I called them to diagnose and repair my broken Centrail AIr Unit. The units outdoor fan would not come on and it appeared to be leaking refrigerant. They showed up about a half hour late.
They replaced the fans capacitor and the fan motor came right on however they said it sounded like it was slowing down and I should install a new one or "they would end up having to come back in a few days." I elected have them replace the fan motor.  They brought a beat up old motor box and pulled a motor out of it. I prefer my new parts to come in new boxes but that's me.
After the replaced the fan motor and added some coolant I reminded them about the leak which I had already located.  I let them use my flashlight to see it as their flashlight had dead batteries.  Jim said it was leaking that much and probably wasn't that big of a deal. I said okay.
A few hours later, after i went back to work,  my wife called and said the fan wasn't coming on anymore. I called Jim who answered promptly and told him.  He said he would complete another job at my Mothers house I had scheduled with him the following day and then come back to see what the problem was.  I let him know that I was not comfortable with him starting the next job until he could finish this one correctly.
He told me he didn't understand how a new motor and new capacitor would stop working like that and sounded agitated.
That night I popped open the Central air unit wiring cover and saw an old beat up capacitor connected to the new motors wiring.  I tested it and it was dead and was certainly not new.  I put the capacitor back and put the cover back on and waited for them to come the next morning.
They came almost an hour late this with a motor in a new box and a new capacitor.  They replaced both and wrapped everything up.  Jim said he already had someone starting the work (replacing an entire central air unit) at my mother's house while they came to my house even though I told him not to start that project until mine was complete.
They left and I went to look at the Central Air unit.  I noticed two wires awfully close to the fan blades I turned it off to investigate. Sure enough one had already been hit by the fan.  I took off the wiring cover and secured the wires myself.
I would also like to note that they both appear to be very racist and made several comments both times they were out which I will not repeat but they did feel the need to inform me they saw an African American riding a bike on the rode before you turn on mine.
Update 3 months later the part of the central air unit they worked on needs additional service.
