First, we came home to a chandelier that was no longer hanging (it had been spun too many times during cleaning and came unscrewed from the ceiling), a sensor from our security system missing from a window (which rendered our protection on that window useless), and a ceiling fan being put back together wrong. In the end we spent two hours fixing these issues. Kelli did apologize about the chandelier (and offered to have her son come take a look at it - which we declined) and I know mistakes happen, but overall coming home to three mistakes we had to fix was disheartening...it seemed she was careless.
Second, despite making it clear on the phone that I would be needing a ballpark time estimate on our job...she was unwilling to give this when she came and looked at the house and the work we were asking for. This made me uncomfortable, but she thought it was likely she could get most or all of the work done in 8 hours...so we put an 8 hour cap on the work with the understanding that she may finish early or not quite get finished. In the end she did not even complete half of our house. Kelli said that the fixtures took more time than she anticipated and did not have time to clean anything in our upstairs. I just wish Kelli would have called when she realized she could not even come close to finishing what we had discussed. I had made it clear how much we could afford to spend on cleaning...and we were paying her our entire budget. If she had called I would have had the opportunity to tell her what the priorities were. Instead I came home to a note on the table that said the upstairs was not touched.
Third, Kelli left a note saying our downstairs was completely finished. However, it was very obvious that there were walls she never touched. There were walls in three of the four rooms downstairs that were still coated with dust and had definitely not been washed. I could have forgiven some of the other mistakes - if things were cleaned immaculately...but they weren't.
To Kelli's credit she did call and leave a voicemail that night to explain why she was not able to complete the work we discussed. She mentioned numerous times that she would like feedback and wanted to make sure we understood that she had worked very hard and things just took longer than expected. She also said that her son would come over and take a look at the chandelier if we needed help with it. I appreciated the follow-up and sent her a text explaining I would e-mail the next day to give feedback and let her know what our frustrations were. I sent a very detailed e-mail relating all that I have written here. It has been five days and I have yet to receive a response. So disappointing! I expected to at least receive an offer to come back and wash the walls that she said had been done, but weren't. It surprised me that someone who seemed very concerned with our feedback - would not respond to it or try to make our grievances right. I would definitely not utilize Kelli's services again and would not recommend her.
"Thank you Member for taking the time to respond to my services. I sure wish you would have talked to me personally, I was unaware of your concerns. As far as the T.V. being on a station that you normally do not watch, when I am cleaning your home , there is a half hour show, I" listen" to when I dust. It is called enjoying everyday life, and gives me a very positive out look. I am only" listening" to some good things like someone would the radio.I apologize, I should have asked if I could listen to the program while cleaning. I remember trying vinegar, dawn dish soap, and water, as a glass cleaner and I found it left a streak or a small film. So I stopped using that for a glass cleaner.. I appreciate every opportunity to clean for people, and try to keep long term clients, so I hope that you will please let me know if you have any other concerns with my services, so that i can try to rectify them. Sincerely Kelli"
