I signed my contract Thursday, I got a call to schedule my job Friday, and the roofers showed up Monday morning at 7:50 am, and left before 2. I have a small ranch house (1,300 sq ft) plus a garage (less than 500). They brought a large crew of men and were able to finish it in under a day.
I have only had my new roof for a few days, so I cannot attest to how their work fares over time, but as of right now I am satisfied.
-The crew did an amazing job cleaning up! I have not picked up a nail in my car tire yet and on Monday evening, my property was so clean you would have never guessed it was a construction zone a few hours earlier! I came home for lunch and noticed one of their crew going through my neighbor's yards (on both sides, our lots are close together) with their big magnet to ensure my neighbor's property was in good shape. I have a detached garage and when I came home for lunch I noticed the inside of the garage had shingle granules and nails. I pointed this out to the foreman and he immediately got one of his crewmembers over to sweep out my garage. This was understandable, I left for work earlier that morning with the garage closed so there was no way for them to clean it without me being home. They did such a good job cleaning my garage it was in better shape after the job than the day before (there was some leftover dead leaves in the garage from last fall!). If you have a detached garage I suggest leaving it open or planning on stopping by to ensure it gets cleaned up.
-The quality looks good, I climbed up on my roof Monday evening to inspect their job. The flashing around the chimneys looks like they spent a lot of time on it, instead of doing a half-baked job.
-My communication with my salesman was excellent. I found a small mistake they made (they forgot to install a vent above my bathroom) and my salesman addressed it the same day (they credited my account).

"Mr. Roof has risen to the largest roofing company in America by exceeding customer expectations. That being said it is Mr. Roof’s policy to be on time. So in this case when the representative arrived early he applied our standard company policy which is to wait down the block until the pre-set appointment time. Additionally, Mr. Roof tailors each roofing system to the homeowner. For example, if the homeowner is moving in the near future he would have a different expectation compared to a homeowner that is going to live in the home for an extended period. The point about the guarantee that he didn't mention at the time was you have to remember to call Mr. Roof when the roof is 10 yrs old for an inspection, and every 5 yrs after that. Still, that is not unreasonable although I'm not sure how I'm going to leave a reminder to myself to have it inspected in 2023. Furthermore, the first 10 years are straight-up covered for any quality issues. On the other hand, all the other quotes were higher AND had a "limited lifetime guarantee" on their shingles. In other words, if the shingles have been proven to have failed within their expected life, the manufacturer will replace them. The quality of installation, however, is not covered by that guarantee. If you choose a different company, that is a good question to ask of them.
The company sent a good-sized crew of men (5 or more). Only one was a fluent English speaker, but all I had to do was ask for him by name, and someone would get him quickly. Rain delayed the arrival time, but they still came and got started a little late. Even with the late start, the were in and out in the same day. They cleaned up after themselves, too. I found little bits and pieces of paper around, but so far the only nails I've found were ones that bounced up on the porch. They used a rolling magnet contraption to pick up anything magnetic in the yard.
We are very satisfied with the end result. The roof looks beautiful. No more leaks during torrential rains. Now we need to get the house painted to match our nice, pretty roof.

I probably could have saved a little bit by looking for several more estimates but I was well pleased with the salesman and they guaranteed that the job would be completed in one day. I would use them again in the future if the need arose and I would give them very good marks as to being able to deliver what they promised ! ! ! Recommended!

To clarify: their work on the roof was done very well and timely, but the kitchen was the main problem.

The roofing system was installed correctly and is covered by the ten year Mr. Roof no leak guarantee. The shingle manufacturer has agreed that the shingle is showing premature aging and has offered a court approved national class action settlement. To reiterate the roofing system is not leaking which would be covered under the MR ROOF workmanship warranty, but does have an appearance issue which is the manufacturers responsibility. Mr Roof is only interested in working on very simple roofs.
"At the time of providing an estimate to this homeowner, our estimator did not take into consideration some structural issues that needed to be addressed before a new roof could be installed on this person’s home. He was made aware of the issues several weeks after turning in his paperwork to the production department when the production manager visited the site to review the work order and material list before scheduling the install date (our work schedule was a few weeks out due to a busy season). We brought up the issues with the home owner, telling her we would not roof over an unsound structure, so our only option, since she was not interested in making the additional investment to make the structure sound, was to decline the job and return her deposit in full. We feel our company did the right thing by turning down her project under the circumstances. MR. * The estimate took 2 hours. The sales guy was confident and acted as though he knew that we were going to hire his company from the beginning. He brought example of every product that Mr. Roof uses and was very informative. At the end of that two hours, I knew a lot more about roofs that I had previously.
* The sales person will provide you with compelling reasons why you should spring for the expensive all-rubber shingle that is designed to outlast the cockroaches. But, ask yourself, do you really need a roof that is going to last for 40 years when, for about 50% less, you could have one that will last for 15 years?
* This company will haggle with you. We had estimates from other local companies and when our Mr. Roof sales person gave us a quote that was higher than the estimates, we called him on it. At that point, he had already spent two hours of his time with us and was really looking to close the sale. When we told him that we were not ready to make the decision right away, he beat our best estimate by $500, which sealed the deal.
The Actual Job
The crew showed up at 7:30 in the morning and worked nonstop until 2pm. They were a lively bunch and did not seem to care that my neighbors were probably still sleeping. So, if you live in a neighborhood where the houses are close together, you might want to warn your neighbors beforehand. They did the job exactly the way the sales person said they would; our sales person had explained in detail what to expect and he was not wrong, which was pleasing. Our bungalow had only four vents on the old roof. Mr. Roof put in an additional 6 vents (recommendation of our sales guy). Our new roof looks wonderful. Very satisfied with the work these guys did.

"The work was done in March, 2007. The customer was unhappy with several contractors that provided work on their home in addition to our company. Please note that the roof we installed NEVER allowed water to penetrate it and as a courtesy to the customer we replaced the entire roof along with additional work that was not on the contract.
