+ -1 moreI called they were out here in a little over an hour. He pulled the toilet & found a rawhide that evidently one of our dogs had dropped in the toilet & some how it got flushed. He replaced the ring, and bolts, and cleaned up everything. Took him about a half hour. Very nice and professional gentleman.

Description of Work: Flapper valve on my toilet kept leaking. I had replaced flapper valves many times before, but when I did it this time, it didn't fix the problem. Capitol came out at a time that was convenient for me, and replaced the flapper as well as its seat with professional-quality parts.

+ 0 moreCapitol City Plumbing is any excellent company to work with. If it's an emergency, they do their best to get to you ASAP. Everytime we've used their services, the plumbing issue has always been resolved the first time and never had to call back to and quot;repair the repair. and quot;
Description of Work: We have used the services of Capitol City Plumbing for several years. This time, it began with clogged drain in kitchen (disposal wouldn't work & water would not drain out of sink) This happened the day after Thanksgiving. You can imagine not too many plumbers work the day after Thanksgiving and also what awaited our plumber after hosting Thanksgiving dinner the day before. I called Tim & he was there that morning to clear out clog & get our disposal running again. A few months later I noticed the sump pump pipe that comes out of the house and goes to a pipe in the ground had come apart due to ground sinking. Tim & his partner came and fixed the problem quickly. In fact they put a special fitting on pipe so that if we had to get into pipe, we could easily remove this fitting without damaging pipe. They have also updated our outdoor spigots that were constantly dripping water and have fixed our clogged drain in master shower. I believe the total cost of all these services was approx $600.00 (paid in different increments depending on service rendered -- at least 4 different service calls)

+ 0 moreI have used them several times and they are always friendly, informative, and professional. They charge reasonable prices compared to several other places in town. Once, I used them to unclog a toilet - they charged less than $100 for the service, while another company in town I had used previously charged twice that amount. I recommend using this company unconditionally to anyone!
Description of Work: Had a problem with water backing up in our basement after a huge rainfall. Tim and Scott were able to locate the problem and fix it quickly. I don't know/remember the "technical" terms so I can't describe it other than they had to "unstick" a floating ball in a drain to allow the water to run into the city sewer.

I got the distinct feeling they were looking around for other jobs they could recommend repairs on, instead of what they were called for (I know I have an old house that needs work, but prioritize what I want to fix by what I have a budget for). They weren't too keen on giving a written estimate, but said they'd have one sent. I received it later that week (~$1300, which is a bit higher than I expected and was quoted elsewhere) but with NO other info relating to the work they would be completing. So, a no go...
Description of Work: Called for an estimate to replace the cast iron 'stack' in my basement as it is quite corroded. Other small repairs would be to replace an outdoor frost-free faucet that was leaking, replace a leaking kitchen sink sprayer and rough-in a 'port' for a future dishwasher, run a water line for the fridge ice maker.

+ -1 moreThe original estimate was $200 for the work. When they got into the job, there were extra issues (no shut-off valve for toilet downstairs). They took care of all the problems and only charged an extra $40, which barely covered the cost of the hardware. They came when promised and left everything clean and neat.

+ -1 moreInstalled faucet was OK. Repaired faucet did not work properly after the repairs. It took 5 days to get him back. Major problem repaired but still does not work properly. Faucet has little pressure. It is beginning to leak again. We give up.
