Ben was excellent! His personality and reputation of the company won the deal. The crew was exceptional. Like a fine tuned machine. I believe I have the best roof in the neighborhood.

I dealt with Ben and he was great! The price was not cheap, but I was getting a high quality roof and the price was comparable. Ben won the deal because of his customer service. He did not disappoint. The crew was like a well rehearsed dance team. Everything was orderly, quiet and clean.

It went very well!

My house (and the roof of my house) uses Structural Insulated Panels (SIP) for superb energy efficiency. After 20 years a small leak in the roof developed and caused a wet wood area that attracted carpenter ants. This effected only the top layer of the SIP.

Bloomfield's crew quickly understood and adapted to this unusual type of roof system. They found the leak source, removed the old shingles and the deteriorated plywood/OSB layer down to the original foam core. They then replaced the plywood with new, attaching the new wood to the original foam with spray foam for good adhesion. After that work was completed the remaining repair work was just like installing a new roof in the small patch (area) that was damaged.

My roof system has a 12/12 pitch which makes access and repairs very difficult. The two man crew brought a man-lift with them and accomplished the repair in a timely fashion.

I've known Jeff @ Bloomfield Construction for over 20 years. I've used his company on a previous home, and I've referred my friends to him for complete roof replacements. I've personally experienced nothing but good service and received glowing reports from my friends.

The people they send out for the job do a phenomenal work. They pay great attention to detail with their workmanship. They really stand behind their work and if the job is not done right, they will make things right. I can’t say enough good things about the work that they do. They do excellent work. During the job, they found that there was a wood rot. The job had to be delayed while they figured out how they would go about the job from here. It has started and stopped during phases. However, the project manager we used for this last job was semi-retired and the job has taken much longer than expected. When we had tried to contact him for questions and he was on vacation, there was no one identified as a point person to contact. We signed the contract in July and it is now November. The sun tunnels and siding have still not been installed.

Their pricing was very comparable to others. They were very responsive and got back to me whenever I had questions or concerns. They worked hard with us and did a nice job. Our house sold within twenty four hours of being listed which I believe had a lot to do with their work. Everything was very good regarding our experience with them.

The work they have done for us was excellent! Corey was the representative we dealt with at the time, but he is no longer with the company.  He was excellent and very responsive. We have since consulted with them on having other work done. However, their prices now seem to be out of line. We last obtained a quote for a small brick wall that had been damaged by a car in the driveway. They quoted a ludacris amount of money for the estimate. They wanted over $1,000 for the repair and I had found another contractor to do the work for only $125. While I wouldn’t say people shouldn’t consider Bloomfield Construction, they should definitely consider obtaining other quotes.
Response from Bloomfield Construction Co
"As a "general contractor" we couldn't even get someone out there to look at that small of a job for $125.00 let alone perform that job. That price seems very cheap and I question if a licensed and insured contractor was utilized? Either way I am sorry you felt the price was too high but with licensing, gas pricing, and health insurance requirements now brought on by our President there are minimums that need to be met on small jobs for us to remain profitable. We are glad you found someone willing to help you out and sorry you felt we over quoted your repair."

They are very professional and responsive.  There were many delays throughout the process but most were our fault, not the fault of the contractor's.  They worked with us despite this.
Great attention to detail.  Excellent sub-contractors.

The roofing job entailed removal of old shingle (two layers), replacement of some underlayment and fascia boards. New shingles and installation of roof vents, and replacement of gutters..  The work was quite satisfactory.  However, it took the crew almost three weeks to complete on a 1500 sq ft home (plus attached garage).  I have seen similar jobs done in the neighborhood in two to three days. During this whole time a dumpster was parked in our driveway, preventing access to the garage.

Work crews did not always show up, on time or at all.  At the first drop of rain, they quit for the day.  When I contacted the office, they did not seem to know whether their crew was on site, or not.

The work of the subcontractor who installed new gutters was absolutely atrocious.  Immediately after installation I had to call them back to reinstall a portion of gutter that was not draining.  In the re-installation they managed to split a fascia board.  Other problems with workmanship are still causing problems to this day, e.g. joining sections of downspout with thru nails which caused total plugging of downspout with debris years after the job was finished.  Leaks at every corner which has caused rotting of wood.

When I originally complained about workmanship of the gutter subcontractor, Bloomfield Construction arranged for the sub to come and repair, but never followed up with their own personal inspection.

Response from Bloomfield Construction Co
"This review has come 13 years after the work was completed? I checked our records on this file and there is no way we would take more than 3-5 "working" days to complete this roof unless there was a ton of rotten roof boards or weather related issue. I agree it is not more than a 3 day job in most cases. When we start a job our crews will call the office if it looks like ran and only stop work if they are told too by management. We make this call at times so we reduce the risk or water damaging to ceilings and insulation . As far as the gutter problem goes we do show a call into the office on 11-22-2000 for standing water and leaking of a few corners. Our gutter crew was sent out 2 days later to take corrective measures and the homeowner was present at this time. A water test was run and everything was fixed while the customer was present. The ranch style design of this home doesn't allow for the placement of many downspouts. This will almost always result in some standing water in gutters. Without the improper amount of downspouts and with many corners the water has nowhere to run and will sit. We always recommend additional downspouts to help prevent this problem, however sometimes homeowners don't want downspouts placed and new water running in areas where there are patios and sidewalks. Besides a call in Jan of 2001 for an ice dam on the flat roof porch we have had no communication form this customer. We try to service everyone that calls us with problems as quickly as possible. There is a reason we are currently celebrating our 20th year in business...because we service our customers!"

Never having to deal with an insurance claim before you can imagine the chaos that my wife and I were trying to manage when our washing machine overflowed. The water ran from our first floor laundry room right down thru the floor and into our basement. After contacting a friend and getting the name of Bloomfield Construction we decided to call them. The girl at the office was very friendly and immediately contacted the project manager (Dan). Dan was at our house within 1 hour accessing the damage. About 1/2 hour later the water removal team showed up in a nice clean white truck. Not only did they quickly remove all of the water from the flood, they brought in machines to start the drying process. Apparently this needs to be done so that there is no mold growth down the road. The machines ran for about 3 days and were very quiet. The service that I was really impressed with was the fact that they helped explain the entire claims process to me and my wife. They helped us handle everything with the adjuster over the phone and through the computer. They made the process much easier to deal with than we had heard it might be. Friends of our had hired a franchise outfit just a month prior and had a very difficult time understanding the process and communicating back and forth with the project manager and insurance adjuster. It took forever to get things resolved and put back to normal with the franchise group. Bloomfield Construction was completely finished with the drying and reconstruction of my basement in less than 10 days. I highly recommend this company to anyone filing an insurance claim as these guys have it down to a science and have been in business for close to 20 years.

The individual workers were on time, and work was detailed and precise. Problems were fixed without a problem. They cleaned up on a daily basis. The company representative checked on the work and with me on a daily basis. They answered my questions directly. A few problems were corrected immediately. They re-hung window treatments that fell. They hung new outside lights at no extra charge.

Clean, respectful work crews who did clean-up every day, which was very important to us. We had out of town guests, and they were working near our pool area which we were using while they worked, so debris or stray nails would have been a major issue. Extremely responsive supervisory staff. The end result was even better than we had imagined it would be. We had quick response on minor follow-up issues. Even better, 16 months later, when we discovered another minor glitch, the supervisor himself came out within two days of my call and fixed the problem himself. I highly recommend them, they give the best customer service I have ever received. I have a lot of experience with contractors, having owned and partially renovated or updated 10 homes in the last 20 years.
