I had nine large oak trees that were becoming hazardous to my house and pole barn.  Five which were very close to the two structures (within eight feet).  Some of these trees were almost three feet in diameter. (two were larger).  I had three other estimates and their estimate was the best.  The company that came the closest wouldn't dispose of the trees and the cost for grinding the stumps was almost half of what I paid J&S.  Disposing of the trees would cost me more but by that time I didn't even ask for a price for that because including grinding the stumps I was past J&S's bid.  You can imagine what the other two were.  I cut down a fifty foot pine tree and a fifty foot oak tree close to my house a week earlier and J&S threw in grinding those two stumps for free.  These two trees were only about 18 inches in diameter.  The ones they removed were between seventy and eighty feet high.  Four of which had forks relatively close to the ground so in effect they were two trees in one.  I had read the reviews for J&S which weren't too great but I liked Sue and Jim and especially the price and those reviews seemed to center around communication issues.  I didn't have any problems.

Their crew was very professional and organized.  They came in with a bucket lift truck, a chipper and a front end loader and went to work.  They worked extremely hard and had a very positive work ethic even though the temperatures were starting to get into the low eighties and they were working long hours.  They even took out three cherry wood trees for nothing and ground the stumps.  Jim came yesterday with his stump grinder and took out all the stumps.  I was extremely happy with the service and the results.   

After the storm clean up I was told they would be back in a couple weeks. This never happened and a few months later they only removed a few branches that were hanging over the neighbors yard. After many messages left they never came back. I would never trust this company.

I contracted them after a bad experience with another tree service. They were very helpful in a professional yet personable way.  They completed the service in a timely manner and the clean up was exceptional. The price was very good and they even cut down some branches that had not been part of the original quote at no extra cost.  The workers were polite and very safety conscious of the proximity of people on the ground which was crucial in my neighborhood where the houses are close together.  I would definitely use them again.
