Bob was prompt and took care to check everything in the home. He was thorough and even offered to speak to homeowner for me to resolve an issue. Would recommend and hire again.

A terrible service. He missed countless things that have cost us tens of thousands of dollars since buying the home. Every contractor that we have used since then has said the same thing and quot;how did your inspector miss this?!and quot;

I am in the process of buying a condo, and when I pulled up, Bill (my inspector) was already there checking out the front and back of the unit. We met, and Bill as a person was very enjoyable and easy to talk to (which was important, as this was my first home and I was VERY nervous). Anytime I had a question, I asked and he knew the answer right away. To qualify this, I asked some questions that I already knew the answers to, as a test of sorts, which he aced.
While he didn't take me around with him on the outside inspection, he did ask me to go around the condo with him on the inside, as this was my time to learn about the house I was buying. He described everything that needed some work, recommended how he would do it (vs what a contractor would) and even gave me a ballpark of what it would cost me.
He checked every room, the inside and outside, the Radon levels, Wood damaging insects, and the attic, and provided pictures in my report of the major problem areas.
He was very professional and his experience showed every step of the way. I highly recommend Bill and Homeward Bound Home Inspections.

Our realtor recommended this company for our first home inspection. Based on their findings as well as a water test that we had a lab perform, we chose not to purchase the house. The inspector found mold in the attic which we would not have known without an inspection.
The next home we were considering, we chose to use the same company because we felt the inspector did a good job the first time. While the inspector did point out many code violations and determine the age of the roof, furnace, AC, and other aspects; we were disappointed in a couple areas.
One glaring error was a hanging light fixture that I could tell there was something wrong with but when I asked the home owners, they said there was no problem. So, I made sure to show the fixture to the inspector; he told me there was nothing wrong with the fixture. After we bought the house, my dad came up from Florida to see the house and we told him about the light fixture, he looked at it for us. He showed us that there was an exposed wire which if we had touched inside (where you screw in the light bulb) that we would have been shocked. This was upsetting to us that the inspector assured us that the fixture was fine. Fortunately, replacing the fixture was inexpensive.
Another area that we were concerned about was water dripping in the basement. The inspector told us to caulk some cracks and we would be fine. We had water leak in the basement after every rain and when we finally had cement work done on the porch, the leaking stopped.

They found everything I knew about including a couple tougher to locate items. They were professional and not out to scare anyone over something that may appear to be a problem but was really not a significant item. Their report was complete and very clear. I have been in the construction business myself since 1978 and I would hire them to do a pre-purchase inspection for me...

HOMEWARD BOUND WAS RECOMMENDED TO US BY A FRIEND WHO HAD THEM COME OUT TO DO SOME WORK AT THEIR HOUSE. THEY DO MORE THAN INSPECTIONS, AND WE WERE EXTREMELY HAPPY WITH THEIR WORK.
