Not finding a local drape cleaner in Angie's List, I proceeded to contact and get a quote from the dry cleaners in my immediate area (Highland and Milford, MI). I contacted several cleaners and got a price quotations ranging from $85 to $122 for cleaning the drapes. One cleaner cautioned me that the pleats might not be there after cleaning, another charged $2.50 per pleat extra to press the drapes, another said the lining may not hold up to the dry cleaning process.
My requirement was that the drapes and valances be returned, cleaned, undamaged and with the same pleats I have now ready to hang up.
Highland Cleaners said they would do a good job and estimated $85. I spoke with the owner and she agreed that the drapes would be returned cleaned, undamaged and with pleats as they have now. I was impressed with the confidence that they had in their work and ability. Three business days later I picked up my drapes all nicely cleaned, folded on hangers' and covered with plastic for protection. Thank goodness as it was pouring rain outside at the time. Highland Cleaners did a great job, as they had promised, and the bill was only $1.00 higher than their estimate. The drapes are back up on the windows, undamaged, and look great...including pleats.
