Excellent company, workers were very knowledgeable, polite and helpful, they laid down tarps so they wouldn't track snow in the house, swept up all debris, couldn't ask for more. The biggest problem, was not of there making, but it was, waiting for are Village inspector to arrive and make a final inspection, two of there workers stayed for hours, after completion of the job, waiting for the inspector to show up, he finally showed up late the next day (so he said), we weren't home. I would highly recommend Kelley Bros. They are A+

I came home to a very cold home.  The furnace was not working.  I started calling after hours lines  for various providers based on Angie's List reviews.  Eddie represented the 4th or 5th company I called, but was the first technician to respond.  As I stated above Eddie was on the phone with me for about 20 minutes trying to help me solve the problem myself.  Eddie was ready to come to my home and help, but another provider called and was almost at my home.   The quoted price was higher then other providers but the timing of the other provider is why I chose to use them.  Kelley will be at the top of my list for my next problem.  Thank you Eddie.

Excellent installation, personable crew, etc.  I think their prices were a little higher than some others but we liked dealing with a stable, solid, somewhat large company so we went with them for the trust factor.  We haven't regretted it.  By the way, we have learned that installing a whole-house backup generator is incredibly effective for completely protecting the whole neighborhood ... the power outage rate has dropped to about 10% of what it used to be before we spent the money!  ;-)

The one thing I would do, if I were Kelley Bros, is to give their phone answering person (who apparently is often the only person in the office) some pretty complete instructions for some basic things, such as what to do when the generator red light comes on, or where the reset button is and what to do with it.  The Generac owner manuals are awful.  When the Kelley Bros phone person says "use the reset button" and refers us to the manual (which does not mention "reset button"), it is just frustrating.  Customers shouldn't have to wait around for a service person to call us back on how to do this apparently very simple, but not quite simple enough, action.

I have been working with Kelley brothers to have my generator from Generac repaired since 11/6/2013. It was installed in August. Generac has determined it will be covered by warranty and after completing part of the job on 12/10/13 Kelley brothers determined they had the wrong part. It is now 1/3/2014 and they were supposed to complete the job today but called 1 hour after they were supposed to arrive and said people are without heat so they won't be working on my generator today. They have scheduled my repair for 1/13/2014. IF they complete the job at that time it will have been 2 months and at a minimum I will have been without power twice already this season. We are supposed to get a significant amount of snow tomorrow night and they have informed me they would likely come out, for a charge, if I lose power. They have informed me it's taken so long because "it's a big job." The owner would not answer my call when I tried to speak with him on 1/3 either. Do NOT trust these people.
Response from Kelley Brothers
"We understand [remove member name] frustration and we were working on a solution when this comment was posted. We wanted to respond directly to this review since we feel some critical information was not included. We don’t feel this information was left out maliciously and understand that when one feels nothing is being done in, what they feel is, a timely manor, memories can be foggy. We know it wasn’t stated, but it seemed to be implied, and we want state a fact. Kelley Brothers DID NOT installed [remove member name] Generac generator. We do know that it was one of the Big Box stores. Being that we are an authorized dealer, we were called to repair [remove member name] generator since it was still under warranty by Generac. When our technician arrived on site and looked at the generator, all of the wiring had been ripped out and the stator/rotor was damaged. Since this type of damage could only have happened due to vandalism (which isn’t covered under warranty) our technician had talk with Generac to get it coved under warranty, so [remove member name] wouldn’t have to pay all of the repair cost out of her own pocket. Our technician then ordered the necessary parts to complete the repair and since the parts are not common for maintenance or installations, the parts had a longer-than-normal lead-time of three weeks. When we received the replacement parts from Generac we sent our technician to complete the repair. It wasn’t until our technician was on site the second time and 70% complete with the repair, that he realized Generac had sent a wrong part in a bag that was mislabeled. He was unable to complete the work and had to notify Generac to have the correct part shipped. When we finally received the part, we called and scheduled the third visit for January 3, 2014, to complete the repair. When January 3, 2014 arrived, Winter Storm Hercules had started. We were expected to receive more than 10” of snow and the temperatures were sub-zero. We had two major issues we were dealing with that day. The first was that we had many “no heat” calls and elderly people were in situations that could become life threatening if not handled immediately. The second issue, it was unsafe to have our employees working outside in sub-zero temperatures. Since [remove member name] had power and was not in danger, it was unsafe for our technician, and we had other elderly customers in potentially life threatening situations, we called to reschedule. To our fault, we should have contacted [remove member name ] earlier to reschedule and for that we apologized to her. To our defense, we were trying to figure out away to service her generator and it wasn’t until around her appointment time that we realized we just couldn’t. [remove member name] did call to talk to me (the owner) and I was unavailable since it has been all hands on deck since January 3rd. We have been working with Generac to get [remove member name] serviced by another contractor since our differences in personalities can’t work. I can assure we are a trust worthy company and if anyone looks at all of our reviews they would agree. Kelley Brothers guarantees 100% customer satisfaction and offers 100% money back guarantee. While the events that transpired as we worked to repair [remove member name] damaged generator were unfortunate, they were out of our control and we are very sorry that [remove member name]cannot understand that."

I called Sue back to say all was well and thank her.  I really appreciate a company who has someone on the phones who can troubleshoot like that.  It solved our problem without costing us a penny - except for the new batteries.  I know there are other companies that would just send a man out and then chanrge you for the call even though the fix was simple.  I really appreciate Kelly's honesty in its dealings and we will deffinitely call them back when we need service!!

Installation of the subject equipment was per discussions with salesman.  The work included black-pipe gas piping, auto-transfer switch, setting the generator and all interconnecting wiring, including modifications to our circuit-breaker panel to separate the ground and neutral wiring busses.  The workers were punctual and professional, I would recommend their work.  I asked for a minor rerouting of the wiring from the auto-transfer switch to the generator which was accommodated without question by the electrician.  The switch was placed on the basement wall according to our desires.  They also were fastidious about keeping our house and yard clean while they worked and cleaning up when they were done.  When we interrupted their work to ask questions, they stopped and answered in a cheerful manner.  One of the workers even stopped to replace a short screw in our back deck with a longer one to prevent the riser from sticking out (nice touch!).  When the installation was complete, they explained the operation of the unit to me and my wife and left us with all printed equipment manuals and demonstrated the actual switchover to generator power for the house and back again.  To date, the generator has operated as designed, running for 12 minutes each Wednesday at noon.  It sounds like a lawnmower, but then we were told that at the onset.  We have not experienced an actual power outage in the month since installation.  The proper permits were pulled with the city of Royal Oak and the work passed the initial city inspection.  The workers did not have a loud radio blaring while doing their work, which was very much appreciated.

The Master Electrician that did the electrical installation is EXCELLENT! He was professional, showed he cared about the installation and ensured that in all aspects that it was done correctly. The inspector who verified the installation as required by the township also indicated that the work was done correctly and was also impressed with the overall quality of work performed inside the existing panels and in the new transfer switches (1 for the house and 1 for the interrupt A/C Service).
I'm looking forward to the next power outage in my area!

Everything was exactly as we were told. When they came for the sales call, they were on time, did a thorough job of reviewing our exact situation, and preparing a personalized, detailed estimate. They also explained exactly how the install day would happen. They even said that they are not the lowest price provider. We knew this, but we got another estimate. The Kelley Brother estimate was about 10% higher than the other estimate (much closer than we expected). On the day of install, they arrived at 7:40 am and finished at about 1:00 pm. There were a couple of questions during the install. The guys explained the situation and the alternatives. The power was off for only about 1 hour, while they hooked up the generator to the electrical. None of the workers left until everything was done, explained, and demo'd. Everything was thoroughly and consistently explained. There were no hidden surprises whatsoever. There were no hidden, or extra costs whatsoever. I could not be more pleased with the job they did for us. We would definitely use Kelley Brothers again and recommend them highly to others. They are not the lowest price, but they are the best - so professional, so courteous, so kind, so skilled.

Came out within a few days of request.  Determined problem quickly and repaired the breaker.  The generator itself was not broken. The repairman showed me how to reset the generator should that happen again in the future.
I originally used Kelley Brothers when my generator was not working at all in the fall of 2012.  Another company had informed me I needed a new generator (the company that originally installed it) and it was not repairable.  The gentleman from Kelley Bros located the problem and had the generator up and running in a few hours.  He believes it will last at least a few more years.

They arrivd when scheduled and performed the maintenance on the generator. I was prepared to pay them for the annual service, but they reminded me that I had already paid for three years of service when we purchased the generator. I had forgotten this fact. Dealing with them had been great from the installation through the first year service. We have recommended them to others in our neighborhood. When I need furnace or A/C work they will be my first call.

They had the wanted generator in stock and did an install the day after Christmas 2012. They arrived exactly on time and spent the better part of the day doing a complete install. They were exceptionally professional and knowledgeable. They cleaned up after their mess and provided a complete explanation of how the unit operated. They said they use only factory trained full time employees. My wife and I were very impressed and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone. They have an annual maintenance program and are available 24/7 for emergency calls. The generator has run purrrrfect on all it's weekly 12 minute test runs to date.

The tech showed up right on time and got right to work.  He was very professional and extremely nice.  He found the problem pretty quickly (our handyman had flipped a switch he thought was a light switch  but ended up being the switch to the furnace).  However the tech told me he would feel bad if I had paid the full amount and all he did was flip a switch so he checked a whole bunch of other stuff.  He told us our filter was the wrong size, told us how the humidifier worked, how to shut off and turn on certain areas of the house in the ducts, etc.  He made sure our A/C was working correctly.  We learned so much that day!!
.
Kelley Brothers were the only HVAC company that was willing and able to come out within 24 hours of our call on a super hot day when I'm sure they were swamped.
A+ service from beginning to end.  I've recommended them to neighbors who have used them and were equally impressed.

I called Kelley Brothers when I got the run around from another authorized Generac authorized service center.  Despite having a 17 KW auto switch over generator, I had only 50% of my home electrical working.  It had fired up for the power drop and then when the power went back on from DTE, the generator shut off but only part of the house was powered. Naturally, this was the refrigerators, freezers, garage and other vital parts of the house.  I called my normal representative and they called back saying their tech would call, but he never called.  I went back and forth with them for most of the day when they told me I was scheduled for July 8th (1 week later for emergency service).  I went home from work early and did the research and found the Kelley brothers on the Generac company website.
I called Kelley Brothers at 4:29 pm today and beginning with the lady answering the phone EVERYONE was responsive. My loss of power was important to them.  They said how much it would be and they would send someone right over.  Honest go God, in 21 minutes, the tech (Greg) was knocking at my door. He had already read my generator maintenance and performance information from my unit and assessed things before he knocked. He removed his boots, and went right to the basement and had the issue figured out in 7-10 minutes. One quick trip out to the truck and a few more tests and the thing was fixed, assessed and the credit card charged.  He did not rip me off or over inflate what he did.
I am glad he put his stickers on my panel because they are going to be my go-to peeps for electrical needs from now on.  Their boss is going to come and give me an estimate on trenching for a conduit to power my boat hoist and illuminate the flag pole.  I also have outside low voltage lighting for the front and a few other things I want done.
I have a lot of experience with contractors and this guy was professional and focused yet friendly. Unlike the other contractor, this contractor gets the idea of an EMERGENCY call for generator malfunction.  They did not dismiss me like the company I spent about 14K with over the last 3 years  They are my new contractor of choice.

The AC stopped working.  I found their contact info from Angies' list.  My call was taken very politely and I was provided with an appointment within two days.  I was also told that there would be a charge of $79 for diagnosing the problem.  The technician arrived in time and identified the issue.  He provided a form where it clearly identifies the cost the repair, upon my acceptance he went ahead and fixed it.  t took less than 15 minutes for him to identify the issue and fix it and leave.

They quoted me a price which I thought was very high.  They also said I needed a larger unit than necessary.  I called my son-in-law and he referred me to a different company who gave me an estimate more than $1,000 less than Kelley Bros.  I consider that significant.  They ended up installing the unit the next day and also included cleaning my furnace, running a water line for the humidifier and cleaning out my ducts.  The other company was superb.  I felt like I was being taken advangtage of by Kelley.  The owner actually showed up after calling me to come out when I hadn't returned the call.  I will say their office person was great.  She was courteous, friendly and helped me replace my airconditioning filter in this office before anyone came out.  The representative had told me that I needed I think a 2 and a half ton unit and he would have to check the numbers on the unit to make sure.  The other company said he already knew what I needed as it was written in black and white on the old unit they looked at.  That's when I was really angry.  Kelley Bros. was nice, but $1,000 difference???? Why, because I'm a woman???? Thanks to my son-in-law.

They did an excellent job. The person that came was very professional, courteous and explained everything to me.  He showed me the part that was broken and how long it would be gone to get it. He was well within time frame. I felt that the price was worth it.  He gave me his cell number in case you need anything.
