Doug's Handyman Service

Doug did a terrific job cleaning the deck, deck was only three years old but had many stains and discoloring from black walnut trees.  we had trouble with the weather cooperating after the cleanup.  doug always kept me up to date on when he may be able to complete.  deck looks terrific!

I have twice tried to email this company, I have included both my email and my phone number. I have not heard back either time.

His work is very good, he does what he says he will, and has a reasonable price.

Doug arrived right on time.  He spend about 1.5 hours completing the task.  It all came together nicely.  I was very impressed with the work he did and will use him on my future projects moving forward.

I had contacted Doug on Friday regarding some drywall work I needed done for a kitchen remodel. He told me he would be at my home around 8:30 on Monday. It is now 12:30, no Doug and no phone call. Not impressed. 

Doug did a great job repairing and painting our deck.

Day 1: Doug and his helper arrived at 9:00.  They began on re-working the kitchen sink & dishwasher plumbing.  Also, they removed the radiant heater and bled the line.  They began running the gas line.  They left around 6pm. Day 2:  Doug arrived around 9:00.  They ran the line for the icemaker and completed the gas line.  They also installed the drywall. They removed the old tile in the entryway.  They left around 6pm. Day 3:  Doug arrived around 9:00.  They began to mud the walls and then installed the hardyboard throughout the kitchen, dining room and entryway. Day 4:  Doug arrived around 9:00.  They began to lay the tile.  They finished laying the time around 5:30.  They applied another coat of mud to the walls. Day 5:  Doug arrived around 9:30am.  They applied another coat of mud to the wall.  They grouted the kitchen.  They cleaned up and left around 4:30.

Doug responded right away and came out quickly to do the work.  My husband and I were at the office when he did the work, and when we came home there were a couple adjustments we wanted him to make.  I called him and he came out the next day and made the adjustments, no questions asked.  Very professional and responsive.  I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.

Master Handyman Service, Doug Shebby, contact number is 810-208-0926 I called 1 day and Doug came out the next morning. He was right on time introduced himself and started on the jobs I had told him about on the phone, which was a plugged toilet and told him I needed some estimates on a couple other jobs, which he fixed that same day. The other jobs were to fix the entrance of the front door to be able to get my Mom in and out of the house in the wheelchair easier on her and us and their hot water was way to hot. He unplugged the toilet, told us we needed new plungers and where he had gotten his at. He fixed the hotwater heater and showed me how to do it myself and told us what to do to stop the hot water heater from going out. Which is to add a 30" vent for the hot water heater on to the one that was on the roof. Told him the roof was going to be redone this Spring, and he told me that if the roofers wouldn't fix it while redoing the roof to call him and he would come out and do it. I would definitely use him again and recommend him to others. He was a true blessing because we have been what I call overcharged so many times. He was very courteous and friendly. He doesn't try to sell or add extra work to be done. Very trustworthy.

We just moved into a house that is 23 years old. We went over the inspectors report. He helped me to decide what to do and was down to earth about it. Parts were $500 and Labor was $2500. I felt as if I were over charged by about $1000.

Doug and his service did a fantastic job. They charged true to the estimates, performed the work in a very timely matter, and didn't leave any mess behind. He even gave my father some extra helpful tips about doing other minor repairs on the house. Overall, my experience with Doug's Handyman Service was awesome. I would definitely use him in the future and recommend him to others.

Doug and his son came the day after I called because of a leaky toilet supply line. They installed a new line and a new toilet at the same time. They picked up the new toilet of our choice at Home Depot on their way to our house at no extra charge to us, sold us the toilet at cost, and only charged $65 to install the toilet, $7 to replace the supply line, and $4.50 to replace the flapper on another toilet! (That toilet installation price is MUCH better than the $175 we paid another plumber to install a different toilet last fall!) Doug and his son were courteous and friendly. I will definitely use them again if I have the need. Because Doug is a handyman with several skills, I have asked him to provide a bid to patch cracks in, and paint, our living room walls and cathedral ceiling.

It's all been good, he's very reliable. He's punctual, prices have been quite reasonable and all in all he's been a very good guy to work with.

He did an excellent job and his pricing was fair. He did such a excellent job that we'll be using him for my mother's home remodel.

It went fine, Doug was right on time went to work and finished in 90 minutes.

Dough and his team are very professional. Everything was done on time, at no extra cost that quoted before hand and the crew cleaned up after themselves. I love the new finished space in my basement. I would call Dough again anytime I need Handymen services around the house.

The O rings in our whirlpool tub dry rotted from lack of use. Needing to use the tub for medical reasons caused water leaking from the second floor all the way to the basement. We had a young plumber come out to take a look at it who was clueless. The plumber wanted to punch a hole in our kitchen ceiling just to see what what happening...mind you he was not going to fix the hole. Doug came out the next day, took a look at the whirlpool jets, told us the O rings were dry rotten and tub need to be replaced. He also told us we do not need to punch a hole in the ceiling. We need to find and order a tub about the same size. He could do the install for $500 but because of my medical condition (and that I didn't need to use the tub any longer) he recommended we wait until I could tolerate the mess that would come with the installation of the new tub. We plan on using Doug to do the work this summer. If I am still a member of Angie's list, I will give you an update! :)

He did a good job. He was able to come out within a day or two of my call. He arrived on time for the work. He was very nice. I would recommend him to others.

It ended up costing about 10 dollars less than he said it would. My husband was the one that was home and he was very satisfied with everything, including the cost.

Overall, great. Doug always came on time, estimated the time it would take him. We agreed on a price range since this was a "mystery" job. It seemed to me to be complicated, but he knew what he was doing. His estimate came well within the range we discussed, he and his assistant were very professional, competent, and extremely tidy. I highly recommend him. I only used him on a plumbing project, but wouldn't hesitate to call him for the other kinds of work he does. A VERY satisfying experience in getting a complicated problem fixed.
