AA Painting

Don and the entire team of 3 additional workers were superb to work with. Don made sure he completely understood the scope and quirks of our project AND provided an accurate estimate. He was consistently timely with communication and responses to any of my inquiries. The team of three with Don's assistance worked for two days to complete our project. Other contractors who worked solo were giving us time estimates of 6+ days. As we wanted to keep a tight timeline to reduce our time without our kitchen, we found this team approach was perfect. In addition, when they needed to finish up a final coat of ceiling paint they offered to come back after dinner so that the next day contractor would not be impeded. They were all professional, neat, and did superb prep work. We had a large between room wood door frame with damage, that they did a fabulous job of filling - with paint it looks brand new again. They also took care of some ceiling water damage and areas that were problems on 1941 cabinets, again not show after painting. They prepped and painted a multi pane window above the sink (with water damage) beautifully. I would highly recommend them!

Don was very responsive to our request for a bid. He had good suggestions about the finish we were looking for and great suggestions when we were discussing colors. Don and his crew were here when they said they would be and they finished when they said they would. The took great care to protect surfaces that weren't to be painted (hardwood flooring and front window) and covered furniture that had to stay in the room. The finished job was everything we had hoped for! We would hire Don and crew again anytime!

Don and his team just finished painting the entire interior of a house we just bought. From the initial visit to the clean up, everything met or exceeded our expectations. We were very pleased with the services performed. It was a 3 day job, the painting crew was on time each day, they moved our furniture and carefully covered the work area. They did a great job patching the flaws in the walls prior to painting and were very detailed with the job done. The crew was very respectful of our home and we felt they completed our job as they would if it were their home. I would not hesitate to call upon AA Painting again for future painting needs.

I was very impressed with AA Painting. Don met me at the house to walk through what I wanted done. He asked many questions to make sure he understood what I needed, and had great suggestions for little details I had not thought of. I expressed desire to have both exterior and interior completed before Thanksgiving, and he worked with me on a schedule to make that happen. After dates were scheduled, the crew (two man team) arrived on time and were very professional and courteous. They worked on the exterior first - power washing the house and deck, staining the deck, then painting the house exterior and trim. The interior was scheduled a week or so later. They did an excellent job prepping - they covered all furniture and floors, carefully removed the artwork, removed "popcorn ceiling" from a few areas, and filled holes/gouges in the walls. The interior walls painted were kitchen, mudroom, family room, foyer, two hallways and stairwell. I had selected two colors (primary and accent), and they executed perfectly. Once finished, they cleaned everything up and put all the furniture and artwork back in place. Don came back periodically to check on progress and then did a walkthrough after to make sure I was completely satisfied. I have owned this home for 20 years and have worked with multiple painting companies in that time. This was by far the best experience I have had. I highly recommend AA Painting.

I found Don's company on Angie's List, I called him and he came out in a couple of days to give me a bid. I chose Don because he was able to help me move furniture, take down /and put valances back up, and get me on his schedule relatively soon, 3-4 weeks. Don and his crew were very punctual, hard working with no wasted time, and efficient, completing the whole job in only 1 1/2 days. Pretty amazing, I think. I am so pleased with the job they did. The walls look like they are "new"! Wish I could include a picture!

Their work was awesome! Timely, punctual, thorough and high quality. Our 80 year old house has been transformed from "yuck" to "Wow!"

After sending a message to inquire about painting services, I received a very prompt return call and Don was able to schedule an estimate the same day. He was very responsive through email as we were deciding about which rooms to be painted and offered an updated estimate. Once we decided to go forward with the project, He was able to schedule the project within a week. Don and his crew worked efficiently on the day of the project and cleaned up very thoroughly when they were complete. We were very pleased with the quality of work and they appeared to pay attention to detail. I would definitely use AA Painting for future projects!

Donn and his team did an excellent job on our project. The group arrived daily on time and preformed the job to perfection. The ceiling far exceeded my expectations. The paint and trim is outstanding. We also had the floors stained and Donn and his team came back and retouched all the trim work. He went up and beyond expectations. We would hire AA painting again!

Everything went well they were very easy to work with and the best price of all the estimates I got.

I'm certain AA Painting would have done an outstanding job but we had one other bid, a bit less, that we ultimately went with.

Estimate
The owner Don Shin was very prompt in coming over to look at the property and emailed an estimate which was very reasonable and of the lowest. After inspecting he mentioned that staining would be better than painting and a single coat would suffice.  Some of the other estimates were very high. 

Timing
We contacted him in middle to late May and wanted the work to be done before end of June.  He could give us the date the week of June 20th.  Given the changing weather conditions, he juggled his schedule to accommodate us even earlier and got it done the week before.  Thankful for his flexibility.

Staining of Siding, Trim and Garage Door Painting (2 days)
The crew of 4 took 2 days to finish the job.  1-2 people did the prep work (covering of windows, plants, caulking, scraping).  one person was doing the painting (staining) of siding (Spray followed by roller, brush).  The fourth person was doing the trim.  They were very efficient and mindful of the weather and were there from 8-8.30 until evening. On the scraped areas where bare wood was exposed, they did 2 coats.  Overall I am very happy with the quality of work done.

They also painted the garage door along with the trim.

One some parts of siding where just a small piece of wood was not rotted, they replaced it with epoxy as the whole siding board was not required to be replaced.  Only one siding board needed full replacement.

Deck Staining
After power washing, the crew came and did the deck staining (floor, railings, steps) and did a great job.

Clean Up
There was no paint spills anywhere and the crew cleaned up nicely after the work

Additional work
Don and his crew replaced one rotted siding board and replaced it (charged extra as per our agreement), painted the main entry way trim, replaced the weather stripping on the garage door trim (for a reasonable cost). 
Additionally he also cut and removed trimmed a few trees (branches close to the siding) to allow better view of the house for no charge.

Overall Experience
The overall experience was great.  Timing worked out great for us as it needed to be done in short notice (within a month).  There were no hidden costs.

Don and his crew did an amazing job.  They were prompt, professional, friendly, and responsive to all our questions and requests.  Their attention to detail was extraordinary.  They caulked everything so you can't see any seams or imperfections in the woodwork.  People who told me, "you can't paint oak" told me that they were proven wrong after looking at our woodwork.  It is smooth and beautiful.  And not a single drop of paint was left on our floors, furniture, etc.  You can hardly tell it is popcorn ceiling now because it is so fresh and clean looking!  And best of all, we changed our minds about the wall color after one coat had been applied, on Friday at 4pm, and he let us run to the paint store, get a new color, and then worked until 6pm putting the new color on the wall.  We couldn't be more impressed with Don and his team and would recommend them to anyone.  Thank you, Don!

He came out to provide an estimate for the job. I never received an estimate or returned call.

I called him on a Tues. and most of the work was done by Thurs. He fit me in right away when I told him I had a tight schedule. He did such a good job I had him come back to do two more room areas. His ceiling repairs were excellent and much better than painters I'd hired for another ceiling a couple months earlier. His popcorn repair was so good that you couldn't tell that a a piece of ceiling had been removed to access pipes. He even touched up a couple room ceilings without charge. He was punctual, great to work with, cleaned up afterward and put dropcloths down everywhere needed. I'd definitely recommend him to others.

Don evaluated the overall condition of the deck and gave me very detailed advise on what to use to stain my deck. Don and his team are truly professionals. They are very responsive and punctuate. They are efficient and detailed-orientated. They prepared and stain the whole deck and fixed the bad boards. We are very happy with their work and will definitely use them in the future!
