I'm not sure whose fault it is for the decaying quality of health care; but it seems to coincide with the rollout of Obamacare (just my observation). Don't expect a quick appointment; I had to wait more than a month for a physical. When you do get there, you need to find the right building / lobby / line to stand in. After getting through the line, you can expect to wait a while for the doc to see you. Then, when you get to the examining room, you will be answering questions while the doc stares at his computer to make sure he's capturing all the info. "Are you still taking antibiotics?" (No, that was for a throat infection a year ago). "I see you had shoulder surgery five years ago. What is your pain level?" (Zero). Volumes of personal data, but very little personal attention. I guess I'll just keep trying different providers in the endless quest for one-on-one health care and a doctor who knows me :(

for the past two years I have suffered severe lower back pain along with my severe neck pain, an MRI was done on the entire spine and they found nothing causing my lower back pain, but I do have 3 severe herniated discs in the neck, but I come from a long line of Rheumatoid Arthritis sufferers. and I explained that to the ProMed Physician that there is a long history in my family of Rheumatoid Arthritis, but he refused to believe it might be Rheumatoid Arthritis. He has been treating me for the 3 herniated discs since 2000 with pain meds but at my last visit he refused to prescribe for me the same prescription that I have been using. He treated me like a drug addict. I was asked if I ever used Morphine, or Percocet, in which I told him NO and that he has my chart for the past 16 years, I have only taken what he prescribes. In the same breath he told me he will stop prescribing pain meds for me starting right then... and lower my Rx down.   I was scheduled to have surgery in the next few months even though the neurosurgeon said it would not take away the pain but it will help with the constant numbness in my arms in which It really doesnt bother me, but the pain in the neck is so sever that I cannot do most normal things around the house or with my grandchildren..  The physician whom I've seen for over 16 years now told me to my face, that he is more concerned with the new laws that the DEA has put out.  He wasnt concerned for my pain management whatsoever. He wanted to refer me to the pain clinic which will only do injections and I heard nothing but bad reviews about the pain clinic so I refuse to go to them.  My DR  told me 10 years ago I will be a chronic pain sufferer the rest of my life with my condition but now he refuses to treat me for such, and since the new DEA laws about pain meds has come he will not treat me. I asked him to find out what is going on with my back and he refuses to look into that also, I am anticipating that it is Arthritis but he wont look into that either.   I wont recommend ProMed to ANYONE!!!!!!  I am now going with a Bronson Physician who will look into Rheumatoid Arthritis and manage my neck pain with no problem. it's a shame I had to leave a Dr whom I trusted for years.

I like them a lot. He is not an old guy but he is kind of old school. He listens to you. He doesn't jump right in with 100 medications and you know the simplicity. Excepts for physicals I would give him an "A". Physicals you got to give him like a month and a half lead time. If you need to get in to see him I would give him an "A". A little upstairs office.

I like ProMed Family Practice. You have a primary physician, but you can also see a nurse practitioner if you need to see someone sooner for something less serious and you can get in to see a nurse practitioner sooner than you can a doctor. Sometimes there's a bit of a wait. They have a couple of locations. My doctor is an osteopath doctor, which I like. He understands alternative treatments. They also have there a walk-in emergency clinic. I've been using them for years and I'll continue to use them.

They are excellent. I have been with them for close to 25 years, and I have had the same doctor the whole time. They have their own lab and x-ray, and can take care of pretty much everything except major surgery.

My insurance company has this listed as a and quot;Patient-Centered Medical Homeand quot;, which is supposed to mean that they take the patients needs, concerns, questions, thoughts, and beliefs into account, and that you are a valued member of your own health team. This couldn't be further from the truth. The office is set up such that different physicians are in different locations every day, so when you come in the door you have to look at a board to tell you which of 3 different reception desks your doctor is located at today. You never have the same nurse or receptionist twice, and you never speak with anyone you recognise when you call in on the phone. And if you happen to call in on a day that your doctor is at another location, the staff won't communicate your question or problem to your doctor until they return to that location. When my family temporarily moved into the area late last year we had a difficult time finding a physician that was accepting new patients, and were extatic to find that ProMed would accept my whole family under the same physician. I immediately scheduled appointments for my husband, myself, and my almost 1-year-old daughter, but waited until that first appointment to schedule my 2 3/4-year old son since he didn't need anything urgently. At the appointment for my daughter I asked the receptionist and scheduler when I should bring in my son, if I should do it right away and get him on the books, or if I should wait until his next routine visit when he turned 3 in 3 months. They both told me I should wait until he turned 3 because it would be a well child visit. After working as a receptionist in a doctor's office for 2 years myself I understood the undertones of what was said were and quot;If you bring him in now it's difficult to bill to the insurance company because he's not sick, but it's not officially well child.and quot; I specifically asked that if he were to get sick and need to be seen before his first appointment, would he still be able to come in the same day, or would it be difficult to get him in because he hadn't had his new patient visit yet. They both told me in no uncertain terms that their facility did not require a patient to have an official new patient visit before being seen, but that sometimes same day appointments were difficult to get for even long established patients. So I made his appointment for shortly after his 3rd birthday and hoped for the best. Unfortunately the best did not occur! About a month later everyone in my family came down with a severe stomach bug. Days of severe vomiting, diarrhea, and nausea for all 4 of us. We had serious concerns that it might be Giardia, or some other internal parasite. My husband and I were coping, not happily, but making do. But after about 3 days of the children's fluid intake obviously not keeping up with their fluid output, and their personalities becoming more and more cranky then lethargic, I decided we needed to get them in. When I called to make the appointment I was told that they could get my daughter in the next day, but that my son couldn't be seen because he hadn't had a new patient visit yet, and that the first one of those available wasn't for a month and a half (only about 2 weeks sooner than the one he already had scheduled). My only option was to take him to urgent care (which is astronomically more expensive with our insurance). I then asked if I took him to urgent care and his stool culture showed a parasite of some kind, could our family doc take those results and perscribe a treatment for everyone as a precaution. My old doctor in my old town never hesitated to do that for us, since in a small family of four with a stay home mom of two precious little germ factories, if one person has it, everyone has it. I was told that they would not do that, and each one of us had to have a positive stool culture in order to get treatment, and that they wouldn't even order those until we all had our own appointment. In the end we took both kids to urgent care and got stool cultures done through them, but I will never forgive ProMed for refusing to see a very sick, potentially dehydrated, 2 year old who was in their care, simply because he hadn't been in for a and quot;new patientand quot; visit. Even my husband has had problems with them. When he went in for his first appointment at the end of January, he asked for referrals to two types of specialists. One referral still has never happened, the other one took us calling our previous physician in another state and having her refer my husband to someone in our area. Overall we have been so unhappy with our care at ProMed that we've stopped going and are only waiting until we make our final permanent move to Plainwell to find another doctor's office where we'll feel like a person rather than a number. And you'd better believe it won't be a Borgess-owned physician's office!

It has been a good experience. I have been going to them for years because I have never had any issues with them. I have not had any trouble with the billing process.

I have pretty much been having my physicals with the physician’s assistant and nurse practitioner.  I used to like that they had evening and Saturday hours, but they have gotten rid of their evening hours.  If anyone is working and does not want to take the time off, they don’t have that flexibility anymore, but I can get in on Saturdays.  They are pretty booked, even if I have an emergency and it is really hard to get an appointment.  The staff and doctors have all been really nice.

Dr. Wile and the ProMed facility has been acceptable and decent to use. I am a young adult that was in the area without a regular physician, so I sought out Dr. Wile per the recommendation of another area professional. The office experience is not as personal as I would prefer, but I am not sure where one can find that anymore, so for now I will go here. There is nothing wrong with it - the system is efficient and regulated, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Each time I have visited, the office has been in a different location within the building, so you have to pay attention to the signs. You do feel like you're occasionally being pushed along the assembly line, with medical facilities like this having to accommodate more people in shorter time spans. In the visit, I always have to be prepared and forward with my questions and concerns, because otherwise you may miss your chance to talk to the doctor - he/she might pop out to grab a prescription or sample, and send it back in with a nurse, concluding your visit. The office/setup does not seem to be very proactive on getting you to come back or things of that nature. They shook their finger at me for not having come back to the office in over a year, though I had never heard from them that they needed that for me to obtain prescription refills. I have had a pharmacy call in a request for a refill to Dr. Wile's office and, though they wouldn't refill it without me coming back in for a checkup, they never called me to tell me that - I just didn't get anything.
Overall, I think that this is a decent facility and the staff is professional and knowledgeable. The things that I think are less than desirable at ProMed are characteristics that are familiar at almost any facility like this that I know of.

I had two small discolorations on my shoulder.  Dr. Goodwin performed a biopsy and the lab confirmed a type of cancer cell.  Dr. Goodwin removed the spots and the lab confirmed all of the cancer cells were removed.  All procedures were performed painlessly and healed properly.  Dr. Goodwin has provided general medical care for the last 5 years and I've always been satisfied with the service.

I have been seeing Dr. Slater for about 2-3 years and have found her to be very  easy to talk with and  a good listener, always ready to help.  her staff is also excellent.  I especially like the Shared Medical Appointments....expecially the group discussion portion.

Tell you what, MAKE AN APPOINTMENT.  We waited for over and hour and a half for the doctor to tell us what we already knew.  My wife is in medical school, but wanted a doctor to clarify what was happening in her body.  All he did was agree with her and then referred her for an endoscopy (which I guess means the visit wasn't a total bust).  However, the doctor didn't have much professionalism in the room.  He came in, plopped down on the counter (didn't even use a chair), and leaned back like it was a recliner.  When he finished examining my wife, he simply got up and walked out.  My wife and I looked at one another since we didn't know if he was done or not.  Sure enough, he was, BUT a little communication goes a long way!

I LOVE Dr. Ku.  He is intelligent and practical and non-judgemental.  He was recommended to me by another (unrelated) practitioner and I have been very pleased to have him be my practitioner for the last 5 years.    He "walks the talk" in that he personally practices a healthy lifestyle and it shows.  He is in a large group family practice (I wish he was in a smaller practice) but honestly I have no complaints about how the group practice is run.  Sometimes you do have to wait a bit for an appointment specifically with him, but he is worth the wait.  He never makes you feel rushed either and is happy to answer as many questions and give you background information that is helpful.

I developed a health concern in December 2009. I was seen quickly after making an appointment and was reassured during the office exam with subsequent tests confirming the in-office diagnosis. The standard of care was suburb and the caring attitude shown by all at this provider was outstanding.

I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dr. Pinon. I have watched him over the years, how he respectfully has spoken with my son, actively listening to him. He is very knowledgeable of current medical treatment. My husband, who NEVER goes to the doctor's, has agreed to see Dr. Pinon when necessary, and has also spoken very highly of him. Dr. Pinon truly cares about his patients. Yes, occasionally appointments later in the day get later because a patient needed more time. But I know when I really need extra time, he will be there for me, too.
