Jones & Sons Asphalt Paving

It went well! They showed up on time, filled any cracks with a tar buggy, and seal coated my 300 ft driveway in about one hour.

Price raised twice from original quote. After tear out, much delay with dirt drive until repaving. Always excuses.

I used Jones & Sons in the beginning of May. I only paid them $1,300 out of the $2,400. They were not on time. They did not come when they said that they were going to come and I had to wait for a month. They were not responsive. They were supposed to come back and finish and it is now the end of July and they still have not. They did not fill out the cracks and raise the areas that they were supposed to raise. Their price was good but they are not getting the rest of the money.

It was a terrible experience. There were constant delays. One excuse after another - equipment breakdown, illness in the family, asphalt plant closed, etc.  Still, I didn't mind the delays. My message was, "as long as you do a good job, I am not in a rush".  Unfortunately, he did a terrible job. I came home the day he finished to find  a huge puddle (3ft in diameter and deep) in the middle of my new driveway. My wife had actually over heard one of Pete's workers say - "I could have done a better job, but Pete is always in a rush".  At first Pete was argumentative, but it was pretty easy to prove that there was a puddle. His solution was to roll in a groove between the low point in the puddle to a nearby ditch - an 8 foot long groove in a new driveway!  He did take $1000 off. I would have preferred a nice driveway.   Now that winter has come and things have settled, I now have two large puddles. Basically the driveway is flooded. Very sad since we saved up a long time to replace the driveway.

Our overall impressions are very good. He responded very quickly and came out and gave us a quote. He was very competitively priced and we leaned toward him. We have been very happy with the work so far. He was very prompt. I would most definitely use him again.

The workers were also very nice and helpful, the explained every thing they were doing and when it would be completed.

Arrived when they said they would, started work immediately,removed concrete edging took it away and started to lay gravel and compact it,continously checking for correct level and drainage, job was a little more complicated than they thought had to make slight curve to avoid part of house, did work without asking for any more money and finished the job in one day.they cleaned up after themselves and removed all debri and trash.Thoroughly satisfied with there work this is the second time I have used them and they always have done a great job for me.

Generally, they job they did was fine but there was a problem with the interface between front of garage concrete extension and the asphalt. I told the owner this and he said he'd come back at end of season and seal the interface. The reason for the problem was that they did not pack in the dirt prior to paving leaving an air hole that broke the interface. I called a couple of times but Mr. Jones never called and it seemed that he could care less as he had "moved on".

Everything went great and super quick!  I was on the phone for two weeks trying to find a company that I felt was reasonably priced. I was getting quotes for double of what Peter gave to me! Came out to my property on a Friday. Very punctual, very nice guy. Gave me a price and I hired them on the spot. They came out at 10am the following Monday and were in and out in 40 mins! What was even better is they had left over material that they placed out front of my home where rain water would pool up. Peter, his son and one other worker. I rate this company an A+++ and would use them again in a heart beat and I will refer all of my friends and family!

This was an excellent experience and we should have had it done 25 years ago!

Since his location was some 25 miles from my home, he had to park equipment overnight from his previous job. That kind of delay as well as cold and rain meant patience needed from all concerned.

They did a good job. They also did my neighbor's driveway. This is the third time that I have had this work done on my driveway, and they did a better job than anyone else. They put down more asphalt than any other companies.

Peter and the workers showed up as they said they would in the morning, and worked very hard and fast through out two days.  They completed the project days before I expected it to be done.  If any problems appeared, they took care of them immediately.  Peter is a good Christian man, he does his best, and expects the same from his crew.

Pete Jones (head of company) came within a day or two of our call and gave us an estimate. Less than a week after we agreed and sent a small deposit, he and his workers arrived with proper equipment and stripped off the old asphalt and the sod for the triangular addition we wanted. No damage was done to surrounding landscaping, and all debris was removed, leaving a neat driveway for us to use. A few days later, Pete called and set up paving for the next morning. They arrived on time (actually 2 hours early!) with a full team and clean and high-quality equipment -- paving machine, advanced roller, trucks, etc. They took the time to do the job right, carefully pre-sealing the base, leveling, ensuring the edges were straight and nicely beveled, and carefully compacting and smoothing with the roller. All excess asphalt was removed, leaving nothing but a beautiful new driveway. Our neighbors across the street were so impressed with the work that they asked Pete to cover their driveway with a new layer of asphalt then and there, and he did so! We couldn't be happier with this company.
