We had to make several calls with no response several times to get the problem addressed
Description of Work: We had a new roof from this company when our roof was not even leaking. After he replaced the roof it has been leaking. He keeps blaming that it is not their problem and is the chimney problem. He comes after several phone calls and has never fixed the roof at all. We still have the leak even after the warranty period and am looking for some one to fix it. We were fine with our old roof than with a new roof as our old roof was solid and good. We just replaced it because it was old.

Not good roof still leaks they used old flashing and now I have mold and I paid to have wood replaced which was never done Now I have to replace roof again properly and pay all over again. I have to replace the wood which is now rotted. Had city inspector here to inspect. Owner will not fix the shoddy work and I have to have it redone again for double the price. I now have mold and damaged drywall .

He gave a 5 year warranty on workmanship but will not honor it. He did so many things wrong that kitchen ceiling collapsed. He was called out to see what went wrong and said it was fixed. But it is now leaking again in numerous places in house have been calling him for 3 days. He either won't return phone calls and when he does says he will send someone out but not him. Have been waiting for 3 days no one showed up and now will not call us back. We have pictures of all the shoddy work. Had to hire contractor to fix collapsed ceiling out of my pocket. Roof is only 2 years old and had problems since he did it. Now have to hire another roofer to repair his shoddy workmanship and have to hire someone to repair damage agin in house.
Description of Work: had him put on an entire new roof

Description of Work: By far the lowest quote for our roof, but they did a great job. No major issues. Only minor gripe was trying to get the job scheduled, though we were hampered by weather. Tom is very easy to talk to and very friendly.

They did a good job installing the roof in 2011 and cleaned up well afterwards. They were on time and worked fast. Only issue I had was getting them to come back out 2 years after the install to fix a leak that appeared to have been caused by a wind storm.

good job he responded to all my phone calls when i wasnt sure about things Shigles didn't lay down at first for a month or so and he said he would bring the manufacture rep over in spring but now they seem to be fine. He always called me back Update I have asked at least 3 times for extra shingles (as he mentioned it when he first did the job) I even offered to come to his location to pick them up. At one time he said he would leave on the porch To no avail I still don't have any extra shingles incase of a storm and some blow off. I think this is his way of if ever that were to happen we would have to call him to do the job. Not too happy about this so I am changing my ratings on this contractor. Didn't follow thru with what he told me

The workmen showed up on time...and they completed the work as described. The tear off was conducted quickly and orderly and they cleaned up all of the debris without having to be coached, badgered, or reminded of their resposibilities. Overall this was a very painless process and I would use them again without question.
Description of Work: Waligorski Roofing did a wonderful job for me. The estimate process was hassle free and the price they quoted me is the price that I was charged when the work was done. If you have any questions for this company they are answered promptly and if you need referrals for other services that they don't provide, those requests are also fielded quite well. I needed to have the wood trim on my house changed to a more maintenance free option and was able to get a GREAT referral that did a wonderful job. I recommend Tom Waligorski Roofing highly and have referred a number of other people on my block to this company. They too had great results and were well satisfied with the work.

BIG HINT: Watch HGTV and especially EVERYTHING Mike Holmes does on Holmes on Homes. He does it right and you will learn a lot about what to do and what not to do. Also, get your contractors through Angie's list... I know I am from now on. When you get a contractor to do things... 1) Have CLEAR goals for the project and explain them to him/her. If they don't know your goals you are both just asking for trouble 2) Do the research... find out what is the right way to get things done. 3) GO OVER THESE steps with the contractor and MAKE sure your estimate includes ALL of these. INCLUDING site prep and cleanup 4) Inspect their work step by step to make sure all the correct layers of work are done correctly. It is really easy to do shoddy work and then just cover it up with some pretty trim and all looks good for about 1 or 2 years (maybe) and by then you will never get satisfaction from the contractor and you will have a much bigger problem than you started with. Also.. There is "code" and then there is doing a good and robust job. "Code" is MINIMUM. The $ and time difference between "code" and a good, durable and robust job is usually very small. In my case it would have been a few hours and maybe $100 in materials. I would have GLADLY spent the extra few hundred $$'s to have the issues fixed when the roof was 1st done in 2007.
Description of Work: I had this company do the roof on my oak park home back around 2006. They did a very good job on a tough 3 layer tear off. BUT THEY DIDN'T PULL A PERMIT!!! And the local building inspector, who just happened to by driving by, caught them and nearly shut down the job, with the roof half torn off, just before a threatened rain storm. He ordered a halt to the work and gave them one hour to get the permit or he was going to shut the job completely down. I had to call and call the company to get them to pull the permit... This should have been a warning sign. They completed the Oak Park job and did a very good job and did a good job of cleanup so I forgave the permit thing and used them again to do my new house in Highland in the summer of 2007. Well I should have known that something was not right when I left in the morning and they hadn't shown up yet but when I came back from work that day they had completely finished a tear off and re-shingle on a 2,000 sq-ft 2 story home with only 2 guys. Here is a list of what they did not do: 1) Failed to notice or inform me of a significant amount of substandard flashing that was letting water into the house and caused extensive damage I later had to repair. at great expense. They had to have seen this, they were right there on top of it. The flashing could have easilly been fixed when they had the shingles off. 2) Did not replace several panels of rotten and moldy roof sheathing, they just papered and shingled over it. 3) Failed to put ice-shield over the small roof over my entrance (it is a heated space because it is directly attached to the exterior wall framing, not to the outside of the wall) 4) Failed to notify my and/or effect a repair on a section of sheathing that was not properly attached to the roof trusses (luckily it is not on the prevailing wind side of the house or it would have blown off by now) 5) Left gaps in the edging. Later I was doing some siding replacement and I started noticing all these issues. I called the company and very nicely and politely explained my issues. They said they would come out and look at it. This took several weeks of phone calls and delays and put-off's by them. There was always an excuse... "my truck got stolen with all my tools" was the richest of these since I know he ran several crews and had more then one truck. The phone calls and put offs went on ALL SUMMER. Mr. Waligorski came out to my house twice promising to put things right "tomorrow" or "next Tuesday" or whatever. I even offered to pay him what I would have to effect the repairs in the 1st place. I even had some materials left over from another job and I offered to help with tools (which I have all that is needed) and with gophering for materials so all he had to do was show up empty handed and the job would have been put right. Nothing but more excuses and more and more put-offs. In his defense.... he did give me a great price... but maybe that should have been a warning sign in the 1st place. After months of this I finally gave up... But now I am on ANGIE'S list. I KNOW how to do things right. I have yet to get the job fixed up... The recent downturn int the economy caused one of us to lose our job so money has been too tight....I am SO tired of being ripped off.

I originally hired this company in 1995 to put the new roof on my house. I was very pleased back then with the job they did. My roof is under a thirty-five year warranty, and they were very helpful and willing to take care of the repair when they came out this summer.
Description of Work: They did repair work on my roof. They did not charge me, because it is under warranty.

They did a very good job and the price was reasonable as well. Everything was cleaned up really well when they were finished. They went over everything a couple of time cleaning up nails and debris. They were done quickly and the roof looks fantastic.
