and plaster, and completely clean up the area both at the lower end of their time estimate and at the lower end of the cost estimate. Their work was efficient, professional, and better than I anticipated.

After a Friday night phone call, John was able to fit my job into his Saturday. This is the most responsive and timely Handyman I have ever encountered! Service within one day, unheard of. He arrived with a sump pump that his experience told him would be the correct size. He had to install the pump in a very short crawl space, I'm sure it is a workman's nightmare. The job was complete in a short amount off time, he was very pleasant and courteous . I will call him again and recommend him to friends.

I began an effort to replace a failing dishwasher. Upon removing the old dishwasher I found that the people who had installed it had incorrectly tied the dishwasher wiring into the circuit used for the electric oven. I contacted Grant Remodeling for help to resolve the wiring issue. John stopped by the house the same afternoon to determine what needed to be done. The next day he and his brother arrived promptly as scheduled and added a dedicated circuit, wiring and outlet for my new dishwasher. Beyond that they completed the dishwasher installation for me, including the wiring, water and drainpipe connections and even helped with leveling the equipment. One additional note, during the effort, while turning off the water supply John detected a gas leak on the water heater. He fixed the leak while his brother continued to work on the dishwasher installation. I was more than satisfied with the work performed by John and his brother and look forward to hiring Grant Remodeling the next time I need help.

Couldn't have gone better. Within one week, John & his crew removed a second floor railing, added a wall, doorway, & closet. This involved wallpaper removal, sheet rock work, electrical work, & painting.

We were in a time crunch, with a project putting up solar panels on our steep roof. John was open to the idea, and adjusted his schedule to meet our time needs so we could get the project done on schedule. he called me the day before to verify the time (8 AM) and place. He and his crew was on site and ready to go at 7:45. They worked well together, and performed the tasks asked, It took longer than we expected, but John held to his original bid. The project got finished that day, no injuries, no broken parts, no damage, and all cleaned up afterwards! Excellent work. Grant Remodelling will be called first on our next project.

We told John that since he advertises that Angie's List customers get either "same or next day service", this is false advertising and is not true. We suggested that he not advertise this because it is false. We understand someone being very busy, but we don't understand how John Grant can give false promises by telling us that he will get back to us or make an appointment and not show up or even call.

Fast, friendly, and very knowledgeable. John was able to work with our tight time frame (next day service) and get the job done very quickly (and well). In addition to the main job, he also fixed a couple of other problems for us, and had some great advice on other questions we had. He took our situation into account to determine proper solutions, rather than focusing on a one-size fits all solution. John was pleasure to work with – we highly recommend him and would use him again in a heartbeat.

They had to undo work done by a previous person. I bought a card from Menards so that they could go an purchase materials as needed. Because of special order item, it took a little longer to finish.

I have used John several times and each time have been extremely pleased with the services I received. I have an upper-end home and expect the work I have done to match the quality of my home. John's work does that. I originally used John to replace a kitchen sink and faucet with a new granite sink/faucet that I had ordered on my own. First off, John went out of his way to pick up the sink/faucet once they arrived at the supplier and arrived at my home at the time he had given me. It was not the easiest install as he had to cut granite tile to fit the sink. He was there all day and although I believe I owed him more than the range he quoted me, he accepted what he had originally quoted me. That has never happened to me with contractors before! He was extremely clean and meticulous and very much aware that he was in someone's home - drop cloths around the work area, using his own trash container, keeping the work area as clean as possible, etc. He even changed the way the faucet handle works to allow for better left-handed operation! Of the other times I used John they were also for plumbing issues - one being an emergency. I had a new washer delivered and installed and during the install a connection broke where the the cold water hose connects to the cold water supply. I had to turn the water off to the whole house and pray that John (or someone else) could come quickly at 4:30 in the afternoon. John was able to come within the hour after stopping to pick up a part. He charged me $100 for a job I know would have cost me 2-3 times more with another contractor. I highly recommend John for any home repair or remodel and will continue to use him for my other projects.

I found John completely by accident. I was trying to finish a bathroom project, that I was managing myself, by hiring my own subcontractors. I was having issues finding and buying (2) glass shower door enclosures. I was referred to by a friend of mine to a local distributor that might have the shower door enclosure that I was looking for. They did and I special ordered (2) sets, 1 for each bathroom. I asked the distributor to recommend someone to install them. He recommended John. I contacted John directly and he agreed to pick the doors up and come to my house and install them. He gave me a reasonable price and we agreed on a date and time for install. John arrived on time and in less than 2 hours had installed both of them. In a conversation with John, I asked him to tell me more about his business. Turns out he runs a very successful small contracting business and said that his competitive advantage was his superior workmanship and high level of service. I learned that he was just doing this for me, and taking a break from a luch larger remodeling project, as a means to gain further referral business. I appreciate hard working people who build their business by doing quality work and building a referral network of happy customers. I will assume that John provides his same high level of service for his much larger remodels. The best part of my experience was that during the install, John noticed a defect in one of the enclosures. He called the distributor, who promptly ordered a new replacement enclosure, but neither the distributor or the manufacturer would pay for the re-installation. John returned and expected to do the install work for no additional payment, he meant what he said about "superior service". I paid him anyway and will call him to bid on a couple of upcoming projects. I would recommend considering John and Grant Remodeling for your next project.
