Creative Design Flooring

We are so pleased with the results that Creative Design Flooring provided.  We recently purchased a house that had 800 square feet of prefinished 2.25 inch red oak floors with bevels and two adjoining rooms with 240 square feet of carpet on the main floor.  I had initially hired a well known Detroit area floor sanding company to do the job of installing the 240 square feet of new flooring in the carpeted areas and refinishing all (1040 square feet) of wood flooring prior to moving into the house.  However, when the other contractor showed up on day one, he apparently decided he didn't want the job because he left and stopped returning my calls. 
I was desperate when I called Hank at Creative Design Flooring.  We wanted to have the floors installed and finished before we moved into the house.  Other floor refinishing companies were telling me they were booked two months out, and I couldn't wait two months to move into this house.  I called Hank and told him about the previous contractor.  Hank showed up on five days notice to refinish my floors over Fourth of July weekend.  If you've ever tried to hire a contractor, you'll know that this is next to impossible.  Hank and Wade worked July 3rd (Wednesday), took July 4th off, then worked July 5th (Friday), July 6th (Saturday), July 7th (Sunday), and July 8th (Monday).  I was adamant that I didn't want to see dark lines in the bevels marking the seams between the boards, so Hank filled the bevels (about 1/32 of an inch) and then sanded everything and applied three coats of finish (with a buffing between coats 1 and 2).  You can't tell that there is filler there unless you get down on your hands and knees and look at it closely.  I am really impressed with the results.  The portions that Hank installed are indistinguishable from the refinished existing wood (another major concern of mine).  Although there was initially a significant height difference between the old wood and new, there is now a mirror finish that extends right across the dividing line.  Since the floors were refinished, I've had several contractors and neighbors over to the house, and all of them have commented on the floors.  One contractor said it best - "They did a really good job on these floors".
If you choose Creative Design Flooring, there are a few minor things you should know.  First, Hank's van leaks some oil.  If you've just had a new driveway put in, you might want to ask him to park on a plastic drop cloth or something.  Second, if you are very particular, you might have to paint your shoe molding or baseboards afterwards, but this would occur with any floor refinishing company.  Third, there will be some dust.  Wade did a great job with cleanup, but you should expect some dust, as you should with any floor refinishing company.  These are not big things to me.  Overall I was very pleased with the results and the completion time and would choose Creative Design Flooring again.
