Brian Carlin DDS

My whole family recently went to Dr. Carlin's practice. Dr. Carlin and all of the dental hygienists were friendly and they did a nice job cleaning teeth.

Terrible! Was called back quickly and seated and told there would be quite a few X-rays. I said I wasn't interested in having every tooth X-rayed but bite-wing X-rays would be fine. She left the room to talk to Dr. Carlin and he came back in and explained to me he would not clean my teeth unless I submitted to their battery of X-rays. He asked my concern about it and when I noted the radiation he asked if I flew in an airplane. I said, "no, not in years". He asked if I went outside. I said, "no", just to gauge his response. He continued on telling me the radiation was less than I was exposed to other places. Again I said I was willing to do bite-wings, but that wasn't enough X-rays for him. He said he could not assess any problems I was having without the numerous X-rays and I said I wasn't having any problems, I just wanted a cleaning. (I do have insurance that would have covered most of it, but I still don't like the insurance companies being charged as much as possible, just because they can) I mentioned his office was the only one I had ever been in through my life that they had to X-ray every tooth. I mentioned the local community college does teeth cleaning without X-raying every tooth. I said "wow, a dentist that refuses to clean teeth". He said his concern was that if I developed a problem down the road I would sue him for not giving me a comprehensive exam. He then said he wasn't going to do what I wanted him to do. He was going to do what he wanted to do or he wouldn't do the cleaning. I could find another dentist. I wasted 2 weeks waiting for an appointment. I wasted an hour of my time going to the appointment. I wasted fuel to get there and received no service because I was not going to be bullied into getting 16 X-rays I did not want. I would never go back to him, nor would I ever recommend him to anyone I know.

Dr. Brian Carlin is a gem! His entire staff has been pleasurable and friendly. I almost look forward to going there.

They are very conscientious. He explains everything. He will ask you while he's working on you "do you feel pain" or "are you uncomfortable". He is very focused on you having a pain free dental experience. You can generally get in within a week and if it's an emergency he'll see you right away. His office is very, very nice. He and his family have done a tremendous job remodeling and updating everything. I would highly recommend him to anybody.
