Indoor Comfort Heating & Cooling

I noticed that my heat had stopped this afternoon. I called Indoor Comfort about 230 pm. They had someone out by 3 pm. He looked at it for 40 minutes and came back up and told me the circuit board had gone bad. Since they were a Bryant dealer, they didn't have the parts for a Lennox furnace. He recommended I call the Lennox dealer who had installed it. (I had called them first but got only a recording that said leave a message and I wasn't sure if they were even there today or this week. So I called Indoor Comfort since their listing looked like they did emergency and same day work.) Indoor Comfort would not charge me for today's visit. If you have a furnace that needs work, I highly recommend them! If Indoor had the part needed, I think he would have fixed it this afternoon or this evening. As it turned out, my Lennox dealer can try to get here tomorrow morning or Monday.

They put down canvas drop cloths so as not to damage my hardwood floors. Came on time. It was a big job. I went from a 57-year-old forced air furnace with a recently-installed new humidifier, to a Bryant hi-efficiency furnace. This new furnace draws air in from the outside and vents to the outside via PVC pipes. It was a really long run; probably about 45 feet. They had to re-do the way my water heater vented. They had to relocate the humidifier and add a supplemental pump to the way it was previously installed. Because of this they had to obtain and install a special proprietary part on the top of the humidifier, which they didn't charge me for. They worked like beavers and did a beautiful, neat job and cleaned up nicely. they also left me two MERV 15 filters (they have to be replaced about every 6 months.) I really can't say enough good things about this firm. Corey and his helper were great. Kurt, who did the initial analysis and quote was very knowledgeable. I highly recommend this firm. AAA in my opinion.

Very responsive, they show up usually within an hour, and perform excellent work every time. We have been using Indoor Comfort for over 15 years, we would not use anybody else for water heaters and HVAC work.

I first contacted Indoor Comfort several months ago when we were planning our propane to natural gas conversion. We contacted three heating and cooling companies to get quotes, all from Angie's List. Indoor Comfort was the only company willing to convert our existing water heater - the other companies would only replace the water heater. We did not want to replace the water heater since it is only 3 years old, so we selected Indoor Comfort to perform the service. I then consulted with their lead engineer (Greg) on how to best approach the service. Greg suggested that I buy the water heater conversion kit myself, as I would be able to get a better price than what they would need to charge me. I did so. We then scheduled the service including having the gas company (DTE) come to set the meter. The gas company would not set the meter until the hookup was done, so timing was important. The day of service came and the temperature had a high of below zero with windchill. Any sane person would not disconnect a perfectly good furnace when the weather was so cold, but we pressed on with visions of gas savings dancing in our heads. The Indoor Comfort technician (Mark) arrived in the morning as promised and got right to work. He brought a clean pair of shoes so as to not track snow into the house. I already had the water heater drained as they had suggested, so in under two hours he had both the furnace and water heater converted. While he was finishing up, the DTE technician called to say he was on his way. This was welcome news since this meant they could both be there at the same time. Mark finished up and waited in his truck for DTE to arrive. DTE arrived about a half hour later than promised, but Mark did not complain. The DTE tech inspected the house and said he could not set the meter until our gas fireplace was also disconnected. Fortunately Mark had the right part in his truck to disconnect and cap the line to the gas fireplace. The DTE tech set the meter and left. Mark then turned the gas on to the furnace and water heater, and adjusted the pressure on the former. After confirming that we had both hot water and heat, he wrote me a flat rate invoice for $350, even though based on their hourly rate he could have charged me around $550 including the waiting time. Over the course of several months of planning I had probably a dozen calls with their main administrator Tamar, who was very helpful and patient with all my requests. I had a half dozen conversation with the lead tech Greg who was also helpful and patient. The tech performing the work, Mark, was competent and professional. In conclusion they made a somewhat stressful conversion into an easy experience. It was done so quickly that the temperature in the house never dropped below 67 degrees despite the sub zero temperatures outside.

Very courteous and thorough service. It was more expensive than my last company, but I am still pleased.

I was very pleased with the transaction from the beginning of the quote to the completion of the job. They have a good follow up service. I had them come back to explain some of the equipment as well as another small installation.

The people I came into contact with were so professional, courteous, and generous. I scheduled an appointment to fix my tank water heater. Due to loud construction at my complex, I did not hear the technician at the door. Despite this, she (or he) nevertheless checked the meter for my water heater and noted that there was no power. After s/he left, I got a phone call from Tamar at their office, and she updated me on the situation. Basically -- they gave me the info I needed to follow up with DTE Energy and didn't charge me anything for the visit. In addition, this saved me even more risk with regard to DTE, because I would be charged a service fee even if the DTE technician finds that the problem was not due to their meter or power line. I don't even know who this technician is, but thank you. The people here have really earned my trust.

Very knowledgeable, explained thoroughly what he was doing and few small issues he found. Trustworthy and punctual.

He was able to come within 2 days. The weather wasn't too hot, so the extra day wait didn't bother us. The gentleman, Mark, was professional and didn't giving us a list of things wrong. He was honest and helpful on maintenance. He was even considerate of my sleeping child. We also got 10% off for being an Angie's List member

The work was performed over 2 days. The 3 workers were very pleasant and professional. They arrived when they said they would and left the basement neat and clean after the work. When the work was complete, they fully explained the features and answered all of my questions. The system performs very well - the house is much more comfortable summer and winter. I highly recommend them and their work.

The technician arrived on time. He proceeded to check on the condition of our air filter in our basement and reminded us to change our air filter regularly for everything to work properly. Then he went outside to check on the ac unit. Very quickly he was able to find the source of the problem for the ac unit not working. He replaced the blown fuse with a new one. Within minutes our ac unit was working again. We had a great experience with Indoor Comfort. Very professional and knowledgeable.

They did a good job. The price was good. They had to replace the water pump a second time but everything was good.

The service person really knew what he was doing. We had called another company for an itnermittent furnace-not-going-on problem and they came out and relit the pilot light but did not fix the problem. They said it was one of three parts, one of which was quite expensive and wouldn't have been worth fixing on a very old furnace. So we were left not knowing what to do and just kept relighting it with a match for a while. When it wouldn't starta gain, we called this company and they said they thought they knew what the problem was and gave us a quote. When the service person came, he was able to test the old part and knew within about 30 seconds which part was defective. He was able to replace the defective part, even having to make some adjustments since it wasn't exactly right. He was extremely cheerful and really seemed to be enjoying what he was doing. He did leave me with a quote for a new furnace and explained it, but didn't really try to push it. He also came after hours and was very professional. I think he charged more for the overtime call than the quote my husband received but since it was a Friday after 5 pm, I was so happy to have heat for the weekend that I didn't really care that much. I will call this company when I am ready for a new furnace.

The salesman/President Michael was incredibly knowledgeable and pleasant. His crew came a few days later and were superb. The work done was meticulous, and they cleaned up when they left. Super!

Cleaned sensor and replaced motor. Good experience from start to finish. I would use them again.

Went very smoothly. Tthey had a crew of 4 people the day after the quote was accepted. knocked down the old boiler into moveable pieces and put the new one into the basement before noon. install required cutting and replacing numerous 3 inch Iron pipes. The new boiler was totally reverse from the old one. They did a clean job of fitting, testing, and removing the old pieces. Once the system fired up I was amazed at how much pressure and how fast the new boiler put on the pipes and radiators . We haven't had that much steam in the radiators in years. A job well done.

The company came, diagnosed problem, and ordered part on a Friday and installed the new part on the following Monday. The technician said that we could run the A/C in between without damaging any other part. We did use the unit over the weekend and no further damage was done. The repair was done efficiently and professionally.

Our furnace went out during the night on Saturday, and when we woke up it was 59 degrees in the house (and 7 degrees outside). We called Indoor Comfort based on the reviews we read on Angie's List. Their technician, Greg, called us back within 15 minutes. He had a call before ours, but was still at our house within two hours. Greg diagnosed the problem and replaced the igniter and had the furnace running within 15 minutes. We had Hutzel Plumbing and Heating look at the furnace in December, and they felt that we likely needed a new furnace and had a sales person contact us. We discussed this with Greg, and he told us our heat exchanger was warranted for 20 years and told us about issues with the type of igniter that was originally installed in the furnace. He also talked to us about regular maintenance services provided by Indoor Comfort. Overall, we're very happy with our experience with Indoor Comfort. The technician was punctual, knowledgeable, and very informative. In addition, we felt that he truly wanted to fix our problem rather than sell us something we don't really need. We also felt that the cost of service on a Sunday was reasonable.

Should have had furnace cleaned earlier. Very knowledgeable. Did an excellent job. Furnace runs awesome now.
