They came & serviced our a/c when it wasn't working. They came on a weekday, during the day, non-emergency call. The tech quickly guessed the problem & replaced the dual capacitor. Then he handed me the bill for $304 which was $85 service and $219 for the part. He was gone after a total of maybe 30 minutes. I checked on-line for the part and quickly found the exact same part # for a price of just under $20 on two sites. It took over a week of phone calls before a manager finally returned my call (I was threatening to contact BBB, etc by that point). He "apologized" for the "mistake" and then asked me if a refund of $75 would be okay. I told me I expected more like $100. He said "We'll refund $75. Okay?!" I agreed, but still know I was getting screwed. He said they appreciate my business and then next I call I should ask for him to be sure to "get the right price". Seriously?!? He admits to their mistake, then negotiates a refund! How about saying the part should have been X amount & refund the difference!?! And then I should have to ask for him to get the right price the next time?!? Not a good way to do business and I will not be calling them again! I suggest you check elsewhere, too.

They were scheduled to come out today between 9am and 1pm. My neighbor was waiting around to let them in the house since I live in Ohio, and they never showed up. I called them multiple times. The last time I spoke with Holly and she told me she would check with the plumber and call me back. I never heard back from her. I called a little after 3pm and they were already closed. I was inconvenienced since I need someone to start work right away, and my neighbor was inconvenienced by waiting around all day.

The company did a really excellent job. No complaints about the service. We did have a minor issue and the company made it out the next morning. They were on time friendly and professional.

A/C went out. I thought it was the furnace part which is under service contract. They charged me $45 for service call with the rest going towards coolant. Exactly 24 hours later, the A/C stopped working again. Took another 24 hours for them to come out to tell me that there was a leak and it would probably be more cost effective to spend $4000 on a new A/C. Charged me $85.00 for the service call telling me that the original service call 2 days before should have been $85.00 also. Got quotes from 2 other companies for new A/C. One of them told me that there should have been a 30-day guarantee on the service call and I shouldn't have been charged twice. Both quotes from the other companies were substantially less than Mastercraft.

They did the job, cleaned up, and it was all done well! They were very professional and did such a great job! They went above and beyond my expectations.

When I opened the door, he said he was here to fix my air conditioner. I had to explain that he was here to do a furnace tune up. When he came back upstairs, he told me that there was a crack in the heat exchanger and that I needed to get a new furnace right away. He said it was dangerous and could leak. He also said I should buy it now before the prices went up. I then called consumers power. They came out and checked my furnace. They said that there was no crack in the heat exchanger and that my furnace was fine. They said that he lied to me. This company tried to scam thousands of dollars out of a single mom! Be aware, do not do business with them!

Our first call was to another company which does not carry Comfortmaker parts, and as such would not be able to replace the blower until later the next day. I called Mastercraft because they listed Comfortmaker as a manufacturer they install and service.My call was returned, but I was informed that there were 6 jobs ahead of me and they would not be able to come out until 6 AM at the earliest. I proceded to remove the draft inducer and I was able to clean out dirt that was causing the drag, returning the furnace to operation.The technician arrived at 9 AM and inspected the work, and indicated that if the draft inducer needed replacement within 90 days he could do so without charging an additional service call charge.Since then, I have had to lubricate the motor once more due to the furnace not running again, and I ordered my own replacement part to save money. The price I was given for the replacement is fair, but I intend to save my money towards a replacement and upgrade of the furnace planned for some time within the next year or two.

The rep was very responsive and informative. We didn't go with Mastercraft because we chose a company that had great reviews on Angie's List and presented their proposal/contact in computerized form rather than handwritten.

This is the second furnace we have purchased from Mastercraft. We were so pleased with the workmanship, and product, that we had Mastercraft come to our new home and install the same York furnace. We also had a York air-conditioner installed at the same time. Jack came to our home, told us what we needed for the square footage, was competitive with this price, and took the time to discuss any concerns we had. The workers were on time, friendly, cleaned up, and made sure everything was working properly before they left. They took the time to explain how to use our new therostat, and were detailed on the installation, and explanation of all work done. I would highly recommend Mastercraft to my friends and family. If we were to ever need another furnace or air-conditioner, we would never go anywhere else.

Mastercraft bought out the company we had been using (Kast/Blue Dot) so we continued to use them. This report is a long time in coming. The furnace in my Mom's house went out in March, 2007 and the company was called. We were told the furnace ( age unknown - I think it was maybe 15 yrs) was not salvageable.. and when it wore out it took the electrical panel/circuit box with it. I asked if they gave senior discounts and was told no (which was a lie). The technician made comments about the neighborhood (upscale) so I guess he figured he could charge us more. The work was done, but I came to find out that eventhough I was charged $100 for a permit, none was pulled. It caught up to them in 2010/2011 when the city found out by happenstance and forced them to do numerous mechanical and electrical upgrades to the system... things that should have been done to make the system up to code in the first place. I felt I had to keep using them after the furnace issue for other maintence and emergency repairs b/c I didn't know where else to turn and they provided a lifetime warranty for their work, equipment, etc. Once I realized JUST how much I was bamboozled and lied to and had money taken under false pretenses, they can no longer have my business - no matter what it costs me to bring someone else in. I think the owner is only interested in making money, not taking care of customers... so while many of the technicians who have come out over the last few years have been mostly ok, I do not wish to do business with this company anymore.

Called because the a/c unit was running, but no air was blowing in the house. Was told the blower motor was bad, which shorted out the circuit board, which required a 3rd part to need replacement. Quote was for around $800, including service call. Furnace is 12 years old, and service person said a furnace will only last around 15 years, so I should consider getting a new furnace. Furnace was left open with a part dangling and some wires disconnected/crossed. I called another company to get a second opinion. Only the circuit board needed replacement. In any event, I felt I was being mislead by the Mastercraft tech. I would not hire them again.

They are generally good, we have used them a couple of times and we have never really had any problems with them, we have just decided to go with another company.

Beware of using this company. I called because my furnace would not turn OFF. Michael, the company technician, nonetheless disassembled the blower motor. I told him again that the problem was the furnace would not turn OFF. He finally acknowledged that I needed a switch. He tried to charge me for his labor with the motor. I forced him to take $70 off the price. He made numerous, transparent attempts to turn this emergency call into a new heating system sale.

THEY WERE VERY GOOD AT WHAT THEY DID. THEY KNEW WHAT THEY HAD TO DO AND THEY DID IT. THEY HAD THE FURNACE WORKING THAT SAME DAY. I AM HAPPY WITH THE WORK THAT THEY DID IN MY HOME. I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO OTHERS.
