About us
Curtis Cleaners has been family owned and operated since 1951. We provide free pick up and delivery service (Dry Cleaning, Shirt Laundry, Wash-Dry-Fold, ect) to greater Grand Rapids. We utilize the latest technology in our wet cleaning washers and dryers. Our European Tensioning Equipment allows us to wet clean garments that normally need to be dry cleaned, which in turn helps us be more enviromentally friendly. Our 3rd annual Coats for Kids and Vets Coat Drive brought in over 1,600 coats (December 2010). We cleaned and donated them to several area charities including Mel Trotter, DA Blodgett, Flat River Outreach Ministries and the Grand Rapids Home for Vets.

I was somewhat disappointed in the work they did. The issue was I needed to have a king size quilt laundered so I did not use their dry cleaning service; I just used their laundry service. When I got it back it still had some pet hair on it and it still had some pet stains. I would definitely not use them again. If the work had been done properly it would have been a fine price, but because it did not come out that clean I did not think it was that great of a value. They offered to redo it, but she pretty much let me know that it wasn't going to come out much different. I think she was honest, but I don't think the work came out very well. It was done when they said it would be done.
Their company has been such a gift to me! I am on their route delivery so I simply leave my bags out at my front door. They pick them up, clean them and drop them back off at my house. So easy! On occasion, I'll drop my bags off to one of their locations (Michigan Street, Fulton Street or 28th Street) As soon as I step in the door, they immediately seem to know which business they are for?and sometimes I've never seen the person behind the counter! Shows that they take the time to get to know their customers. I can also call the owner on his cell phone when there's an immediate need or question and he's always prompt and professional. They really make it easy for me and I wouldn't think of using any other company to do my laundry.
I've also been impressed with their ability to dry clean and get stains out without harming the garment. I recommended them to my parents recently who had been using another company (their logo is a bow tie) without great results. (They would often complain to me that they took something in to get cleaned and either the stain wasn't removed or the garment was damaged or they would simply say they couldn't get the stain out (without even trying) without damaging the garment. So, they tried CC and were most impressed that the garment came back in excellent condition and stain free!
