Firehouse Doors

Estimator was prompt and walked us through all of the details. We ordered the doors, and it did take a follow up call from us to get an update, but from that point forward everything was great. The two installers were right on time, spent all day doing the install, and made sure everything was working properly. I didn't have power next to two of the units so they left them in manual operation. When I installed power to them I was having trouble getting them back into automatic operation and they were kind enough to come back out and show me how to re-engage the units. I was very happy with the level of service and professionalism.

I called over weekend, received a followup call on Monday as expected. We setup a time window for Thursday (my choice) which was 12-1. It's great to receive such a specific time, with many companies moving to larger time windows. Service guys showed up right on time, assessed the situation... even helped me move a couple of things out of their way. The parts needed were already on their truck. They were completed with the repair in about a half hour. Fast / professional / fair pricing. I would use them again.

Called and left a message in the evening stating that my garage door springs were broken trapping my cars inside, and a cell phone number to be contacted with. I called again after 9am the following morning with no answer. I again left a message and my phone number without any response. Don"t waste your time. Call someone else.

We called approximately mid-November and Mike (owner) came out to our house within a couple of days. He explained the various types and models of doors along with the various accessories associated with the door. We gave him our list of items that we would like to have with the new door and the style. He gave us a very reasonable price which included a discount for being an Angie's List member. With the holidays approaching we opted to wait until after the New Year, he stated that we shouldn't wait too long as the there is usually a price increase towards the end of January. At the end of January, we ordered the garage door was told it would that be several weeks before it would be delivered. One important point was that we wanted the door to match our existing house color, however the doors did not come in any color that was close to our color. So if we wanted our color we would have to paint it ourselves, which we opted to do. Once the door was painted, we called and set up an appointment for the installation, which was done within several days. Installation took about three (3) hours and they took the old door away. The next day another installer came out and installed the remote access for the door, this allows us the enter the garage without a remote by just entering a code number. The garage door we ordered was for a two-car garage and was insulated. We also ordered a new garage opener with a belt drive making it very quiet, two car remotes and the outside access. The external hardware of the door gives it a "carriage style door look" We are very happy with Firehouse Doors and with our new garage door.

I don't understand what happened. I called and scheduled an appointment for the next day for the estimator to come look at the house. Everything was set, and I left work to meet the representative at the house. twenty minutes after they were supposed to arrive, I called and left a message stating my name, the fact that they missed the appointment, but I would wait another 10-15 minutes. No one ever showed up, nor did I ever hear from the company. There are plenty of other companies out their, and I will not recomend using this one.

Called and set a time, promptly came and repaired the door.

Most of my calls were answered by a recording, but Mike was always very prompt in returning my calls and he was very accommodating with setting up an appointment (I was delayed once and had to change it shortly before our time.) The initial visit was done by techs (rather than a salesman) who were nearby and could come over quickly. They found out that I already had another estimate and they called in establish the cost. (They were familiar with the models and what was needed, but not the pricing.) They made sure my first estimate was undercut so I used Firehouse Doors for the replacement. They were able to come out the following day to replace the door. In order to get windows to match a second adjacent garage door I had to wait for a special panel to be ordered. I was told it would be about 2 weeks for it to arrive and be installed. I had to call back after 2-3 weeks and finally the window panel came in and was installed although it wasn't for 5+ weeks after the door had been replaced. Overall I was pleased with how responsive, competent and friendly Mike and his techs at Firehouse Doors were.

Firehouse was 1 of 4 estimates I received. They were the most competitive and very professional. The garage door was installed less than a week after receiving the estimate. I am very happy with the services I received and would recommend them to others.

I left a message on the Firehouse Doors voicemail around 12 noon and Mike returned my call about 2:30 p.m. He let me know he was on his way to another job and inquired as to whether I needed him to come out the same day or if the next day would be okay. I told him it was not imperative that the repair be done the same day. He informed me he was not sure if he would be able to make it to my house (an hour away) by the end of the day, but he would call me either way and would be at my house by the next morning at the latest. Mike indeed called me back at 6 p.m. and told me he was 20 minutes away from my house! I was thrilled, and he showed up 20 minutes later. Upon seeing that I have a 3-year-old son, Mike immediately explained why his company is called Firehouse Doors- because he is a fire fighter! My son was in awe, especially after Mike showed him a picture from his phone of his own son demonstrating a fire hose to some local children. Mike was extremely personable and polite, even offering to take off his shoes to walk through my house. He quickly diagnosed the problem with the garage door and got to work, all the while managing to chat with me and my son. My son did not take his eyes off Mike the whole time- he was so curious to know what the man with the tools was doing in our garage! By the time Mike had finished the repair less than 30 minutes later, I had learned a bit about his family, told him a bit about mine, and learned some interesting things about the construction company that built my house. He only wanted to charge me $72 ($80 minus the 10% Angie's List discount). He was so nice and so fast that I asked if I could make a donation to his fire department (we had discussed budget cuts). He wasn't sure how to go about doing that, so I wrote him a check for the full $80 (I couldn't believe how inexpensive his after-hours service call was!) and promised to make a donation to his favorite charity. This family man and his work ethic warmed my heart! I don't think I've ever been able to say that about any service professional I've encountered. I highly recommend him.

I called shortly after 9 and they back within minutes after I left a message and told me they could be here later in the day. Later they called and let me know approximately when they would be here. (the other company I called whose slogan is "service in hours not days" did not return the call until the end of the business day.) It was great overall experience. Andy was very informative. I would definitely use them again.

They came during my assigned time frame. There were two men and they were friendly and professional. I am a woman and I was there by myself but I felt completely comfortable. They even programmed by garage door opener without charge (a nice little bonus) and looked over the door to make sure everything was in good working order. I would absolutly use this company again. When I made the appointment I spoke with the owner, it is obvious that customer satification is a priority.

Firehouse Doors was awesome! They had someone out to my house really quickly and spent time to properly diagnose the problem. I have a four-car garage with two large garage doors, and Firehouse Doors carefully inspected both and eventually diagnosed a bad circuit board in the one door that was opening itself at random times. Firehouse Doors replaced the bad circuit board, installed a new wall button (since that button was also broken) and reprogrammed three remote controls and an outside wall panel. Firehouse Doors are fast, timely, and very professional. And, the price was very reasonable. I will definitely use Firehouse Doors again in the future!!

This week was my "bad garage door week," but it turned out to be not so bad after all. Same day service on both occasions from this company....WOW! Firehouse Doors is A+. The gentlemen who came to my home were friendly, efficient, fast, knew what they were doing, and honored my Angie's List coupon which I almost forgot to give him. He gave me the price to fix the door before I told him I had the coupon, and then took 10% off of that price so I knew he was being honest. with the pricing. The second visit to line up the electric eye by the owner was done out of kindness and courtesy. There was no charge. He came at 6:30 p.m. when I had just called him at 4:00 p.m. that same day. I'm sure he had worked all day and wanted to get home. In 2 seconds he did what I had been trying to do for about an hour. Thank you Firehouse Doors!

Our garage door broke on the friday before Memorial Day. One of the two spring broke. My car was in the garage, and I could not open the door manually. Because of the holiday weekend, I was looking at possibly not being able to use my car until the next Tuesday. Firehouse was able to squeeze me in for end of the day service on friday. And, at that they arrived early, so I was very thankful. They did the work quickly and were very tidy. I was very pleased. They honored the Angie's 10% coupon. I marked price as "good" and not "excellent because it seemed like a lot but I have absolutely no idea what the going price is on this kind of repair. Highly recommend.

Had a 16'x7' garage door installed. I had purchased the door from Menards, but upon reading of the dangers of removal of old torsion springs on garage doors, I decided to hire a professional. They charged $350 to install the door, and $75 to install a new opener (which I also had previously purchased). They showed up a little earlier than expected, and were in and out in 2 hours flat. They removed the old door, installed new door, new opener, and took all the scrap with them. I was very happy with the price (cheaper than paying Lowes or Home Depot), and the service was quite quick. I wish I had looked them up before buying the door, as they offer doors cheaper installed than buying a door and then paying them to install it.

Overall a great experience. The door price was comparable to others in the area and installation was fast. The crew arrived on time and completed the job in about an hour and a half. The new door is quiet, and the installer provided guidance on lubrication, painting the door, and beefing up the opener rail.

I've used them on two separate jobs. Both times they were excellent! Their price was about the same as everyone else, so I didn't mark them as excellent on price. But their service was excellent both times. They were quick. They cleaned up after themselves, no screws laying on the ground to get stuck in a tire. ( that happened with the first company I used about 10 years ago.) I would highly recommend them.

Repaired garage door that wouldn't go up. Came out the same day that I called and repaired the same day as well.

I'm not sure where to start. I'm probably going to forget something, because they did so much above what was expected of them. I found Firehouse Doors on Angies list. I read all of the great reviews and decided to give them a call. Mike answered the phone and lucky for me he was in the area and stopped by that day. Mike was very knowledgable and understood exactly what i was looking for. It took me a couple of days to look over the options that were presented. I had a couple other garage door companies out as well, but they just did not seem to be as knowledgable or professional as Firehouse Doors, plus Mike's price was better than all of the rest. I called Mike and told him that I decided to go with his company. Mike came out and met with me personally to place my order. I really appreciated that he came over again to make sure we had everything correct. My door was a special custom door that he said would be in in about 4 weeks. One of the many things that I really liked about Mike was that he kept me informed of every process along the way. The door and opener came in on time and Mike and Andy his installer who has 20 plus years experience came out and installed my new door. Everything went perfect! not a single problem. I asked Mike if the garage door company had any touch up paint for my door incase it gets scratched. Two days latter mike showed up with paint at no charge. He drove 30 miles to their distribution center to get my paint. I have had lots of services done around my home and have never had any as professional as Firehouse Doors. I would definitely use them again!

They gave me a great price and helped me rehook existing openers. I was very happy with their work!

I called Fireshouse and they had someone out to do an estimate in 1 hour. They are making all the necessary repairs in less than 24 hours and for a very reasonable price. I am very happy with their service and the promptness in which they addressed my broken garage door. Very nice people to deal with.

They were upfront and gave us a good quote. Their price was good. They were very good at getting back to us and were very accommodating as far as coming to my work, dropping off samples and meeting us whenever we could. They were good people to deal with; they were actually firemen.
