Description of Work: installed a new shower head and shower handle/spout. It was a very difficult installation due to the shower handle that I purchased. The company was excellent in their service and professionalism. The price was a bit higher than I was estimating, but the end result was great. I'd hire them again.

Overall, the work that Mike performed was very good. He did what he said he would do for the price quoted. Only one complaint in that they did damage my kitchen cabinet but did not offer to repair. It was nothing major but now I have to take my time and fix it.

Overall excellent service!!!! Highly recommended! A little back story: I had the guys from Cregger come out to replace my shut off valves. My valves were old and starting to rust, plus they wouldn't shut off the water all the way no matter how hard I tightened them. I know that replacing them would involve metal work and soldering, which I wasn't prepared to do my self. I'm concerned about three things when it comes to service calls. Promptness, Quality and Cost. 1) Promptness: As promised the service technician called when they where about 20 minutes away. They promised to be out between 9 and noon and where in the house working before 10 am. I'm was very pleased that they followed through with there timing promises because scheduling home services around my work and life schedule can be difficult. 2) Quality: What can I say, my technician was very professional and recommended a few minor tweaks to make the job even better. My pipes were a little crooked and not flush against the wall. He offered to fix that so in the end everything looks better and is more functional than before. I was very pleased with his goal to do everything right the first time without sacrificing quality. 3) Cost: While I'm not an expert with how much these things cost, I did find a coupon here on Angie's list that gave me $88.00 off the service. So my total bill was < $300. With just basic knowledge of how much these things should cost I think I got a fairly good deal. Especially considering the level of quality I received.
Description of Work: Replaced the two main shut off valves inside my house. One from the city into the meter and one from the meter to my house.

They have an answering service which answered promptly and the on-call service man returned my call promptly as well. I was able to schedule a same-day service call for a backing up sewer line. They were able to come even earlier than their allotted time window. The only down side is the price was higher than I anticipated, when I was charged a base rate of $145 + $1 per foot of drain line cleaned, which he stated to be 75 feet. To be fair, I asked prior to scheduling what the cost would be, and I was told it would be between $145 - $245. I did not ask for clarification on how the range was determined, and assumed it would be based on how long the job took and difficulty of the job, as was my experience with other companies. The tech called me after and explained there was no problem with the job, and couldn't determined what had caused the blockage (no excessive roots, nothing else pulled out) so I expected it would be the lower end of the price range and was surprised when told the fee. I did appreciate their prompt response, and I would call them again for service, but I will ask for further clarification on their pricing, if I do need to call again.

We were somewhat annoyed when the technician arrived and almost immediately asked to come back at a later date. He had other customers waiting. We told him we had made the appointment in advance and this was when we needed the job done since my husband and I were off work for that day. He then did the job and reported nothing really wrong except some fine cracks in the line and a low pitch in the connection from the basement bath to the main. We thought we were doing well and patted ourselves on the back for doing this preventive maintenance. When we had to have them back on April 11 to solve the backup in the basement, we were told there was no price reduction based on how recent the last call was but needed the work done. This technician said he found only a small amount of TP and that next time we had someone out we should have them camera the lines. We told him they had done that less than 2 months earlier. A week later the same backup occurred and Cregger said they could not come out until the 22nd at the earliest. I pointed out that by that time I had spent $1000.00 with them. The answer was I will talk to the boss when he gets back from his jobs. We ended up calling in Michigan Supreme Plumbing on the 19th because again the basement bath backed up. The technician actually said Cregger was a good company so he was surprised that this had happened. When he snaked he didn't find anything out of the ordinary. I asked if his company did any camera work and he quoted me$150. We made an appointment for the 21st and while looking through the pipe with the camera, the low pitch was noted as well a ridge that TP had caught up on. When Cregger did finally call they offered nothing but a maybe for Saturday but by then we had the other company out and the problem solved for the time being. I requested a refund since I went from no problem to spending a thousand dollars plus to fix what was not apparently broken until they started "working on the pipes" butt that was not agreed upon. Lesson learned. Angie's List helps but sometime contractor's get sloppy and big britches because they feel invincible.
Description of Work: The original service was performed on February 27, 2013 for $845.00. Although we had made the appointment more than a week earlier, the technician tried to put us off when he found out the total scope of the job. He wanted to come back at another time because he had other customers waiting. We had him snake out all the drains under the basement floor from each of the cleanouts and to the main line. They also ran the camera through all but the storm the lines but the storm trap. They found hairline cracks throughout and a low pitch in the basement bath line. We did this service as preventive service to avoid future problems. On April 10th 2013 we found that the basement bath was flooded with foul water. We called the company and had them come back out. Since the do not warrant their work, we had to pay $155.00 to have the one line snaked. All they found was a small amount of toilet paper. On April 19th 2013 the basement bath again backed up so I called the company. They said I could go on the schedule for 22nd or 23rd. The backup affected our main bath and shower use so I had to find another company. I called Michigan Supreme Plumbing and Drain Cleaning Co. and they had a fellow, Justin out within three hours. He snaked the line to clear the problem. We then decided to have that company back to camera the line and we clearly saw the place where things were snagged (a small amount of TP). Cregger called back around 6 pm and said they were not responsible, they didn't care how much we spent , they would try to squeeze us in on Saturday and they would not refund any of our money.

Response from Cregger Plumbing, Heating & Cooling
[member name removed], Thank you for taking the time to report as well as talk to me on the phone the other day. While i am less than happy that you are not pleased with our efforts to help you, i would like to also respond here to some of the points in your report. First, we responded immediately to your first request for service and made no attempt to put you off. Our technician spent a good deal of time taking care of the many things you wanted completed. Once finished, he camera inspected your system and noted immediately the poor pitch issue and warned you it might become an issue. this was put in writing and fully explained to you. To state that " I went from no problem to spending a thousand dollars plus to fix what was not apparently broken until they started "working on the pipes" Is an attempt to blame an issue that your home has on us. If my snake could cause a back pitch issue with drains, just by running them through, than it is very likely drain cleaning as we all do it now would become obsolete. What you are claiming is not possible. I am always open to listening to any complaint any of my customers may have and doing everything i can to help solve it. Attempting to justify a long standing issue by blaming it on us i not something i can fix. Nor is it true. I am unable to help you with this problem. In addition, the second plumber you called in fully substantiated our findings and gave you estimates to open the floor and replace the lines. Back-pitch is either caused by improper installation or broken drains, not by snaking. Second, You had a second backup on your system a short time after we completed the initial work for you. As drain cleaning is not warrantied, you were charged. This was brought to my attention and in or phone conversation, i stated i would gladly refund this for you. I am not sure if you took me up on this as you have never called back to let me know. I would be happy to discuss this further with you at your convenience. i am having trouble understanding the "big britches" and "invincible" comments. As i called you both on Friday evening when i was told you were unhappy, as well as Saturday and Monday. You called me back late Monday and we finally got to speak. It would appear all attempts i have made to try to make this better have failed. I always appreciate all feedback from my customers, be it good or bad. I wish i could do more to try to help you. you have all of my contact information, including my cell. If i can help, please call Sincerely Derek Mackie Master Plumber

He decided that the first attempt didn't really fix it so he went ahead and fixed it on the return visit, and he gave me a credit for the work that they had done previously. I think he was real honest and he did fix the toilet and it works now, and the fact that they gave me some money back for the first that didn't work was good. He was professional and I liked the fact that he shared what was being done with me. He was clean; he had to go through the living room to get to the powder room so he put little booties on. He was very respectful.
Description of Work: I've used Cregger Plumbing and Sewer twice. The last time I used him was a return visit to check on a toilet that they had come out to fix previously.

David did a great job. He had to pick up additional supplies and called to let me know when he would arrive. The attic is difficult place to work. He worked quickly to remove the old broken pipes and replace them in the correct position and with proper supports. He cleaned up and took away the old pipes. The job was completed in less time than estimated and the job looks great.

They were very good. I bought a coupon. I had to have more work done and I didn’t use the coupon. When I had them for the second time, the girl in the office reminded me that I still haven’t used the coupon. So they will just take that coupon. She didn’t have to do that and I had forgotten about the coupon. I really like the fact that they were honest plus they did a good job. They were on time. They were the first team that came out here when they found they couldn’t unplug the drain. I had to call and they sent out another team which dug up the cement on the basement floor. They ended up unplugging it and they did a very, very good job. I had no problems with them. They were on time. They did what they said they were going to do. They did good work. On price, I think they were about the same as anybody else. The guy that came up the second time, when he couldn’t get the drain unplugged we had to dig up the cement again the second time. He went back out and really worked out at it. He did get it unplugged so he went above board on it. I was very, very pleased with them. I will use them again and I will recommend them.
Description of Work: I used Cregger Plumbing & Sewer Service. My main sewer line was broken and they had to go in and unplug it. They had to tear the cement up and the floor of the basement. They had to go in there and do everything. It was quiet a job. It was all plugged up. I had them out twice.

They did a wonderful job and they were great guys. They were on time and worked really hard. They came when they say they would come and called before coming. However, they could not repair the sink right off because it needs to have more extensive plumbing work done and they gave me a nice estimate on that. They told me exactly what I needed to have done and what the cost would be.

I was quoted a price for the job, and after it was necessary to leave to buy the uncommon connector part, I was informed of a $25 increase for services. I was fine with that and the plumber proceeded with the installation. He made sure I was 100% satisfied with how the dishwasher was set in place. When he was done, he cleaned up as if he had never been there! We started it up and it has worked perfectly! I purchased the $200 coupon for $111. My total charge was $300 (pre-discount). So, I had to pay a balance of $100. My total out of pocket cost (including the coupon) was $211. The job took a while, so I do think that the price was ok. I am just happy that I was able to use the coupon.

The project ended up being more complicated than originally estimated because the clog was pretty far down. The plumber tried to do the work with a hand roto tool but that didnt work. So he had to use a power roto tool to get the job done. He had to go really far in the pipe to find the clog. At one point he had to go into the bsement and consider whether he had to put the roto tool from an access point in the basement but that idea was dismissed. The original quote was $150, and after a while I was told it would be $200, which eventually went up to $250 before all was said and done. For the time actually spent on the work I thought that the $250 price was fair, although it was troubling that the price kept going up as the project went along when I had hired them originally with the $150 quote. I got a little nervous because I wasn't sure what the final price would be until the very end. The plumber was very pleasant and professional, and he seemed motivated to solve my problem. He arrived on time. Other than the unexpected (but fair) increase in the final price, I was very pleased with Cregger.

water leaked from pressure lease pipe of hot water heater, called Cregger Mechanical System, and the office personnel responded immediately. The service man, Derek, arrived on time, went down to basement, checked the water heater, gave diagnose of the problem, and replaced the defected pressure release valve. The charge is $200, which is high for replacing a valve, but the work is well done and Derek is super nice and helpful. I used the service of the same company twice in a month, and the company gave me the coupons of $110 for $200 work both times. Thank you.

They came out in February. We bought a deal online. The guy wasn't able to fix the faucet that wasn't working. so the owner came out and he was able to fix it. I can't remember when they came out. They fixed everything, so I was happy. They were trying to take the faucet off and it would not come off and the 2nd chap was able to do that. I liked the owner and I would use their services again.
