Tom is very nice and professional and easy to work with.  He gave us solid quote in a timely manner and came when he said he would.  He found out the problem was something other than we suspected so he fixed it at a fraction of the cost and was able to take care of some other issues we had at the same time.  He kept touching base with us during the day about what he was finding and recommending we do.  He worked really hard during a super hot day but was always pleasant.  Would use him again in a heartbeat!

Tom (Wire Works) has won himself another loyal customer.  He performed an impossible feat and then ended up giving us money back! 

I called Tom, along with several other local electricians, on Tuesday evening to inquire about the possibility of  getting an outlet put in for a sump pump that was to be installed in my house on Friday.  This was, of course, impossible, but I thought I'd give it a try.  All the other electricians either laughed along with me, or offered to get to it a week later.  Tom, however, said, because we were in East Lansing, there was a chance he could get to it Thursday afternoon, or if not, then first thing Saturday morning.  Sure enough, Tom called first and then came by on Thursday afternoon.  When he arrived, we briefly discussed the job, decided on specifics, and he got to work.  Tom is friendly and professional in his manner, and efficient and exact in his work.  He was done an hour and a half later.  He gave us the Angie's List discount, which made his already competitive rates even better. 

I have to relate one further little detail that reveals what kind of a guy Tom is, and why we are so enthusiastic about him.  By a slip of a pen, and my own lack of attention, I overpaid when writing Tom the check.  So good was his work, and so proper his manner that we were reconciled to the cost.  But then at around 7 that night Tom knocks on our door and 'gave back' the difference.  What a guy!  Honesty, professionalism, and precision work.     

From our first contact, Tom exhibited a very professional manner.  He called when he said that he would, he was prompt on the day of the installation, was as neat as he could be with our messy work, and did an excellent job.  He answered all questions and was very pleasant to work with. We will use him again for any of our electrical needs.  

Tom is a great electrician and very pleasant to work with, I would recommend him 100% to anyone. He came the next day after we talked and did the work perfectly. It was a nice bonus that he offered a 10% discount to Angies list customers. He is personable and businesslike and extremely intelligent. He is also aware of what he can and cannot do, and will not hesitate to recommend someone else if he knows he's not the best for the job. This job was simple and he could do it easily, but in talking about other projects in my future I was impressed that he was willing to potentially turn down a job if he felt that it wasn't something he was great at. I will definitely use him in the future.

The name of the guy that came out was Tom Mullaney. He was excellent. He explained everything he was doing and why he was doing it. He made sure that I understood what the problem was and what he was doing to fix it. I would always like it cheaper but I really can’t complain about the price. I would definitely use him again.

I agree with all of the favorable comments previous reviewers have made about Tom's work.  First, he knows his field well, having received good training and experience in electronics before venturing into starting his own business.  I was able to learn this because I had the opportunity to chat with him at some length since we were both working outside while he grounded the antenna.  A second thing I learned about him is that he has had training in business, as well.  This shows in the professional way he handles calls and appointments.  He always either answers his phone immediately, or gets back to you promptly.  He also is excellent at explaining things, and is genuinely interested in helping you solve your electrical problems in the best and most cost-effective way possible.  I made a follow-up call to him after he grounded the antenna, when I found out that my tv still would not recognize the antenna after being repaired.  (He didn't do the tv repair--I sent it out for the repair.)  He explained that the tv antenna's transformer might have been damaged by the electrical storm, and advised I go to Radio Shack to get a new transformer.  He also answered a technical question I had regarding how he grounded the antenna.  In all, I would say that Tom enjoys his work, is pleasant to work with, and will get the job done well and quickly.  His prices are competitive and he offers a 10% discount to Angies list customers.

We had serious straight line wind damage that caused a critical electrical issue for our home.  Following contacting our electric company, we were told that an electrician would need to repair our electrical mast (the power line attached to our home).  We found Mr. Mullvaney and WireWorks through Angies List, and he was able to come out the same day I called him to evaluate the repair.  He then was able to fix our mast, and replace our outdoor deck light as well as fix the lighting wiring to deck light.  

The storm damage to the mast was a serious issue as the neutral wiring had been ripped away.  We had power surges following the storm before ultimately losing power.  If Mr. Mullaney hadn't been so timely with his repairs due to the nature of the electrical damage and potential fire hazard, we may lost our home.  We can't thank him enough for all professional service and assistance he provided.

Tom came out in the evening, the same day I called. He was very friendly and gave me excellent advice.

The experience could not have been better. Tom is a great electrician and very personable young man. He went way beyond the call of duty when we noticed a slight opening between the dryer vent and the wall. He went outside, crawled under our deck, and filled the opening with steel wool and insulation foam, and he did it in bitter cold. Call Tom for your electrical needs.

I was totally impressed. The installations and repairs took far less time than anticipated and thus were far less costly. Tom was extremely knowledgeable and well-organized. I had a young grandchild who followed him around and he was kind and considerate to her, even letting her "help". When I need additional electrical work, I will no longer feel a need to check around, I will simply call WireWorks. I would not hesitate to recommend him to my friends, in fact, I already have.

Tom was very friendly, answered all my questions, gave me his opinions without being pushy about anything. He was very willing to help me stay in my budget and agreed to delay some of my electrical tasks for a future date when I can afford to have more done. Tom even made suggestions that would save me money in the long run, even though it meant less work for him. Tom arrived on time the day the work was scheduled and worked quite late to get as much done that first day as possible. I was only without power for about 3+ hours, even though he told me it could take as much as 5 to 7 hours to get power back once he started work. He arrived the next day and continued on the various tasks working around the plumbers and HVAC folks also doing work in my house that day. Tom also took care of the building permit and dealt with the inspector. Everything seemed to go quite smoothly. Plus, Tom gave me the Angie's member discount on the final bill -- which helped my budget a lot. I will definitely be calling Tom in the future.

Tom Laney was the best. He came in and updated the electricity with ease and professionalism. He had no problem when we added more things that we would like to have done. He treated our house with the same respect and care that he would have treated his own. We will definately use him again.
