They got here last week, they dropped the ball from the time we ordered it they were supposed to call us but they never did so I finally called them and it was no big deal from our stand point cause we weren't in that big a rush anyway but then the guy was here and he did what he was supposed to do. I probably should have been a little more specific with him because he did what I asked him to do but not quite what I would have wanted but I didn't tell him any different so he can't be held responsible for that.

The job got done, it didn't get done exactly like I would have wanted it to but I said several times already that's much more my fault than theirs but I thought it was prohibitively expensive and I'll pretty much not ever use him again.

Service was excellent. Zach was professional, on time / early - clearly understood my request and quickly formulated a quote. Work looks excellent, professionally installed and he was able to get the electrical work up to code (from a previous owners DIY job). Also did a quick assessment of a second job and gave a less expensive option to fix. Cost for these projects always surprises me, but I am glad to have professional work on this installation and trust it was done appropriately. Will use again for important electrical jobs. I got the deal of $99 for $200 of work. I paid an extra $348 on top of the deal (so I got a $550 job for about $450)

They responded to my emails and questions really fast. They were timely, thorough, and priced just where I would have estimated the work to be priced. I will use them again!

I needed to have this changed before the new stove was installed in a couple of days and thought I could have the ceiling fan in one of the rooms replaced (since they charge a trip fee, I wanted to take advantage of it and they were having a deal for 99.00 ceiling fan installation. Richard installed 2 new outlets and the ceiling fan in just under 3 hours. I believed the price to be reasonable but I didn't have much to compare that to because honestly there is something to be said for piece of mind, and confidence in the person doing this kind of work. I am an Angie's List Member and I contacted Randy's Electric via the Angie's List app on a Sunday and received a quick reply from Courtney ON A SUNDAY! They were able to get me on the schedule very quickly. The service is excellent! Richard was actually the electrician who came back to the house again to help with this project. As a female home owner, I have been subject to some companies (particularly a large local company that "specializes" in HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical) taking advantage of my lack of knowledge or understanding but this is not the case with Randy's. Richard walked through my options, offered suggestions and showed me what he had done when he finished. Great service, great company, you will have a customer for life, because lets face it, my house was built in the 40's- this won't be the first time I need electrical help!

I had been looking for a go to electrician for my electrical needs (I have an old 1940's house that has all outdated 2 prong outlets) but the more immediate need was the ceiling fan that had just died. First let me say I appreciate that Randy's electric responds to Angie's List messaging. I really like this feature and when I am busy during the work day I want to be able send a message quickly and get a reply when I wouldn't be able to normally call anyone if my day was particularly busy. Courtney was super pleasant and flexible with the scheduling as I unfortunately had to reschedule twice. Anyway Richard came out and installed the ceiling fan and did a great job. He was professional and courteous! The only thing I would have done differently is check the web page for deals because I missed out the first time on the 99.00 ceiling fan install deal. Luckily they are back today for more work and I saw the deal in time for that one!

We had a coupon from Angie's list for $25. My wife didn't have the coupon with her and Joe said, "let's use $200 for now". Which is odd because at that time there was no $200 coupon on the internet. He gave her a quote for about $750 to do 7 GFI's. So this was actually a quote for $950. We decided that is too much money and told him to just replace the bathroom GFI's. The new quote was $250 for the 3 bathrooms. Which was actually $450. I had tested the GFI's the week before. The 3 bathrooms were all connect to one GFI that had an open circuit. The only work that was needed was to replace the GFI in the main bathroom. This would have fixed the GFI's for all 3 bathrooms. It took Joe and his assistant about 20 minutes to put in 3 GFI's. My wife presented the $25 coupon and received a bill for $493. The bill was: $59 trip charge (this should not be charged if work is done as per review from 12/3/2016). $153 for each GFI minus $25 for Angie's list coupon. The bill should have been $153 for replacing 1 GFI. This is the only work that was needed. We called Randy's to complain and they had Joe call and said the work order mentioned a $200 coupon. My wife only mentioned having an Angie's List coupon to the dispatcher. Joe also said that the bathrooms were not protected and he protected them. He would not give further explanation about why each bathroom needed it's own GFI. I would not trust hiring Randy's Electric to do any work in the future.

"Hi- I am so sorry for the confusion on the Angie's List coupons. We recently ran a promotion for $99 for $200 through Angie's List. We waive the trip fee for that deal, not the traditional Angie's List $25 off. I know you were talking with our Operations Manager to come up with a resolution. Please let me know if you feel like there is anything else we can do. Thanks, Courtney Lotzer Randy's Electric 763-560-5600"

I was satisfied but electrical is just plain expensive, just him walking through the door, it's just kind of crazy. I got $99 worth of work out of him. They were trying to see if I could get some different kind of lights to go beneath the counter and what they were suggesting for the price was absolutely ridiculous. It was so expensive I never got those lights. I could go to Ikea and get the same thing. I couldn't do that price. They were on time and they called which I appreciated. I didn't have to wait. They brought in catalogs so they can show me different options. I felt confident they knew what they were doing.

The tech indicated he couldn't work on the porch light without extensive re-wiring, so I did not do that. The $200 service call I got for $99 was about right to fix the mast bracket problem. It took the tech longer to get the ladder out from the truck than to attach the brackets. However, when he checked his price list, it showed $174 to work on a mast problem. So I had to pay an additional $32 over the coupon for the service call that took about 15 minutes. Their breakdown of costs is fairly pricey, compared to the last time I had electrical work done by another provider, which was on a time and materials basis.

The project from start to finish was simply the best contractor experience I've had. A phone call with the very personable Cindy led to scheduling a consultation visit (which is a $59 flat fee that is applied to any work that is done). The only snag here was waiting a week to have someone come out for an issue that I was a little concerned about. Quality shops are just busier so I totally understood. Cindy offered to also add me to their on call list in order to potentially move up the schedule which I did. The did eventually call, but I chose to keep my original appointment. The morning of the consultation, I received an email introducing me to the electrician before he arrived- this was a really nice touch of service! My scheduled time window was 8-9am. At 7:59 I received a call from Richard letting me know he was in route and would arrive within 15 minutes. Again, a simple thing, but showed that they appreciated that my time was valuable. Richard arrived and I walked him through the issues we had been having. He listened carefully and discussed some of the potential causes and ruled out a couple of my other theories. I was on the fence over whether to do a shorter term fix of replacing feeder wiring or update the whole panel. Richard spent 10 minutes working up options and gave me several from which to choose. Given the service I had already received and the personable way with which Richard walk me through the project, I decided to go ahead and update the whole panel- I was that confident that I had the right person already on site. I asked about timelines for completion and Richard responded that he already had a panel in his truck and the rest of the material could be couriered over the same day. So I just left and went to work! After he completed the work, he throughly cleaned up all the remnants of the project and walked me through everything he had done. Thank you Richard for the quality of your work!

DO NOT TRUST RANDY'S ELECTRIC. The light in our bathroom was not working. We have an old, 1950s medicine cabinet with tile surrounding the cabinet on the wall. The light fixture needing attention is attached to the cabinet itself. Randy's cancelled 2 days before they were supposed to come take a look, so they said they would waive their $59 initial visit fee for our rescheduled visit. Fine. We were flexible and I appreciated their consolation. When they came about a week later, the workers (Jeremy and someone else not introduced) were friendly, if not a little condescending. After doing some testing, they determined the fixture itself was broken, not the electric running to the fixture. He showed me a small cylindrical piece, calling it the "ballast," which he was almost certain needed to be replaced. (It turned out it was NOT the ballast. More on that later.) According to our "friendly" service man, we had three options: 1) replace the "ballast" on the fixture - $200+ (he discouraged this option because ballast replacement is relatively expensive, especially when we were thinking of getting a new fixture anyway) 2) mount a replacement fixture on the built in cabinet - $200+ (He also discouraged this since it would look tacky) 3) remove medicine cabinet, mount a mirror over the hole, run wiring above the tile and mount a light fixture above the tile - $700+ (This was his preferred recommendation) Being that none of our options were ideal, especially the last, I wanted to wait to make a decision (And I'm glad I did) He seemed to understand, wrote me up estimates for the work and asked for the service call fee. I explained that it was supposed to be waived since they cancelled on us, but he told me he could only waive it if we had work done. (This was not mentioned to us) He called the office to check and spoke to the "boss" - Cindy or Cheryl? I could hear her clearly over Jeremy's phone, and I'm pretty sure she did not know I was listening, since she mentioned "needing to get paid someway or another" and saying if "she (meaning me) is going to put up a stink" that they would figure out some way for Jeremy to get paid. (I did not put up a stink) After listening to her, I determined I didn't want anything more to do with these people and paid $59 to get them out of my house. I felt bad enough after they left because of Cindy/Cheryl's obvious lack of customer service, but felt even more taken for a fool, when after a quick Google search, I learned Jeremy was trying to have me pay for an expensive ballast replacement ($200+) when all that needed replacing was the starter cylinder ($2 at Ace Hardware) My husband was able to make the switch in less than 5 minutes. If Jeremy had told the truth, I could have had him replace the starter to at least get my fixture working again, and waited to consider replacing the fixture later down the line. In short, Jeremy was trying his hardest to make me opt for the most expensive "solution." I repeat: Do not trust Randy's Electric. They are only out for themselves.

We are returning the trip charge fee of $59 and will be making an additional effort to redeem ourselves to you. We are so very sorry. Sincerely, Courtney Lotzer Randy's Electric"

Very easy to set up, professional and genuine. We chose to go with the electrician our general contractor had provided since it was all-inclusive and at a better price point for the electrical work needed.

I called Randy's Electric, they were able to send a technician out within 48 hours (it wasn't an emergency). The technician, Matt, arrived on time, he worked quickly, explained the problem as he was working and was very professional. The cost was very reasonable. I will use Randy's for the future needs of my rental properties.

The job was scheduled within a few days of calling. The electricians were on-time and called me before arriving. Both electricians who did the work were friendly and professional. They gave me a flat rate estimate for the job and completed the work efficiently. They had to cut down some hardware to get it to fit our current setups and did so without complaint. They even offered to haul away the old lights and containers from the new lights at no extra charge.
