Everything went okay. The furniture was moved with no damage, other than the leg of one cabinet got chipped. Things seemed to go pretty slow. There were 2 guys, they were very nice and friendly. One seemed less involved and did not move very fast. I was hoping for a quicker move. Therefore it cost about $200 more than what I had anticipated. It was an extremely cold and windy day which might have affected the speed. I would use them again and recommend them, I've heard the horror stories about movers and am grateful that my experience was far superior to any of those.

Mike, Brian and Landon showed up at my home on moving day on schedule and ready to work. After a quick tour of the home they got right to work. It wasn't long before I realized that I had underestimated how long this move would take and how much stuff I had to move. Their response was that "it's part of the job, we work until we are finished". They worked hard all day and into the early evening and barely stopped to eat lunch. They were even able to get my large and awkward pieces from one basement to another. I could tell that there was definite experience on this team. I would work with them again.

I was really disappointed. The scheduling experience went smoothly and I had read good reviews on Angie's list before hiring them. I had moved a lot between receiving my quote and them showing up for the day of the move, and when the movers walked in they said it would take half a day rather than a whole day as expected. It still ended up taking a whole day; not because there were major issues but because they moved unbelievably slow. My parents came over to help and noted the difference between the (lack of) speed of my team and what they had seen from the movers their neighbors had just used (similarly named company that's a direct competitor of this one). I ended up moving a significant amount myself to and from the truck because they were literally dragging all day. The driver was gruff, but his helper was nice. They weren't careful when moving furniture, and in fact were bragging about being able to carry things like love seats by themself instead of double-teaming, all the while denting the walls. I bought them lunch halfway through the day and just received grunts. I wasn't expecting anything amazing, but some semblance of efficiency, professionalism, friendliness would have been nice. They did file a report to have our china cabinet fixed, which they had damaged during transit, but I didn't receive a follow up call from the company seeing how my experience was or following up on the damage (which was fixed by some company they contract with to handle such issues).

"Let me start by thanking you for your feedback. I welcome all feedback because it can be used to improve my business. I did pull and review your move sheet from 8/28/2014 and did note that there was a damage reported on the paperwork for china cabinet by the movers. Now once that got to our office you were contacted by Mike who sent out Artiste Furniture to repair this item. (Please note that No extra insurance was purchased, but we do our best to keep our customers happy sent them out anyhow at No charge to you) At that time there were no other damages or complaints reported to Mike when you spoke with him. The cabinet was repaired on 9/15/14 roughly 2 weeks later and we paid the bill which was $250.00. Again with no extra insurance purchased we were under no obligation to do this. I would like to apologize though for the gruff attitude of the driver, Deron has been with us for 8 years and is a former Military vet. I am not sure why he was in a less then professional mood that day but at this time I really can’t address to him something that happened months ago he would have no way of recalling it. I did go over your comments with the men and told them they need to put their best foot forward 365 days a year. Had you other concerns been reported at the time of the china cabinet I am sure we could’ve resolved them all. It went really well. So well that I don't know how it could have gone any better. Mex, Jon, and Gene were thoroughly professional and also fun to be around. I'd packed about 70 percent of my household and labeled the boxes as requested in the pre-move planning brochure. Despite the rain the guys were cheerful and fast.
I'm still kind of amazed that we moved me in three hours. I think the use of a third crew member was the key, as I was advised that paying a higher rate for the three man crew would pay for itself in the overall speed of the move. I think that turned out to be true.
The fact that I could pay by the time unit, rather than by the job, made me want to try Men on the Move and it worked out really well. Some other places I called wanted a lump sum for the job, but without coming out to see my place and my possessions, how could they do a fair estimate? They couldn't. So I highly recommend Men On The Move, and Mex, Gene, and Jon in particular if you're lucky enough to get them.
