Defence was a great company to work with! Matt was incredibly helpful and responsive from the beginning of the project to the end. We were waffling on vinyl vs. wood and Matt quoted every product we requested and gave us his input about each product based on his experience. We ended up going with a treated wood fence for our 250 linear feet of fence line. Prior to construction we had to receive consent from the neighbors on three sides of our property and each neighbor wanted something different along their property line. Matt helped us develop solutions to meet everyone's needs. Matt hit his estimated start date right on the mark! Matt came out with the crew on a Monday, walked the property with us and the crew and went through the specifics of the job. The crew then completely removed the existing chain link, dug new post holes and set the new wood posts in concrete. They were very neat and removed all the old chain link and associated debris. Mike, the crew leader, and two associates returned on Friday of the same week and built the fence piece by piece on site. They started the job at around 9:00 and were done by 2:30! Once again they were very respectful and cleaned up after they were done. I feel very comfortable recommending Defence Enterprises!

Matt was great to work with. He was quick in responding to phone calls and e-mails. Matt was very professional, and the work that his company did was great! I have a very happy dog that can now run around the yard without a lead on. He also got the work done in just a few days. Thanks! I have an aluminum ornamental fence that was installed in 2002 by a different company. The installation work done was poor and improper. Some fence post started to come out of the ground because the post were not buried deep enough to get below the frost line. This caused our gate to break. I found Defence Enterprises on Angie's List with very good reviews and called Matt on 11/17/15 and ask for him to come out and quote the work that needed to be done. The quote was for replacing the old gate with a new gate and post, adding a new gate and post in a new location and repairing 3 post that were coming out of the ground. I received a quote for the project the next day on 11/18/15 and submitted my deposit. Matt quoted 3-4 weeks because of material availability from his vendor. Two weeks later on 12/3/15 the job was completed. Matt was very professional and easy to work with and stayed in contact with me throughout the entire project. Overall I am very pleased with Matt and his company and have no negative issues to report for this review. It is difficult to find companies that will do fence repair work so I was surprised when Matt responded right away.

Excellent! Matt was so easy to work with. I work a lot of hours and was not home for his initial review. We corresponded via email and phone and he was able to implement exactly what I wanted. Matt even came out 2 weeks afterwards when there were minor sink holes around the post and he filled it in with dirt. Superior service!

The owner, Matt Sparre, measured my yard and provided me with a written estimate/contract on April 22. I put a 1/3 deposit ($2000) down. Due to the number of previous booked jobs and the weather, his crew was not able to start until May 20. A four man crew arrived at my home at 9 AM. Once the final details were discussed, the yard was marked, fence post holes were dug, and all of the posts were set with site mixed concrete. A three man crew returned 2 days later (to allow the concrete to cure) and to build the fence and gates. The crew worked quickly, site building the fence and gates in about 8 hours They paid attention to detail and did not rush to complete the job. The gates were built in place and all of the hardware is very good quality. When complete, the crew cleaned up after themselves. All of the workers were very professional and considerate of my yard and my neighbors yards too. All in all, I am more than satisfied with Defence's work and I not hesitate in hiring them again.

Answered the hone professionally. Was knowledgeable and professional. We did not hire them because my spouse (originally tasked with finding someone) actually hired someone. I would definitely hire Defence in the future.

Job went great. The crew was on time and very professional. Job was completed over a 3 day period and would definitely use them in the future.

Matt and his team were great. We had 3 quotes and Defence came in competitively with the others but we chose them for their strong Angie's List rating and positive comments. It was a very good choice! We expected it to take 3-4 weeks from the time we selected them to completion, but it was more like 2.5 weeks and they even had a 3 day "rain delay". The fence looks great and we are very happy with the professional service and responsiveness we received from them! Highly recommend!

We contacted Matt Sparre (owner) on May 27, 2014. He came out promptly on the 29th and sent us a quote by email within a couple of days. We felt badly about and quot;keeping him on the hookand quot; since we were waiting on other quotes (which never came.) See Angie's List for the miscreant competitors that are listed on her site. We signed the contract with Matt and had a firm date scheduled for the work within a couple of weeks. Matt called and said that he had an opening come up and could come on 06/27/2014. The gentlemen arrived at exactly the time they were supposed to and the work was complete in the early afternoon. It is always reassuring to have employees praise the company owner and his business practices. These gentlemen were professional, polite and hard working. They had good suggestions and were knowledgeable about fencing. They were also forthcoming about anything we suggested that might not be feasible and ready to offer alternatives which worked. Clean up was fantastic to the point where they asked where we might like the dirt which was dug up be distributed. Overall, we are more than satisfied with this company and would not hesitate to recommend them. Considering the labor, materials, travel and expertise the price was very reasonable. Also, the responsiveness was greatly appreciated. It would be great if other companies would stay in contact with potential customers or simply say and quot;This job is too small/largeand quot; or and quot;I am booked at this timeand quot;. Just a response would be nice. Matt did better than that and we are grateful that he waited for us.

Matt was extremely responsive and professional. Although I do feel the price was fair, since none of the four other companies I contacted responded to my request, I have nothing to compare it to. Matt's team came out and installed the posts one day, and then completed the job approximately a week later. There was one issue with one of the gates, but Matt had this corrected the very next morning. I would definitely recommend Matt and his crew!

THEY STAKED THE YARD IN 1/2 DAY AND INSTALLED ENTIRE FENCE PLUS GATES 2 DAYS LATER- VERY HAPPY

They arrived exactly when they said they'd be there, and told me the project as a whole would take 3 days to complete due to cement having to set and the weekend. They removed everything the first day, then decided to put all the posts in as well. The next day, after the cement had time to set, they finished everything but realized that one of the fabricated lengths of fence had been sized incorrectly by the manufacturer. The third day in the morning, they came back with a fixed fence panel and installed it. They were very competitively priced and the fence is beautiful! They finished the job earlier than they quoted, and everything was perfectly installed. They even gave me some tips on how to clean it.

Matt came out and gave us an estimate. His prices were the best we have found and I priced out around 8 fence people. He never came out to the job site but his guys were very nice. They did a good job. I am very happy with my fence. There were gaps under my fence because of my uneven backyard. So they gave me the left overs so I can block my neighbors dog from sticking his head under. Matt was very accommodating to my request.

Very responsive to our initial inquiry. Promp tscheduling and on-time, courteous when providing the initial quote and answering questions. Quote was a little high, but they came with an and quot;Aand quot; rating from Angie's List! Since signing the contract and sending in a deposit - haven't heard a thing unless I initiate the contact. Tells me they are more a and quot;typicaland quot; contractor than an and quot;Aand quot; rating would suggest. Wonder if the previous raters were all family?

They did a wonderful job, and they were punctual.

Matt from Defense came out on the appointed time and talked with me about what I wanted done, and prepared an estimate which he explained and left with me. He was very friendly and appeared to care about his business and his appearance. Based on our perception that the price he was going to charge for the work seemed fair, we called him the next day and made a down-payment (he accepted a credit card payment over the phone) to start the work. It was a 2-day process, he explained, because they are careful to dig and set the fence posts in concrete the first day, and then they finish installing the fences the second day after the posts have set up. Matt called in Miss Dig to mark all the utilities, and his crew was there the next day to start setting posts. His only request was to be able to use the outside hose to mix concrete. The next day, the fencing was all complete. I was not able to be there to see all the work done, but the end result speaks for itself. Everything was installed in a neat and workmanlike manner. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the crew had not only made the corrections to the existing fence (broadening a very narrow gap in the fence at a driveway that used to have a gate installed) but that they straightened a number of bent poles that had been damaged over the years. The fence now looks as staight as it would if it was new! The fence was put in for my daughter's dog, and the first time she (the dog) had a chance to take a run in her new back yard, you could see how excited she was. That made the cost worth it, and having Matt and his crew do this installation was a great decision. Based on the high quality results at a reasonable price, I would certainly recommend Defense to anyone looking for a well-installed fence!

The project went very well and I couldn't be more pleased. After signing the order, the crew was out right away and demolished the old fence. They then set the new posts so that they would know the exact distance between posts in order that they could order the proper length fence spans. They cleaned everything up very well and left the place spotless. Matt had warned me that, because each span must be custom built since each was a different length, it would take about 4 weeks to get all of the materials in stock and built. While it ended up taking 6 weeks, that was not the fault in any way of the company. Their supplier had failed to ship all of the needed parts after 4 weeks so Matt had to stay on the supplier to finally get all of the parts. Matt was great at keeping me advised every week as to where we were on the progress of the project. Finally, the supplier sent the last parts and the next day, the crew was at the house and installed the fence. They did a terrific job working up to the tree and making sure all gates worked perfectly. There is no question that the installation crew does superb work and really knows their business. Their "can do" attitude is most refreshing and I would be pleased to have them do more work. Once again, they cleaned up so well when they left that your would never know that they had been there other than the beautiful new fence that they left for us. I'm looking forward to never having to paint the fence again (alleluia!) and just enjoying the beauty of the material and the smooth working gates. We placed the order on May 2nd and the job was finished on June 22nd. But, as I said, Matt kept "on the job" to assure that things went as quickly and smoothly as they possibly could. If you are considering getting a quote on fence work, I would highly recommend that you give Defence Enterprises a chance to give you a quote as I know that you will be happy with their work.

I liked everything about them. They did very good work. Initially they did not want to get the permit from the township. They asked us to get it. We put pressure on them and they eventually did get it. That was the only thing of concern about them.

We called to have fencing installed along the sides of our backyard (back property line was already fenced). We have a pie-shaped lot with a couple minor design challenges, including having an in-ground pool that already had fencing directly around it. (That would have meant we'd have a fenced-in area with a fenced-in backyard.) Matt provided several design recommendations, and we accepted them all--and couldn't be more pleased. One suggestion completely amazed us because it saved us about $2,000!!! Matt pointed out that the panels on that pool fence were still in excellent condition, and he proposed moving them to the perimeter of the yard. We agreed, and Defence removed the existing posts around the pool, installed new posts at the property sides, and attached the old panels to the new posts. In addition to the monetary savings, the yard feels much more open now. Workers were professional, courteous, and efficient. They completed the work in the timeframe estimated. The results are awesome!!

There were some appointment issues in the beginning. Part of that being my responsibility due to erratic work hours. We worked that out and from there it was nothing but good. I took their advice on the type of fence material and it was a very good advice. The installation went without a hitch and I now have a very beautiful fence around the backyard. The dogs are loving it, too.
