Great. The work started and completed on time and the final price tag was completely in-line with our expectations. The quality of work was top-notch, as we knew it would be.

All the work that Craig did for me went very well. Craig was very professional, he did beautiful work, he completed the work on time and was very responsive when I had concerns about the finish work in one area. My only complaint about Craig was in regards to a project we had agreed to for the future. The job fell through due to Craig's availability, which I could understand, the unfortunate thing was that it was very difficult to get a hold of Craig to find that out. I was even willing to push the start date out to accommodate Craig's schedule (because he does beautiful work) but he never responded to my request. Perhaps Craig was unhappy working with me or maybe he just can't manage communications when he's busy. I don't know but it's very unfortunate because I doubt I will call him again.

We are thrilled with the work done by Craig. He provided good advice at the beginning of the project helping me order cabinets and counter tops. Other contractors thought we could use the old cabinets. Had they taken the time to check the old cabinets, they would have seen that they were built into the wall. Taking them out totally destroyed them. The space between our ceiling and cabinet doors is small. Our ceiling sags a little. Craig advised me to order cabinets with doors that have ample clearance for opening. None of the other contractors thought of this. The quality of his work is beautiful. He treats your place like it was his own home. This guy does all the work himself: carpentry, plumbing, floor laying.

We highly recommend Kron Renovations for several reasons. Owner Craig Kron is seasoned in his business and his workmanship is quality. He partners with reputable, licensed contractors (electric, HVAC, plumbing) to ensure continued quality and that the project is completed timely and work is done correctly. Craig meets and exceeds his client?s expectations.  Some of Craig?s strongest skills are that he?s client focused, results driven, strong problem solver, attention to detail, extremely knowledgeable in his trade, possesses good judgment, is safety conscience and consults with honesty and integrity. He wants you to be a satisfied customer so in a business where things can sometimes go wrong due to unexpected situations, he works with you to resolve. You definitely want to hire Kron Renovations for your next project!  THANK YOU!!

Very professional. Always answers questions immediately. Unlike many contractors Craig gives you what you want ie brands, exact items and vendors you want to use.. Very fair on price and excellent quality of work. I plan on using Craig again in the near future for other projects to include closet enlargement, stair change in garage and steps to present deck. Project also included installing gas heating system.

Do not hire Kron Renovations!  We repeat.  Do not hire Craig Kron!  We hired him because of all his great detailed reviews. We now believe he wrote them himself.  All of them! His organization skills suck. His work ethic sucks. His hours say 8:00 - 5:00 Monday thru Friday. First day he showed up at 9:10 and left at 2:45. 2nd day he showed up at 10:00 and left before noon. He never showed up before 10 or 11 the whole month it took him to remodel our bathroom. He never put in an 8 hour day! He was also a no show the Friday of the first week and didn't even call us to let us know he wasn't showing up. If you ever hire him, make sure he writes a start day, end date, and what hours he will be working right in the contract.
You want details on the job he did for us, you got them. He is a liar. You cannot believe anything that comes out of his mouth. He tells you what he thinks you want to hear. He told us he would start on Thursday, May 9th. We wrote it down. When we hadn't heard from him, we called him Wednesday night to confirm he would be starting the following morning.  He said, "Oh, I thought I said Monday, the 13th." We should have fired him right then and there.
We have the smallest bathroom in the world. Without the shower, it's only 5' x 5'. When he bid, he said it would take 2 weeks to compete out project. Took 4 weeks, (actually over 5 weeks because of the major problems we had with his work. (more about that later) Everyday he would tell us lies. First week said bathroom would be completed by the end of the 2nd week. Lied. Said painting would be done Thursday of 1st week. Lied. Painting didn't start until mid 2nd week. Said we should be able to use our shower by Wednesday of 2nd week. Lied. We couldn't use our shower until 6-2-13. And that's when more problems started. The pitch was off on the shower floor. So much so that we were standing in a big puddle of water because it couldn't drain because of the huge dip in the shower floor.. The pitch was so far off and almost immediately, a big dark stain appeared by the drain. Called Craig. He did not show back up to repair the shower floor until 6/17/13. When he did, he busted up only 3/4 of the floor (not the whole floor?), laid down more tile and regrouted. As you can expect, this did not work. The tile was not sticking to the floor. Tile was starting to rise up on both sides where he busted out the old and laid down the new. When he busted out the old tile, he also cracked one of our wall tiles. I wish so much that I could upload pictures of all the damage he did. There are also cracks appearing on our bathroom floor tile and on both sides of the curb he installed. The guy cannot install showers or floor tile. He built the curb with 2x4's. Code requires concrete. Our curb is also not high enough. We believe the pictures on his website are of his house only.
Craig does not have a "team". It's just him. He has an electrician come in for a couple hours and also a plumber for a few hours. When they were workiing, Craig left. Even though they were only here a few hours, Craig never came back on site. Although Craig said he wasn't working on another project, we believe he was doing another remodel at the same time he was working on ours, or he loves to sleep in everyday.
When we selected our materials, we checked lead times to correspond with his work schedule. We gave him our materials list well in advance of his start date. Longest Lt was 12-14 days. He said our toilet topper was special order and took 30 days to get here. We said Menards told us 12 days. He said Menards is lying to us. We called Menards that same day and they again told us 12 days from manufacturer to store and this item was not a special order. We believe Craig didn't order it in time and just lied to us and blamed Menards.
Craig made 2 18" niches in our shower wall. We said they were too high and asked him to make them smaller. He said yes, but still kept them at 18" and tiled around them and never told us. He still owes us money for the crack in the wall tile that we still need to repair.
It actually took him over 5 weeks total to complete this project on our tiny bathroom. And another week for us to find a qualified tile/shower floor professional to repair Craig's work and finish it. This was our first remodeling project and we had to hire the contractor from h***. We are a very nice couple and was respectful to him when he was here. Our project could have been
completed in 2 weeks had he showed up every day and had he put in 8 hours/day which he never did.
He is a con man. He is not easy to talk to. He is not a people person and does not have a pleasant personality. We never knew what time he would show up. (We had given him a key.) He snuck in and he snuck out. He is very messy, sloppy, and does not own a vacuum cleaner. We had to clean up every day after he left. He never put up plastic to keep the dust from other rooms. When caulking our sink, he didn't notice he dropped large pieces of caulking down our drain. We had to fish it out with tweezers and q-tips before it hardened. We also had to fish out pieces of caulk and grout out of our register hole. He left cement marks on our sidewalk and dumped his murky, dirty water on our plants and lawn.
We made the mistake of not checking out references and asking to see the work of all his "so called" great reviews on Angies List.We can't wait to see what his response will be to this review about him. Of course, he will lie. We would not recommend him and wouldn't even hire him to build us a brick shithouse. Please do not make the same mistake we did. Do not hire Kron Renovations !!!!!!!!

It went well. Craig does excellent work and is very aware of the details. When he puts in a bedroom, he doesn't just add an egress window and a closet - he makes sure the closet has a shelf and clothes rack properly installed.  Those kinds of little details make a big difference.
The project went $2000 over due to some unexpected plumbing problems, however Craig worked with me on some other design swaps to manage the cost increase. The project went 3 weeks over the end date stated in the contract, but much of the delay was due to unexpected problems. With my permission, Craig worked a few weekends at the end to try to get the project back on schedule.
Craig is flexible, low key and easy to work with. that I would use Craig again on a future remodeling project.

The work Kron Renovations did was without question better than we ever could have hoped for.  Not only was Craig extremely fastidious in his workmanship (he is a true perfectionist, you'll see!), but he was very courteous, reliable and easy to get along with.  Rare is it nowadays that somebody does exactly what they say they are going to do, but Craig did exactly what was agreed upon, and without any problems or issues.  His prices are fair, and his workmanship is truly TOP NOTCH.  We will use Kron Renovations for our next home remodel project, and my wife and I would recommend them to anyone (as we already have).

Craig remodeled our basement for us adding a bedroom, closet, 3/4
bathroom and kids cave under our stairwell.  Craig arrived on time for
our first meeting and discussed design specifics with us as we were
evaluating bids.  His eye for design and his competitive price was the
reason we chose Craig and would happily do so again.
Craig made
it a point to be low profile, his own choice, when we were home.  When
not home, I quickly came to trust having him in our house.  He cleaned
up each day and it was always a pleasure to see his work.  When
discussing decisions, he was a great help given his experience and
knowledge.
The project finished on time and according to
schedule.  I took a day to run low voltage speaker and subwoofer cables
for a future sound system.  Our materials were of good quality and he
capably matched our doors and hardware to our specifications.  The kids
cave, he did a terrific job.  The under the stairs area will yield years
of fun and I know it was no small effort.  He added theater lighting
for effect.  The whole project looks great.

Overall: great work, on time, on budget, great follow-up.

Went very well.   We got three bids, Kron was in the middle but within a couple of thousand of the lowest-Kron was very competitive, so we went with Kron because they had better reviews.   They finished on-time and on budget.  The work was very carefully done and all materials used were good quality.    Craig and his subs were very responsive to questions, concerns, and issues.   We already had plans drawn but Craig had a number of useful suggestions- for aesthetics, efficiency, and money-saving.   But even if we came up a decision that meant more work for Craig, he readily agreed and did a great job.    There were 2 problems that came up (every project has problems) I was very pleased with how Craig handled them both.   A miscommunication happened and the wrong ceiling fixtures were installed in the bath room.  It was no one's fault, it just happened.  Craig had to remove the fixtures, drill multiple holes in finished and painted ceiling and walls and then repair the walls, install 2 new fixtures.   He charged us nothing for this extra labor  He said, "I just want you guys to be happy when we're done."  That was his attitude throughout.   One caveat: Craig does a lot of total remodeling, with foreclosed houses-they go in, fix them up, make them nicer, then sell- so he is VERY used to making quick decisions on design/remodeling little issues as they come up; placement of light switches, etc.  You might want to be very careful about communicating your personal choices, especially about little things.  But overall a great experience and I would absolutely use him again.

The entire experience was AWESOME as was the final product.  From our initial contact for a quote all the way to the final walk through, Craig was always extremely punctual, responsive, flexible, thoughtful, and reliable.  The same should be said of his assistant and his sub-contractors.  Craig is very knowledgeable, ethical, and worthy of homeowners' trust.
Craig recognized that we weren't trying to create an underground palace, but we still expected a durable, high quality, safe, and aesthetically pleasing space.  Moreover, we really appreciated his willingness to allow us to do some of the work in the middle of the project ourselves.  Most contractors won't do that (Craig included), and for good reason.  The guys also did a superior job of blending the new construction with the 50 year old 30 ft pine carsiding wall that we did not want to take down.
The basement has been finished for a little over a year at the time of this review and we are still exceedingly pleased with the quality of the work.

We were impressed with Craig from beginning to end. He came out to our house at times that were convenient for us to talk through ideas for what we could do with the basement within our budget. From the beginning, he came across as professional, honest, and straight-forward. He listened to us and understood our style and budget. We went through the contract with him and scheduled our project. We were out of town for the first five days of the project. We couldn't believe how much he already had accomplished when we got home -- plumbing for the bathroom, electrical work throughout the basement, and framing of the walls. Plus, everything was so clean! Things progressed from there. Craig was at our house pretty much every day. We could see daily progress and were impressed at every step along the way. We had to make some changes along the way from what we had initially discussed (e.g., location of heater, size of closet), but Craig was in touch with us about these, and all of the changes made sense and look great. We trust Craig's work and judgment, and are so happy with the result.

He did an awesome job again.  We hired Craig last year to add a bedroom, and move a kitchen and bath around in our home...it turned out so beautiful that we hired him this month to work on a rental property that needed sprucing up.  Craig did a wonderful & quick job, as always.  He's a straight shooter, reasonably priced and does his best to fit you into his schedule quickly.  He's also flexible on things you might like to do yourself to save money (like painting or trim work) which we really like about him.  He was done with our project in a week.  We love Craig and will hire him again...and again...and again.

Honestly, we already miss having them here.  They were so entertaining and know how to give and take.  I want to buy another house just to have them work on it.  They are reasonably priced and were perfectly willing to work around us living in the house and let us do the finish work ourselves.  The only minus was the electrical sub contractor, he nickle and dimed us on every single thing, and Craig was displeased with that as well.  But that may be because I didn't lay out my electrical plans as clearly as I should have.  Overall I'd hire Kron Renovations again in a heartbeat.

Craig and his team made our unliveable basement liveable again. Heavy rains in June 2010 caused our basement to flood. We had torn up the carpet, taken down the walls, removed portions of our suspended ceiling and more. We then installed drain tile, a sump pump, and spray foam insulation. Beyond that, the basement was a torn-apart disaster. Craig worked with us to gauge our desires for the repair and remodel. He offered suggestions for improving the space as well as addressing our concerns and our limited budget. We decided that we would redo the tiny 3/4 bathroom, add a half-wall to separate our laundry room from the rest of the open space, and minorly upgrade the rest of the basement. Ultimately, he and his crew added more lighting, updated outlets, built the half-wall, custom-built a new shower, replaced and vented the bath fan, replaced the bath vanity and toilet, installed a glass block window in the bath, replaced the drop ceiling grid in the bath, laid ceramic tile in the bath, installed new drywall throughout the basement, added additional heating vents, laid vinyl tile, replaced the dryer vent, rehung the drop ceiling grid, painted and trimmed the walls, and installed carpet. The entire project took only about a month to complete. Craig worked diligently and conscientiously. When we ran into an unrelated leak, Craig searched high and low to identify the cause and ensure it would not happen again. When we noticed scuffing on our basement stairs from the drywall delivery, he sanded and refinished them. If we brought a concern to his attention, he patiently found a solution for us within our budget. He went above and beyond his duties as a contractor to help us get our basement back. We would hire him again in a heartbeat for other jobs and would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone else.

Craig at Kron Renovations came out to do the estimate and I was first impressed during our conversation on how he listened to what I wanted and helped me decide what was the best route to go with the remodel.  I myself am a designer by trade and did my research ahead of time to better understand materials and finishes that I wanted in the kitchen.  Craig helped me with options and was upfront with potential issues I may have with things I wanted.  His initial bid was very reasonable but it was his attitude during the estimate process that convinced me to choose him as my contractor out of the 4 others I received estimates from.  The biggest thing I felt was he was forthright and honest with his information and it was evident he cared about his work and the satisfaction of his clients.   You could tell he has done all aspects of the job himself by his knowledge base (not like some of the estimators I had met with from other companies)  this assured me he would be able to tackle anything that was thrown his way.

Once the design was finalized and contract signed, the cabinets were ordered and Craig said it would take 3 weeks to get cabinets in and he would need another week to fit us into his schedule. That was fine.  When the time came to start he was ready to go.

The first day in he and his assistant demo-ed the entire kitchen, reframed and moved the 2 entry ways and cleaned up the new half wall between the kitchen and dining room.  The next 2 days his flooring sub contractor laid the floors and then the cabinets were installed next.  One of the upper cabinets came in a mis-marked box and was not the right color.  Craig had the subcontractor call the cabinet maker and in a day and a half we had a custom built cabinet on our wall.  It did not slow down the process or schedule.

During the installation process Craig would answer any questions we had about the progress, and installation.  Once the cabinets were installed the countertop subcontractor came in and measured.  (i had been to the countertop company earlier and was able to hand pick the slab of granite myself for my counters.) The counters were installed 4 days later.

Craig had his electrician install all new can lights in the ceiling, rewire existing outlets and add several more.  We also wanted a ceiling light installed in one bedroom which the electrician gladly added to his list of things to do.  In the process of doing electrical i lost an outlet that I used quite often in the dining room and the electrician installed another one on the neighboring wall without me even asking.  I am so glad he did.

On the wall that was removed we replaced it with glass cabinetry above (glass on both sides) and counters below.   With the removal of this wall we had to figure out a transition on the ceiling that was now continuous from the kitchen into the dining room.  We have popcorn ceilings and Craig was able to transition the two ceilings perfectly, you cannot even tell where the old wall was.

As the remodel continued we would discuss changes or add ons as we were going, Craig was always willing to do what we wanted as he said, " I want you to not just like your kitchen but love it!"  And he would do anything we wanted to achieve that.  He again was upfront with any additional charges we would incur so we were fully aware of what we were getting into.  Case in point, we had picked a glass backsplash but as the granite counter tops were being installed we found another style we liked better.  Craig told us to purchase it and he would reimburse us the stipend he had allotted in his bid.  Once he installed the backsplash we decided on a white grout but as he was mixing the white we changed the color and he just sealed up the white and brought out the new color.  His flexibility was unreal.  He just kept going back to his saying..."i want you to love your kitchen."

During the entire process Craig made sure his work was done properly, neatly and as requested.  He managed all of his subcontractors incredibly well and they adhered to his strict, high quality standards and it showed.  The cabinet installers were incredible, the electrician efficient and clever, the craftsmanship on the floor installation and poly finishing was impeccable, the painter clean, fast and drip free!

We had a problem with the new fridge being larger than originally expected but Craig reworked the cabinetry to get the fridge in properly and neatly.

Once the kitchen was completed (in 4 weeks to the day, just as he originally told us) Craig had asked us to do a checklist on anything we may not be satisfied with and at the final inspection of the project we could discuss and he would take care of it.  The only thing we had on our list was to seal the backsplash as the original backsplash material did not need a seal and this was something that was not on the original contract.  It was done the next day.

The whole process from start to finish was one of the most exciting and painless remodeling projects we have ever done and that was only because of Craig and his crew.  He did what he said he would do, he did it when he said he would do it and he really took care of us and by his actions, he never let you forget that the client comes first.

When he said he wanted us not to just like our kitchen but to love it...he was not kidding.  We LOVE our kitchen, I am picky and being a designer have some pretty high standards.  Kron Renovations exceeded all of our expectations on virtually every level.  Craig and his crew were great to work with, they were professional but also extremely friendly.  Pride in their work was totally apparent and my kitchen is testament to it.  His pricing was more than fair...actually low, other bids I had for less work than what Kron Renovations did and ranged from $6,000.00-13,000.00 HIGHER!!!!  I know they would have not done as good as job as Kron Renovations because there is not much else you could have done to make my kitchen look any better than it does and I have lots of friends who will attest to that!

I would TOTALLY recommend Kron Renovations for any project you need done at your home, the only reason I wouldn't recommend them would be for totally selfish reasons....they might get too busy and not be able to get me in!!!!!!!!!  All kidding aside, Kron Renovations is a  fantastic company, does incredible work and was amazing to work with!!!!!  You need something done right with no BS....call Craig he will get it done for you!

We hired Craig to finish a 12x15 area of our basement for use as a TV/family room. Craig was easy to work with from start to finish. He was always here exactly when he said he would be, and he kept us in the loop regarding the progress of the project. He estimated that the project would take 3-4 weeks and he was right on time. We were impressed from start to finish! Let's start with the fact that he answers his phone and completed our bid (including getting the subs' bids) in less than one week when all others never returned our calls. (And friends tell us "That's normal...keep calling them back.") Craig is not your typical contractor! He is very technical, organized and a perfectionist! We needed guidance to make the highly customized basement a reality yet keep costs under control. I run a daycare and I'm very sensitive to foul language during my business hours. Craig and his subs were perfect and extremely professional. In fact, they used one of the egress windows as their door as much as possible to keep the upstairs clean and to not interrupt the daycare. We told Craig we didn't have any time constraints but he still worked outside normal business hours to stay on schedule. The basement turned out beautifully! We recommend Kron Renovations to everyone and plan to use him again in the future!

EXCELLENT. We have gone back to Craig Kron and Kron Renovations year after year. His service is impeccable. He works very hard and consistently. Above all, he shows great integrity in his work-- his prices are fair and he completes each job on time or early but with a high level of expertise and quality. I wish I could give you a downside but there is none. We've recommended Craig Kron and Kron Renovations to more than a dozen friends and each has contacted us to say how delighted they have been with the work, both in process and the final product. Another thing I appreciate is how well KR can design along with my ideas. There have been times that my ideas were not feasible but KR worked to suggest a better option without taking over the whole design. My wishes are always respected, even when a color choice is a bit wild! We've done many major renovations and have, in the past, worked with other companies. KR ranks as the top of the list-- always a positive working experience and the product has never failed to delight us. Work ethic, integrity, fair prices -- KR is truly the whole package.
