Colors by Kim Hair Salon & Day Spa

I arrived at 1pm on March 6th 2021. I had a plan for dark red violet on one side of my head and blush on the other. My hair was past my shoulders with purple and red but it was easy to pull out(purple) red was more difficult. I did tell her my hair was pre-lightened and I used olaplex bc my hair was dry and it seemed to do the best. She let me know she will not be doing olaplex since it's just for moisture. I was placed with Mary, she said she was confident and started test strands with lightener for 20-30 min. Then after saying all is good she began full head of lightener and then later added heat to one side. My hair was supposed to be shoulder length or just above. But as soon as she towel dried my hair it was fried. She assured me after the color and a conditioning treatment thing would be okay but it 100% wasn't. After washing out the color each side was not what I asked for. I got faded red violet on one side and light brown on the other. After using a brush to detangle my fried hair instead of a wide tooth comb my hair was short in random top pieces and I made the decision to cut it all off which even a pixie cut wasn't short enough. I was very upset at this point because she not only fried my hair and didn't give me the color I asked for she had me pay before hand and it was 100% not worth $301 and her $69 tip. . Mary was very nice but she is very underqualified to do a color correction, cut and dye. Even the pixie I showed her she did not complete right. It is longer and misshapen. I have contacted the owner and asked for a refund or even a partial. When I hear back I will update this review.

I made an appointment, got there about 7-8 minutes early and then had to wait literally an hour past my appointment time for a wash and cut that took 25 minutes total. Other people came and went. And I still sat there. The stylist I eventually saw was very nice and did a good job, but she only came out once to say it would be another 5 minutes (it was another 25 minutes past that actually). I wish they would have offered to put me with someone different ... had never been there before so it's not like I specifically requested someone when I called. It's too bad, because while I like the cut I got, and it seems like a nice salon, I can't afford to blow another Saturday afternoon sitting around for who knows how long past my appointment time before getting my hair cut.

They do excellent color and highlights. I get complements on my highlights all the time.
