Northwest Camera & Video Repair

I called the proprietor on Friday, April 5, and made an appointment for Monday Morning, April 8, for some time after 10. Gus, the proprietor, assured me he would be in by 10 AM. I drove 20 miles from Forest Lake to Lindstrom to bring him my camera. The door was locked, and he was not answering his phone. I left a message expressing my disappointment. A 40 mile round trip, a wasted morning, a completely unprofessional business.

I took my cannon rebel eos 30d digital camera in to have the sensor cleaned. The flash also needed cleaning as some sticky (suspect gatorade) had spilled on the camera and the flash would not pop up. They also cleaned and checked the cameras functions. When I had called and spoke to the individual that answered the phone I told her that I was leaving in a few weeks to go on vacation. She would not guarantee that the camera would be done by then. When I dropped the camera off I spoke directly to the gentleman who was going to be working on the camera. I wish I could remember his name; he was the nicest guy. He told me that the sensor cleaning was a 24 hour turn around time; it would take a little longer for the flash. He told me he was leaving for a long weekend as he was helping his daughter move across country. He also told me he would have my camera done before I left for my trip. The lady called me on October 17th and told me the camera was ready for pickup. My situation had changed - I was not longer heading out of town on vacation. I told her I was out of town and in the process of driving back to the cities; my mother had just entered a hospice program and I needed to pack and was heading out of town again in the morning. I knew I could not get there before they closed and was wondering how early they opened in the morning. I basically just told her my mother was dying and she said "whatever, we open x:xx". I am really grateful that the technician worked to get my camera done ahead of their normal turn around time as I was able to use the camera to take family photos and the last photos of my mother.
