Best part of work is that tenants wanted it fixed immediately, and it was a Friday afternoon before the Memorial Day weekend. Motor City located one of their techs in the area and he was there within 90 minutes (4:00 pm.).
The tech ran a quick diagnostic and immediately realized the a/c was working appropriately. He found that the filters had never been cleaned and the sides of the outdoor a/c unit was covered with lint. He cleaned both and then went to check the venting and thermostat in the house. He discovered that the tenant had the thermostat set incorrectly, and he spent the time to teach the tenant how to work the programmable thermostat.
The tech performed a full diagnostic and cleaning of the a/c unit at my request. For over two hours of his time, on "overtime", the price was very reasonable.
