Aurora Asphalt & Concrete

Ron was very nice during the estimate. He explained that I did not need to replace my entire driveway as the asphalt (other than the apron) was in good shape. He recommended that I just replace the apron and gave me the option of replacing the front walk or having it mudjacked. We chose to replace the front walk for aesthetic reasons. Details were a little vague about when the job would be completed as he was in the process of doing several estimates in my area and he wanted to coordinate the jobs. Once the work was started it was completed in the amount of time originally estimated and the work was done very professionally and looks great!. Ron is great to work with!

Ron and his crews ripped out the sunken asphalt in front of the garage, put in a new concrete apron and re-sealed the driveway. The work was excellent, communication was outstanding and the crews were personable and professional. Couldn't ask for better work.

Called saying they were going to be in the neighborhood and could they come the next day. They cleaned and edged driveway, applied the coating and left. Very prompt and efficient.

Bought the service on Angie's List Big Deal for $100 and assumed that was for an average driveway. They must have known there was some confusion because the company sent out an e-mail before the job was scheduled explaining that the price only covered 500 square feet and most driveways were at least double that and they would charge additional for anything over 500 square feet.. It did state that in the offer but it was not obvious. I felt deceived and it ended up costing me 2/1/2 times what I paid for the Big Deal for an average size driveway. I could of had the job done for $150.00 by another firm but instead of saving $50.00 using Angie's List Big Deal it ended up costing me $250.00. The offer was "$99 for Driveway Asphalt Seal Coating!". To me this means that would be the cost to do an average driveway but it wasn't . I feel Angie's List is also responsible for allowing the deceptive wording in the ad as they should make sure all ads are clear and easily understood.

Contacted Aurora regarding getting an estimate. Ron returned my call quickly and made arrangements to meet. Ron showed up on time the day agreed upon. Cost was reasonable and actually less than I had expected. Ron was up front that they were quite busy and that it would be a few weeks before they could schedule the job to be done. Since I wasn't in a hurry, that was fine. A few weeks later I received a call with a date that they could start the work if it fit my schedule. It did, so on the agreed upon date, Ron and his crew showed up and started the work. The work went as expected without any issues A few weeks prior, my neighbor had essentially the same work done by somebody other than Aurora. I'm not sure about the cost, but I can say that I believe the quality of the job that Aurora did was much better. Two things stand out: 1) Aurora used rebar to tie the new apron and sidewalk to the existing concrete (garage floor and front step). This way, there can be no sagging or separation. 2) Since the downspout for the garage is next to the sidewalk, Ron ran flex piping under the sidewalk to a pop-up head on the other side of the sidewalk. Prior to that, the downspout emptied directly on the sidewalk and iced up the sidewalk in the winter after snowfalls. Neither of these two things was done on by the contractor (not Aurora) on my neighbor's job. They are back to having the downspout empty on to their sidewalk (and because of Aurora, mine now goes under my sidewalk and empties away from it). I would have hated to have all that work done only to have to deal with the ice again. Thanks to Aurora's work, I won't have to deal with it! Overall, it was a great experience and will be contacting Aurora again, probably next summer, to replace our driveway (wasn't in the budget for this year).

I emailed back and forth with the owner of the company after purchasing a deal to have my driveway sealed. He sent many lengthy emails saying why he could not come out to do the work. I feel he spent more time giving excuses that it would have taken to get the job done. I ended up having to ask for a refund from Angie's List as I was sick of the excuses.

The work occurred later than estimated due to large demand for the Angie's List deal. Once work began, the crew completed the work quickly, well ahead of their estimated time. They were friendly and professional, and their work looks great.

I purchased this service through one of Angie's Big Deals. The company acknowledged receipt of my purchase within 1 day and told me that they would be in contact with me to schedule a time. The company also sent an email explaining that the response to the Angie's Big Deal was large so they would be scheduling by neighborhood. I appreciated receiving an update to the initial email. The second email also explained the services in more detail and reiterated what had been in the fine print on the Angie's Big Deal. I rec'd another email a couple of weeks later with my scheduled date and asked me to confirm. The crew arrived on the day scheduled and performed the service as described. My driveway is in pretty rough shape, but I thought that the service that they performed did a lot to improve its appearance and buy me a little more time until I have to replace it. The cracks were filled and the driveway was edged as promised. I was not home the day the work was performed, but my neighbor told me that the crew spent a lot of time on my driveway which I appreciated. The final product looks very nice and I was very pleased with the service as well as the price. I could not have done nearly as nice of a job on my own. The company was very pleasant to work with and I appreciated the communications from them regarding scheduling and pricing.

From the beginning to the end, this was a very good experience. The communication from Aurora was timely and courteous. When the appointment set up the crew arrived on the dot and finished the job quickly and totally. The end result is great. I would highly recommend Aurora to anyone needing asphalt work.

I purchased the Asphalt treatment BIG DEAL for $99. Once the guys were there they said that the drive was much larger and had to charge me $100.00 for the remainder of the adjoining drive. Begrudgingly, I wrote the check. They did do a fantastic job and where very neat and tidy about edges and the like. The problem wasn't with the workmanship. The problem is with Angie's List offering a service that is planned to cost the homeowner more money. The deal was specifically planned to make it impossible to cover an entire drive way. I had no idea just how large my drive was in square feet, that is on me. That stated, I'm not sure that I will use this service again if it doesn't last more than one season. I saw no guarantee on the offer or on the website. IJS people. Deal plainly and you'll have repeat business. Deal shady and get no

July 10 first day they said they would come out and do the work. Their quote was for 1,000 sq ft of coating. My driveway is bigger than that and they quoted me a price which was fine with me. My appointment kept on getting pushed back and they kept increasing the price. Decided to get a refund.

Job well done. They did an especially good job edging the driveway before sealcoating. I gave them a B for price because right after the work was done, I got a call from someone we've used in the past offering to do the job for $50 less.

I purchased their service through angie's list "big deal" event of $99 to seal your drive way thinking of getting good value. Big mistake. The $99 is for first 500sf only. How many of you have drive way for 500sf? I guess it's typical switch and bait tactics. My drive way is an average size around 1000sf and they bill me for the total of more than $250. They sealed fall leaves into my drive way and I have to manually remove those. Edge is messy and several bushes are partially covered by tar. You can get better service with the price for sure.

Quality material and application. Edges near concrete and structure were done accurately with very little if any spillover. There was a misunderstanding about the additional charge above the "Big Deal" price at time of application. Issue was resolved quickly by the foreman in a return trip to the house. Arranging the date was easy and the crew was punctual.

The entire Aurora Team was 5*****. Great communication; quick response, provided ALL details. Installation; detailed, clean, tidy. Would definitely use again. Thanks so much.

Kevin was very quick to respond to review the service with me. In addition I asked for two other estimates Kevin's crew completed the Asphalt service quickly and it was a great job. His crew cleaned up very well and the yard was not damaged. I plan to use Kevin in the future

They came early and tore out the crumbling asphalt and removed the sinking sidewalk and prepared the areas for the concrete. A few hours later another crew came with a cement truck and everything was poured and leveled beautifully. The crews were professional and worked hard. The sidewalk and driveway look great and we are very happy with the whole process. Would call them again.

Saw the ad on Angie's List and set followed the process from the ad. A time was set up and they were on time on the correct day. The quality isn't as good as I have had in the past from other companies, as described previously. Recently on Angie's List I saw another add for the same service for $99.00. I don't know if this is because it was later in the sealing season.

Ron at aurora asphalt was great at communicating and being flexible as far as the application date. Driveway looked great upon completion. I have a fairly long driveway and the crew did a great job of sweeping the mulch on the edge of the driveway back to seal-coat to the very edge (not everyone has done that in the past). Since my driveway is fairly long there was a bit of an extra charge due to the extra square footage but I believe it was reasonable. I would use them again for seal-coating and have entered into a contract with them for some concrete work later this month (late Sept 2012)

I was disappointed. The holes and cracks are not filled. The edging wasn't done.

They did a good job, but I could have had it done for cheaper.
