Ron Ellis, the Gold Star Property Restoration representative. Helped us get a new roof after a storm. It is a big Colonial with a high hip-roof. Ron worked with the insurance company's adjuster, held our hand through the entire process. Clued us into tricks the insurance company would try to get out of paying full amount, and knew building code. Gold Star even absorbed our deductible. Crew that did work was very professional, did a beautiful job and even cleaned up with a magnet in the grass for nails. Great company to use. I saw another review on GSPR that was negative and was NOT our experience. So few contractors keep their promises, but Ron kept every one. Our experience was great!

Our insurance company contacted a company in FL they use to suggest companies to call in our area. We were given the name of Gold Starr and contacted them for an estimate of repairs. After talking to Steve he agreed to come out. The day he was to come it was sleeting and he called to reschedule. He said he'd almost fallen off a roof and felt it wasn't safe to try to go up and inspect the roof for an estimate. He airrived on time and walked around the house with my husband and took two pictures for the insurance company. My husband asked him about going up on the roof and he said it wasn't necessary and he'd submit his estimate to the insurance company. I called the insurance agent a few days later and questioned about him not going up on the roof. She asked if he made any temporary repairs to protect the roof and we said no. She said he sent two pictures and a bill for temporary repairs. I told them not to pay the bill as he never even got on the roof. Since our deductible was $1,000 and his bill was just under half we were extremely angry. Plus we still had to get someone to come out and give a true estimate. We would never suggest these people at all especially since the man's card showed he was the President of it. Some president when he's even too lazy to get on a roof and give a true estimate.

Shingle damage can be seen from the ground due to missing or lifted shingles. Gold Star preformed over 120 jobs that week. Gold Star did not submit for payment due to the lack of visual damage. We are sorry the insurance carriers do not pay for non damaged surfaces. Hope this helps."
