I only negative thing was that the technician that came out told me that someone from the office would contact me to give me an estimate for the suggested repairs, but no one ever did.
I felt like she was trying to scare me, telling me everyone thinks they have only one mouse and they are probably nesting in my attic. I said no, that I'd wait until Tuesday. She said someone could be out at 4pm. I wavered for a moment. She talked about Hanta virus and I was scared so said ok.
Then they didn't show. I researched Hanta virus which is not really a problem in metro Detroit. Nothing to mess around with, yes... but this isn't the southwest or UP. I caught my one mouse on Saturday night.
CJB Called me monday after 3pm and left long apology saying they could get out to me this week if I called for appt.
On maintenance program now with other exterminator.
"First I would like to say that we are very sorry that we missed the original appointment. We almost NEVER miss scheduled jobs because we book by appointment. Our saleswoman was not attempting to scare anyone, or make them feel as though they needed something they didn't. If mice are seen inside of the home, it is 99% chance they are already nesting inside somewhere. Random Mice do not try and run in from outside and be running around inside of your home looking for food. We were being honest with her, AND we told her about Hanti-Virus because all though it is VERY RARE for these parts, it is still something that is associated with mice droppings. So we advise our clients that if they do come across droppings to use an anti-bacterial spray first or use a damp cloth when cleaning them up, not to use a dry broom or vacuum. We are only trying to advise our clients of the best & safest practices of dropping removal. I am sorry if she misunderstood that. Scare tactics are not and never will be part of our practice. And if she is with another company on a "maintenance program" for mice. She is being taken advantage of. If you do mice treatment correctly the population should be eliminated within 2 weeks and sealing off openings from the outside will prevent future problems. Maintenance programs for mice are not necessary for residential homes. Unless you have problems with them getting into exterior furniture or hot tubs/generators. We do honest work and I apologize again for missing the appointment but we did attempt to reschedule it the same day. We try and provide detailed information to our clients so they understand their problems and know what needs to be done to prevent them in the future. As you can see from our other reviews, we are a quality operation."
They were prompt, answered questions in detail (including why our off the shelf ant killers were not working), and then proceeded to spray our home. There was a 15% Angie's List discount that we applied too.
All ants disappeared the next day, and we have not seen any since then 1 month later! They have a 6 month guarantee.
We are very happy with their service and results.
"Yes we did the inspection. We gave him a price to get the treatment done. If the treatment is not done that day (which it was not) we ask the customer to call the office to set up an appointment time that works for them. All we needed was a call from him to set the appointment which we obviously did not receive. I apologize that we did not get back with him. Follow up protocol with technicians for cases like this has been changed so that events like this do not happen again."
I definitely intend to use their preventative services in the future (or...GULP... if I do get some sort of infestation). I highly recommend you do the same.
"When we do an inspection we advise the customer of what the problem is and what needs to be done. We always advise our clients to call and set up an appointment if they would like the work done. We showed no return calls from her after the inspection was done. We did leave a message after the initial visit to call us for an appointment."
We had a great experience, and highly recommend anyone to use CJB's services.
"The customer in this case does not understand the pricing (or what they eventually needed) The cost of a detailed exterior inspection to let the homeowner know where they are vulnerable to wildlife/rodents getting into a home, inspect the attic for signs of nesting, setting up of the trap, and for 30 days worth of trapping (includes any return visits within the 30 days) was $119 after her discount, then $50 per animal removed. That is a very good price. We were out 5 days after the initial trap was set and we noticed the bait was gone and the trap was tripped. When this happens it is because there is mice in the home as well (they can squeeze into the openings of a live trap and get the bait/trip the trap) We advised her of this but reset the trap anyway for squirrels. We then went back after a week and noticed the same thing (with mice droppings around the trap) She said to just pick up the trap because they had sealed the openings themselves. So we picked up our traps. Advised her of what is going on. She obviously thought she could do things herself. Don't understand why she is giving a sub par review. She wants a refund? So we evaluate the house, set the traps accordingly (because all signs originally pointed to squirrels) , do 2 follow ups and she thinks she is entitled to a refund? We advised her that what she paid so far we could apply to a mice treatment but they said they were done. (In rare cases, some homes can have signs of past squirrel infestations. Stored walnuts, pine cones, etc.. So when we set the traps it was based on evidence in the attics). When we returned for the first follow up we advised her of the possible mice problem because squirrels cannot remove the bait and trip the trap without getting caught. We did the best we could with the evidence presented to us, then when we noticed something else needed to be done they declined and said sealing off the openings themselves would take care of it. I am sorry if she didn't catch squirrels when her problem eventually was mice. Which they declined to get treated."
CJB is definitely on my list for my new home.
