ROOT REMODELING

This job went very smoothly.  Mr Root went over all the work required with me, pointed out potential problem areas  (old plumbing, weak subfloor etc.)  and double checked that the new units I wanted would actually do the job.  He even showed me how a modest investment in an up to date shelving unit could double the space in my small linen closet. 
 
The room was already gutted by the time I came home for lunch the first day.  When I returned that evening the new tub/shower unit was in place and ready for fixtures.  The next couple of days were devoted to beefing up the subfloor, laying the backing for the tile and finally laying the actual tile.  What a difference!!

With the exception of few plumbing modifications, which were expected, the tub/shower unit was completed, the toilet was installed and the new sink and cabinet was placed into service with no hitches.  The last two days were spent putting in the shelving unit, installing new baseboards, painting the walls and trim and hanging the mirror and wall fixtures. 

So, how did it go overall?  Great.  Mr Root was nice to work with, defiantly knows what he's doing, did a super job in the time he said it would take at the cost he said  it would be, and I'm already thinking about how out-of-date my kitchen is.
