Handyman Services
Everything went well. The old ceiling fan had melted the bulb in one of the bedrooms. We had removed the old fan and hoped to do the installation ourselves but realized it was beyond what we were comfortable with. I contacted Handyman Matters and they were able to come out in a few days. The ceiling fans were both installed well and work great. He even took the time to explain how to re seat the fans if our kids knocked them with something.
The toilet seat bolt was a bit harder. We thought that might be pretty easy for someone who knew what they were doing, but the bolt was so badly stripped and rusted it had to be sawed off. I could tell that wasn't fun, but he got it done and we were able to purchase and install a new bolt pretty easily.
I appreciated that Mike explained that it was cheaper if we purchased some of the additional brackets that might be needed and gave us that option.
I will definitely be calling Handyman Matters again.

Called company to schedule quote on a variety of projects - inside and out including painting, drywall repair/replacement, sand/restain bay window shelf, damage to soffit/fascia due to storm damage, window replacement, etc. Receptionist inquired whether there was roofing damage. I indicated only 1 shingle was bent and primary jobs were unrelated to the roof. She stated "you'd probably be better off contacting a company who does roofing and siding repairs". She didn't even listen to the job list. My first contact with a company on Angie's List - pretty disappointing.

Handyman Services, Gutter Repair and Replacement
We had used Handyman Matters once before and were extremely pleased with the level of service we received. So, I called this November to see if I could still get my gutters clean even though it was pretty late in the year (a couple of days before it snowed). I was told that he had a man out doing some gutters at that very moment and when the man returned he'd see if the he was able to do our gutter that day or not, that he would call me back with an answer in an hour or so. A couple hours later I called my husband at home to tell him that I was checking on having Handyman Matters come out and clean the gutters. He told me, yeah I know, they are here right now up on the roof. CAN YOU GET ANY BETTER SERVICE THAN THAT! I DON'T THINK SO. We will definitely use them again. Sandy and Jerry Maki

Overall, the experience was fantastic with this company. The tasks listed were leftover from another job (not related to this company) and we needed these done asap. I called Mike Sitek based on the reviews at AngiesList. Mike was professional, courteous and prompt, and worked with us to schedule the work as soon as possible. Since the first call and the job date, Mike kept me well informed and replied to all of our questions promptly (same day).
Michael G. was the craftsman who came over for the job and was a thorough professional - courteous, patient, answered all our questions and clearly a master at what he does. All of the work was done to a level beyond our satisfaction, Michael left the areas he worked on clean and took a lot of care when working on the doors and the bathroom tile.
I highly recommend this company and we will be calling on them for all of our projects.

Jim arrived early (he called first) and removed his shoes. He took a look at each of the problems and started on the faucet. That was the most critical of our problems because the old faucet had a broken off handle and we'd been using a pliers to turn it on and off for several days. Replacing the faucet turned out to be more difficult than Jim originally thought but did get it replaced and working well. He then moved on to the light switches where he discovered that all his work was for naught. And again, with the light bulb change. He tried several ways to get up that high, but there was no safe way to do it.
Jim spent so much time because of the various problems he encountered, I was afraid the bill was going to be astronomical. But it was extremely reasonable and fair.
All in all, we'd have Jim back in a heartbeat and would highly recommend him, and Handyman Matters of Twin Cities.

Mike was out and took a look first and then sent an estimate 5 days later. Mike had not done this kind of work before, so he needed some time to figure out what would be required to complete the project. He suggested that we purchase Waste Management bagsters for the waste.
The work started roughly a week and a half later. The worker removed the brick and placed in Waste Management Bagsters, one of which was over-filled according to the Waste Management guy who picked them up. We had some brick removed around our chimney and the worker got most of it, however, since we're having new siding put on the house, there was some left after he finished that we had to have removed about a week later.
Overall, working with Mike was a pleasure and although this was a first project of this kind for him, he was careful to make sure it could be done and done well. Would recommend his services to anyone and I'll be using him again.

It's a delight working with Mike. I am looking for a maintenance person and thought the much needed gutter cleaning would be a good trial project. It was done quickly, on the day promised, and with thorough explanations and suggestions. Mike obviously knows what he's doing, and makes the client feel as if they are the only one he's working with. His communication skills are excellent and he responds in a timely manner. My projects have been ones related to the garage/outside area, so I've never been home when they're being done, but I come home to find the area immaculate and the work completed.

The work was started on time and completed on schedule. The worker (John, I think) was professional, polite, and listened to what I wanted to have done. He made several good suggestions on how to accomplish what I needed. He didn't waste time, didn't make an unecessary mess, and cleaned up after himself.

Gave Mike a call to see if he had someone to get heavy snow off of roof and keep gutter clear. He had a guy out right away, he took a load of weighty snow off the roof, and cleaned up the walkway after. A great deal, great attention to customer service, and no problems at all.

Cleaner called ahead for delay, arrived when he said he would, and worked around other contractor that was there. He did his job quickly, cleaned up afterwards, and that was it. No problems, no headaches, and gutters move the water away from the house. And we got a coupon for next service.
