needed to build a raised garden bed. they were very helpful in deciding the type and size of wood and cutting it so that we didn't have to do it at home.

Some aspects of our experience with Fingerle were great, and other aspects definitely were not.
We recently purchased a house that had been a foreclosure and needs a bit of work, including a new vanity top in the bathroom. The bathroom is too narrow to install a pre-fab vanity in, so a previous owner had created a vanity base out of a vinatge desk. We needed a custom-cut vanity top to fit in this unusual space, so we went to Fingerle to check out our options.
Upon walking in, we met a very friendly and knowledgeable salesperson. She helped us pick out a vanity top material that would look good in our and quot;mid-century modernand quot; retro pink tiled bathroom. She was conscious of cost and answered any questions we had about the materials promptly. To order the vanity top, she told us that we needed to take accurate measurements of the vanity base / bathroom space that the vanity top would be installed in. We then went home, measured all sides of the vanity base, and created a diagram of the measurements. It is also important to note that I told the salesperson during one of our conversations that the house was older (built in the 1950s) so it generally had a lot of funky things going on its layout and construction.
A week after ordering the vanity top, we picked it up and brought it home to install it, only to find out that the vanity top didn't fit. It had a gap of about 3/4 of an inch from the vanity top to the wall at the front of the vanity top, but the back of the vanity top lay flush against the wall. At first we thought that we had measured the vanity incorrectly, but then we looked at the diagram we had provided to the salesperson and saw that we had actually measured the space correctly. The bathroom wall and the vanity did not meet at a 45 degree angle, meaning that the back of the vanity was shorter than the front of the vanity. This was reflected in our measurements on the diagram.
I figured, hey, mistakes happen. It is an odd bathroom layout and the salesperson must not have looked at the diagram we provided her with a high degree of scrutiny because in most houses (or, at least, in newer houses), walls and vanities meet at 45 degree angles. It was an easy mistake to make to assume that the vanity top was a perfect rectangle, so I wasn't angry about it. I just wanted Fingerle to correct it by arranging for Marbelite to shave off a bit of the material at the front of the vanity to allow it to lay flush against the wall. As my husband pointed out, this new vanity top cost more than his first car. So I wasn't about to accept an ill-fitting product.
However, when I contacted the salesperson to let her know that the vanity top did not fit correctly, her friendliness disappeared. She became defensive and stated that Fingerle was not responsible for the error because we didn't verbally inform her about the fact that our vanity was shorter in the back than it was in the front. It had never occurred to me that I needed to discuss this aspect of the measurements with her verbally, as they were there in writing on our diagram. Why ask the homeowners to make accurate measurements on a diagram if you aren't going to look at them closely?
After a bit of back and forth and filing a dispute with my credit card company to threaten to stop payment, Fingerle eventually agreed to pay to have Marbelite shave off a piece of the vanity top.
Now the vanity top fits perfectly and looks great. I am happy with the way it turned out. The salesperson's service up until the point in which we pointed out the error was wonderful. I really liked her. I suspect that the salesperson became defensive because Fingerle's management was not initially interested in making sure that we were satisfied customers, and she had limited options on how to resolve our complaint to our satisfaction. So I think ultimately the issue is with the management's philosophy on customer service. They initially balked at paying a small fee (I think it was around $100) to have Marbelite shave down the vanity top. The cost of their reticence was our future business (worth several $1000). Maybe I am wrong, but I suspect that our issue was resolved to our satisfaction only because I got my credit card company involved in the dispute.

Had difficulty locating a replacement locking mechanism for a sliding glass door. The door/window person (sorry, forgot his name!) was very helpful and saved me several hundred dollars by locating a stock part! They were very helpful on the phone, and responsive. Definitely would go to them again for window/door issues.

That worked out very well for us. My recollection of it was that the price was reasonable, although not cheap. We got a very good product and a very good service but we didn't feel like it was bargain. We were very pleased. It was a very satisfactory service. We love our windows and we are glad that they came up with what they did for one area where they had to do some reconstruction work. The windows are certainly waterproof and clear to see through. They look nice from the inside and outside and the one where we had some reconstruction done, they suggested ideas that have really improved the outlook on that part of our house. They were very professional.

Ordered an Anderson 200 series sliding door from Fingerlee. Door size was large - 96x96. Price on the door was competitive, but service was great. Diana worked with me on several options, models, etc.. and provided multiple quotes via email for me to consider. We went to the show to finalize some selections and Diana was very helpful in the final decisions.
As for installation, we asked for a list of contractors that they typically work with since they will not officially make reccomendations. We selected Mike Gottschalk and are very happy. The quality of the work completed is top notch. Mike will not be the lowest price, but it is a fair price for the detailed work completed and care taken. For example, the angle of the cement sill under the sliding door was angled the wrong direction. Mike indicated that he could leave it since it did not directly impact the installation of the door, but he reccomended fixing it. While there was an added cost, it was about doing things the right way. He ordered the extra parts and came back a couple of days later to fix it.
Overall, good experience and I will be using Fingerlee and Mike for my front door replacement in the next year or two....

It's a little thing but just made my day.
I took in the boards I wanted to replace. The salesman said they would cut it for free and quot;in order to get it into my CRVand quot; even though I told him an 8 foot board would be no problem. You give them your first name and everyone calls you by your first name! I paid for the lumber and the next clerk called the guy to get it for me- wanted to know if I wanted to pick it out. I'm a girl and it was just a board so I said no. Pulled up to the trim shed and he cut both pieces to length- no charge.
Can't find these boards or deck screws at the big box stores. And, when I originally had the work done, Fingerle delivered the lumber for a small fee.
I was done in 5 minutes!

We found them to be quite helpful. We bring a project in, discuss it with them and they will give us advice on what kind of wood to get. They try to make our purchase economical for our use and they cut it right there when we needed it cut. My experience with them was very positive.
