I called after four weeks to see what the status was and was told I could not get a date and I might not get it done at all this year. I explained that I was waiting to install carpet until the work was done and I needed to know if they were not going to be able to do the work. They called me back the same day and told me that they could not do the work.
Due to the time of year I was not sure that I would be able to find another person with time to get it done this year. He said he would check and see if he could find someone but I never heard back.
They likely do quality work but this was very stressful for me and could easily have been avoided by contacting me earlier.
When the new window well arrived, Seth and another worker came out to do the install. They cut out the existing well and hand dug the hole to the new size. We have an AC unit tight up against one side and a sprinkler system backflow and line on the other. No complaints about hand digging at all. They jumped in the hole and started at it. They laid down plywood for dirt and gravel removed so it wouldn't be in the grass. They worked quickly. The entire job probably only took 4 hours. When they left, they cleaned up and you would never know they had been there. The new well is anchored to the wall and supported on both sides by unistrut. They put well over 9 inches of gravel in the bottom and re-graded the surrounding area to flow away from the house.
Great work. Very responsive throughout the process. Fair price.

"[member name removed], Thank you very much for taking the time to post such a nice review I am sure they will really appreciate it and it was a pleasure working with you. LeAnne Gardner"
During the project Seth and his team continued the excellence. They were on time, respectful and worked hard. There were some issues due to the grade of my property and Seth explained the options and made sound recommendations. Through the whole process I felt respected and knew my concerns were important to Seth and his team. It was such a great experience and no stress at all, I am so very pleased with the way the team communicated with me, did their work and the final results look fantastic. I highly recommend them. I have another project I need done, and when I have the funds I plant to call Gardner to do the work.

Bill, the estimator was friendly and responsive. The crew foreman, Ryan, was very friendly, knowledgeable and kept us informed as the project went along. The whole crew seemed very professional, worked hard and seemed well trained in their craft.
The project looks beautiful, better than I expected.
We paid an additional amount to have some drainage pipes added and installed to correct a drainage issue from our rain gutter down spouts.
One comment; I had some flowers along the walkway...I had taken most of them out, but left a few I thought were far enough away from the work. The first day of work I was impressed that they were untouched, so I guess I expected the same for the following days work. But, unfortunately, they were pretty much walked on. (Probably my own fault for not expression my concern for the flowers.)
The workers cleaned up the area well and blew the driveway clean and also added some soil to the area near the sidewalk. All in all, we were very pleased with the work done. Looks great!
When the job was half done, Bill called up and said that he would need to "bump up the quote by $1000." When I asked him why, he said that the demo was more difficult than expected and labor costs higher. We couldn't see any additional labor so refused to pay the extra $1000. Bill had also agreed to tuck point and repair the front brick wall of the porch for $500. Another worker, an older man who seemed to be in charge on the day of the cement work, told me that in his experience Gardner doesn't do brick work. I called Bill to schedule this work and the call was never returned nor the tuck pointing done. We are now in the process of finding another contractor to finish the project.
Although we were pleased with the cement work, we probably wouldn't use Gardner again nor recommend them for two reasons:I felt that Bill low balled the bid to get the job and then tried to raise the rate. Also, they promised the tuck pointing and didn't deliver.
Before hand I had to remove a lot of shelving and some carpeting, but Jerry's crew did move the washer, dryer, and wash basin. As agreed, I had to move those back after the new concrete cured.
Work was estimated to take a day and a half, but Jerry had extra help available and called out reinforcements. The crew got the entire job done in about 7 hours. As expected there was a certain amount of dust and debris to clean up, but very very little. They did as neat and clean a job as we expected and better.
I have waited to write this review until I could determine that the system was working. Since the spring was not unusually wet (like the previous year) I don't think the pump had to run at all until a very heavy rain on July 6. Then I could hear the water draining into the sump basin, and the pump was moving it out. So far the basement has remained bone dry.
With the slope on the property we've only ever had water problems at the back side of the basement, hence Jerry and I thought we could get by with a partial drain tile job. If we ever do get seepage in the front half I will definitely have Jerry and his crew back to do the remaining perimeter, and he assures me it will be no problem to tie into the existing system without having to install another basin and pump.
Very happy with the work. Jerry explained everything to my satisfaction and his crew was very efficient and friendly. Thanks Jerry, and the same to your crew as well!
