Aurora Asphalt & Concrete

I called them to schedule, so they didn't' reach out to me to schedule it, then they couldn't do it on the original day because of the weather, they rescheduled it to an acceptable day, and did the job fine. When they measured it, it was 2 or 3 feet bigger than what was allowed on the big deal, but they decided not to charge more. I did not have huge expectations, as it was not a difficult job. The price of the big deal was perfectly acceptable. I had the same service done before and had paid more. I cannot evaluate the quality at this time, until after winter, and we find out how much water got underneath the driveway. When they scheduled it, they were punctual in calling me when they couldn't do it because of the weather, and they came on time, on the day they could do the work. The job seemed to have been done in an effective way.

It turned out to be a beautiful job and we had no complaints with it.

Went very well, they were punctual, they did a good job; unfortunately I had about twice as much driveway as you can do for their special price, so I had to pay all that extra - about twice as much.

They loved the work and said they did a little more then they were supose to and only charged $20 more then the BD purchase. They were happy with their purchase.

Removed existing asphalt garage apron and replaced with 6' wide new concrete apron. They did a good job. Pricing was good. We had a short few weather delay due to the cold, but they got it done. It looks good.

Sealcoated driveway. Arrived when scheduled and did a professional job. Satisfied.

We have pretty small driveway but the square footage covered in this vendors deal still required an additional charges. I could have went out and negotiated a better price on my own so the deal was not a deal. Job was done ok, but nothing to write home about, I fill the cracks better on my own than this vendor did.

They coated the long driveway. They had to reschedule and said it would be within the next few days but a date was not set. Then they showed up one day. That's why a B instead of an A. The job was well done, but it's a good thing we were home to move the car off the driveway the day they showed up.

The two workers showed up when their scheduler said they would. They were both acted professionally. The lead person measured the driveway and calculated the overage. He said that they would bill me for the added extra cost because my driveway is larger than the special pricing allowed for. It took them about an hour and a half to clean and seal the driveway. I would definitely would use them again and recommend them to others. The added bonus to having this done is that the snow seems to not stick to the sealer and it's easier to shovel.

This has become the project from h***. Based on Angie's List high ratings, we selected Aurora. On review, we see that they are really good at seal-coating and small jobs with a coupon. Not so on larger concrete work. First, after agreeing that a permit was needed for the garage work, it wasn't obtained. Later, when asked, they claimed that "John" said they didn't need one. This was not true. The reality was that they are unlicensed, and thus couldn't get a permit. The floor didn't slope correctly, and attempts to resolve the resulting puddle made it worse. Failure to put aggregate under the new floor is now causing water to rise through the cracks that have already occurred. Damage to the footing on one wall combined with missing rebar weakened the whole structure. Although we went to court and got the money back, it will cost more to repair the damage and replace the floor than it originally cost. As spring came, we noticed "popoffs" in the driveway. Aurora's response was that this was a terrible winter, popoffs occur, and they are not warrantied. All that is true, but the number (dozens), size (some are 2"), and depth (up to 3/8") are far greater than normal. A neighbor's driveway done around the same time has only a few, none bigger than 1/2 inch. Contractors who came to estimate the garage floor rework were mystified by the driveway, one saying he had never seen popoffs that bad. Aurora has been quick to justify all the corner-cutting as somehow "better", minimizing or exaggerating facts to fit, and inventing facts as needed. What hurts is that we saved for 15 years to get this work done, and are now saving again to get it redone. The driveway, which we went over budget on in order to get concrete instead of blacktop, is now an embarrassment. I would strongly recommend documenting issues and questions so there is a mutual understanding - photographs are a good idea. We would have been helpless without them in court.

I purchased the Big Deal with Aurora Asphalt & Concrete.

Very good service. They came in the morning to pull out the old sidewalk and the crumbling asphalt, leveled it and prepared it for the cement. They came back the same day and put down the cement. Very professional, friendly and the cement looks great. Had them come back to do the driveway seal coating. Again, very happy with the service and the product. Will use them again.

That was fine. I do not remember. It was a few days from my purchase of the deal. Flight may more square footage. I would give them probably a B for overall impression. It is very limited. I got the one they are finishing out and real come a check. They find me act in professional manner. .

I think they were competent, timely, and well priced. They were better priced than another quote that I got from another recommended company.

I was contacted promptly to schedule service after purchasing the coupon, and we arranged to have the work done while I was not at home. I arrived home and the driveway looked great; however, I discovered the Invisible Fence wire had been cut during the work. This was a Friday evening, so I left a message for them, assuming I would hear back on Monday. To my surprise, Ron called me back that night, at 8:00pm on a Friday! He said he would his guys back to fix it, and early Saturday morning, they were here repairing the wire. They knocked on my door when they were done, apologizing that they had accidentally hit the wire when staking the driveway off. They stayed while I hooked the alarm back up and tested it, and made sure I was happy with everything before they left. They were very nice, and I was very impressed that they took care of the problem so quickly! I would hire them again just for the great work they did on my driveway, and even more so knowing that if a mistake were made, they can be counted on to make it right!!

Everything went smooth as scheduled. Everyone showed up at the time they were scheduled for and did a good job on laying down concrete on my driveway as well as the patio in the back. I will strongly recommend them to anyone.

Good job, on time and as explained. The price was right even for additional work beyond initially agreed scope of work. I will surely recommend to my friends and will not hesitate to work with him in the future

They called ahead to give us the window of days in which to expect them, and then again to say which day when the time got closer. They were very professional on the phone. We weren't home the day of the service, but it was done neatly and there wasn't anything we needed to clean up after the fact. My only concern is that there had been an oil spot that I had cleaned, but was still lingering, on the driveway and after about a week it showed up through the seal coat. I guess I was hoping they would've put something on it to seal the oil spot so it wouldn't show through. (Perhaps that's not possible? Or not a part of the service I payed for? I'm not certain.) Overall we are happy with the service.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It turned out very well. I think they did a very good job for me and I was really very appreciative. I was very pleased with the service. I just paid the Big Deal price of $223. They did a very good job. The price was marvelous. I thought it was very good. The quality was excellent. They were very responsive. I was very pleased. I called even on a Saturday about the problem with the first coating and they responded right away even on a Saturday so that was very, very good. They were right on time, they were there when they said they were going to be, and they were very professional all the way. The people I dealt with over the phone were extremely professional.

Seal coated my driveway--someone showed in the morning and cleaned the driveway off. 6 hours later towards dark someone came and seal coated the drive. By this last spring (5 months later) over 50% of the coating was gone |As of this fall, there is no coating left.

Responsive. They kept me informed on when they were coming and how long it would take. It rained unexpectedly on the driveway after the first seal and it washed away. They proactively came back. The driveway looks great!
