I joined lifetime in November 2012. Impressed with facility and staff. During peak times it gets pretty packed in the free weight area. It is also pretty expensive. Overall I like the place just due to the stuff you can't get other places. It's clean. Nice locker room. And good equipment.

Finally received a phone call from Lifetime after the many attempts of contacting them. They claimed they only had one cancellation on record for me that was effective in January. They would not refund my money because of no prior documentation. One of my many other complaints with Lifetime. Each time I was in their facility to cancel, I requested documentation that I had cancelled my membership. The first time they told me I would receive an email. The second time they said they could not print me anything off because the printer was not working. The third time he claimed I would get an email. None of that ever occurred and because of that I cannot get my money refunded to me. Prior to my cancellations, I had put my membership on hold due to two surgeries I had. There was suppose to be a and quot;medical holdand quot; on my account. I even went as far as having my doctor fax over a note that provided proof that I was physically incapable of using their gym at the time. The next month, I had another charge on my account for $10.73. That continued until I went in to their office to cancel my membership. They then told me that there was nothing on file about my medical hold. No fax from the doctor. Nothing. Now, over a year later, because they cannot provide paperwork to their customers and they cannot honor a verbal or contract agreement, I continue to be out my hard earned money. Kristen at Lifetime told me that my membership is now cancelled and that I could not receive my money back because of their inability to provide documentation that I did request. I asked for the number to their corporate office. I attempted to call them three times and continuously was forwarded to an operating system. I am absolutely fed up and I want my money back. Lifetime does a great job of screwing people over.
Description of Work: I have cancelled my membership numerous times within the past year and I am still being charge a freeze amount of $10.73 9 of the past 12 months. I would like to express my absolute frustration with Lifetime Fitness. I have cancelled my membership over three times in the past year and yet I am still be charged a freeze amount of $10.73. Each time I went in to physically sign off on the cancellation. The reoccurring transfer would stop for a month and then continue back up the following month. The last time I asked and signed for this membership to be cancelled I was promised by one of the managers that this would not happen again and that he would investigate into getting my money back in to me. He never got back with me on the investigation. Now, here I am again. I want this resolved. I want every penny back or I am going to file fraud against Lifetime Fitness. I have counted on my bank statement 9 $10.73 charges over the past year since I have cancelled numerous times. Since my local gym has not cooperated with me or cancelled my membership, I contacted Lifetime in an email through their corporate website. I made three attempts via email and I never hear back from them. They are very unprofessional and have horrible communication. I have not been back to their gym for usage of a membership since May 2011. Now, it is March 2013 and their AWFUL customer service is still as bad as ever and their billing department continues to STEAL money from me. I would like the return of all of my $96.57 back. For the record, everyone I have spoken with has had this same problem with Lifetime. My biggest regret is ever doing business with Lifetime Fitness in the first place!

It is an excellent facility. They take interest in your goals. They have excellent equipment that is neat and clean. They sanitize it quite often. They have wonderful classes and the teachers are excellent. They have nutrition food plans. They send emails to everbody and the manager is an excellent person. It is great for kids.

Overall, my experience with them has been good. The center is most convenient for me, and they have plenty of amenities. It is a nice place, but their prices are high. I would continue to use them in the future.

We like the fitness equipment and the food court at this location. There are enough televisions if you want to watch while using aerobic equipment and the place is well maintained. My daughter also likes that the lockers lock with your ID card so no change to carry. She also enjoys being able to use the exercise class studios when there are no classes, because she is a competition dancer and loves having a practice space. The staff is friendly and helpful. We have not used the spa feature yet, but plan to explore it soon.
Description of Work: We have been members of Crosstown Athletic club for several years and Lifetime fitness bought out this club, so we now have access to their Chanhassen location with our membership. The cost above is family membership for more than 3 people for one year. We get a discount if my husband attends at least 8 days per month from his insurer.

We go many times a week for various activities. During the summer we used the outdoor pool quite often. The child center is wonderful, and my kids usually don't want to leave. I also have my kids in fitness classes and swim classes. Teachers are wonderful, and the kids always look forward to going. Facility is clean and bright and all staff members are friendly and courteous. Lots of equipment, and I have never had to wait to use anything. Monthly dues for family are $117/MO and includes two hours each day for childcare.
