They have lied to me about what I needed and then wouldn’t give me the money back that they took wrongfully. The customer service person wouldn’t let me speak to anyone higher than them. I don’t want this to happen to other people, especially when I know that there have been other instances in our area where similar situations have taken place with other companies, especially with senior citizens and women.
Description of Work: I was offered a deal with my cable company where you were supposed to get 2 free movie channels with the upgrade on this particular special. When the time limit was up I called to let them know that I no longer wanted to keep these because of the price. They told me that I needed to keep the box that they came out and installed for reception because I had an older television, so I kept the it, however my television is not old. I then found out that this box was not something I had to have and was being charged for it. I returned the box and then figured out that I was overcharged for 29 months. When I called the company they apologized and said that they would credit my bill for these charges. The first bill I got after this I received credit but not the total amount. When I finally was able to speak with someone they told me they would only credit back 6 months and could not give any more than that.

Starting last December a billing error started appearing in our bill. The bill went down and we thought it was a special but just in case we called to verify it was right and they said it was. Then a month ago they came out and cut our service at the pole without notification. A couple days later they came out and offered a higher priced service and accused us of stealing service. We've had them for 3 years. They had a billing error problem, we don't know why the billing went down, they blamed it on the computer. It was an unpleasant experience. For our initial installation they inadvertently severed our phone line which was with a rival company. I think it was an accident but you never know. They argued about paying for it. We'd give the lowest rating to customer service - they were rude on the phone and not helpful at all plus they gave us inaccurate information. The delivery of the cable service isn't that bad. They have a decent product but their customer service people need to go to classes. Their quality of work is uneven. It's a monopoly and the only cable service I have.
