"I personally went out and bid this move and took a very good look at what they had to move. While I was there I noticed they were already well ahead of the game as they were moving packed boxes to the upper level. I told them it was nice to see such a proactive customer especially being that they were not moving for quite some time. They had said they were like that and that they were going to keep at it and be very prepared. I bid the job for 2 full sized moving trucks and 4 movers, I felt in my honest and professional opinion that would work fine. In fact only the rarest of moves garners 3 trucks and those are some very large estate style homes. The member home was a standard two level, 3 to 4 bedroom home with a pretty full basement. While there, we looked into the garage and the customer said only a few things were going there. On move day the customers were not there until quite a bit later in the day, they had parent(s) there to manage. This is typical but can cause some issues with them not being the ones there when the estimate was done. If the members were there at the onset, we would have likely had a different outcome at day’s end, being that we would have been working through the bumps directly with him as we went along. We loaded up two trucks very full and there was a few things not fitting into the trucks, so we said we would have to make another trip back with a smaller crew and a truck. The move was across town and a second trip would put the move well over estimate. As all of our moves, we simply move on an hourly system, an hourly rate is set and I estimate the job to take X amount of hours based on the walk through. This is very well stated in the estimate. We were very up front with the parents as the day went along...letting them know that it will likely require an additional trip due to the additional items in the garage and the level of preparation. At some point (later in the day) the customer rented a U-Haul to grab the final items. It seemed as if they expected it and they were fine doing so…since we had offered to come back and all. At this time it getting a U Haul was mutually fine as they understood that they were not as far along with all of their preparation and that there surprisingly was a load of lumber and sheet rock that had appeared in the garage...quite a bit of it. This was new since the estimate. It was more than enough to create a 3rd trip. We wrapped up the job to a satisfied customer and felt we put the same very courteous, efficient and honest service on the table as always. It was not known that the customer was as upset or discouraged as the Angie’s List report would show...otherwise we would have worked through the situation with them. We feel we deserve the opportunity to correct or at least try to correct any problems before a report is filed. We highly respect our reputation with Angie's List and feel in this case we were not given a fair shake to satisfy the overall move and customer. Our other reports will show what Quality Transfer truly means to our customers and the first class service we provide. Nothing was sacrificed in this move, in fact, we feel as if we did all we could to bill it accordingly as well as estimate it properly. We were on time, nothing was damaged, no breaks were taken but lunch and we worked very hard. Not to forget, this customer got a very low rate; simply because of the logistics of the move...we were trying to accommodate them in their longer move and tried to lessen the blow with us being on the road so much. So we lowered the rate substantially. I honestly feel that I bid the job correctly and fairly."
"WOW! WHAT KIND WORDS...IT IS ALWAYS SO NICE TO HEAR BACK FROM OUR CUSTOMERS...ESPECIALLY THOSE WHO FOUND US AT ANGIE'S LIST. THIS PARTICULAR CUSTOMER'S COMMENTS ARE THE KIND WE STRIVE FOR AND WHEN WE HIT THOSE GOALS WE HAVE ACCOMPLISHED WHAT WE HAVE SET OUT TO DO. BEING THAT WE ARE FAMILY OWNED WE FEEL WE ARE ABLE TO OFFER THE FINEST SERVICES, ATTENTION TO DETAIL AND CUSTOMER SATISFACTION LIKE NO OTHER. THESE COMMENTS ARE VERY FLATTERING...AND ALTHOUGH WE HEAR THEM OFTEN, THEY MEAN THE WORLD TO US!!! THANKS TO WONDERFUL CUSTOMERS LIKE THIS ONE, WE HAVE BEEN ABLE TO STAND TALL IN THE MOVING AND STORAGE INDUSTRY!!! BLUSHING, NICK F QUALITY TRANSFER, INC."
