Description of Work: replaced old garage doors that were too heavy for me to lift and let mice enter along bottom edge. New aluminum doors I can lift with one hand and the mice problem has been solved. best estimate of the 3 I received. Interactions with salesperson and installer excellent.

Description of Work: My house only had two cheesy plastic gutters when I bought it and no gutters on the garage. I requested quotes from 3 different companies and RDK had the best price. The R D KLEINSCHMIDT company replaced the cheesy ones and installed 2 additional gutters on the house and two gutters on the garage. All gutters also had downspouts. They sent me a picture with estimate that included where the downspouts would be located, and had no problems with me moving the location of one of the spouts. Work was performed when I was not there (with my permission). They did a good job of cleaning up afterwards.

Don Heiber came out to give the estimate; he was professional, pleasant and knowledgeable; he listened closely to our concerns and addressed them in the estimate. When the crew showed up, they were polite and hard-working; completed the job in two days and did a great job of cleaning up. Don did not push to sell us new gutters -- ours were in decent shape, so the crew removed them to the yard and after I primed and painted them, RDK came back out, reinstalled them and finished the trim work. Gail in the office was very helpful with regard to scheduling. Everything went smoothly and we are very happy with the new roof.

Description of Work: This was the second time we have used them. The first time was on our Dutch Colonial house with the original roof from 1908 on it with 3 other layers. They stripped all the layers to the roof boards. They said 5 days - they did it in 3. They cleaned up completely each day. We could not find any nails on the ground any day. They were punctual and professional. When we needed a roof on our current house, we called them. Simple one layer tear off and replace. They coordinated with our electrician with no problem or complaint. They finished in 2 days (told us 3), and left the place spotless. The house has cedar planks and they cracked one. They replaced it without any problem. We love these guys!

 + -1 moreWent well. They didn't push to do any more than what was absolutely necessary to solve the immediate problem.
Description of Work: Asked the company to come out and quote cost of repairing a roof leak. Estimator/roofer came out while I was at work, inspected the roof and went ahead and did a repair. Explained that the repair might work, but that roof may need more extensive work because original job badly done. As it turns out, the leak was prevented in 90% of rainfall. I think he did all that could be done on the cheap and I appreciate that he just did the work and trusted I would pay for it if I thought it was reasonable.

 + -1 moreRich Kennedy, the salesman, was very knowledgeable and very professional. The installation crew arrived on time, was polite, and did a very good job. They were flexible and reasonable in adding work and acquiring materials to perform it from local hardware stores, namely 2x6s for replacement of fascia that had not earlier been slated for replacement, for not much added cost.
Description of Work: Tear-off and disposal of old roof on garage. Replacement of rotten fascia boards. Installed new roof, including dimensional shingles.

 + -1 moreThe work looks good from the ground. However, my old farmhouse has brittle old shingles. I made it very clear to the estimator not to drill into or damage the shingles. He reassured me that they would not do that and noted it on the estimate sheet. The crew arrived earlier than they said they would. They began the work before I could catch them. Of course, they drilled screws into the shingles. They claim that the holes will not leak, but this is clearly nonsense. Since no obvious damage was done, they would not seal the holes. Now I have to repair the holes myself.
Description of Work: They created and installed new gutters on site for an old farm house. Some old gutters were replaced.
