Description of Work: Ernie tuned an old piano we bought on Craigslist at Christmas. It was badly out of tune, as much as a whole note, so he essentially had to tune it twice. I think I am tone deaf and don't play, but my son is so much happier with the piano now. Ernie was friendly and offered more explanations than I could understand. (Wish my son had been home to listen.) He obviously is an expert in his field. I will definitely call him again in a few months for another tuning.

 + -1 moreErnie arrived on time and originally said he didn't think the piano was worth working on but after some tinkering, fixed a major problem and then went ahead and tuned the piano enough so that it was sufficient for me to learn to play on. He was friendly and put extra work in to help my craigslist become and quot;playableand quot;. It's obvious that he is passionate about what he does, and that he comes with a lot of expertise!

 + -1 more5 minutes before Mr. Caviani was to arrive he called to say he would be a little late because he had run into an unexpected problem at a previous clent's location. Just 6 minutes after the appointment time he arrived. I much appreciated the heads up call. Many people will not call for so short a delay. It says to me that Mr. Caviani cares about my schedule as well as his own. The tuning went without a hitch, although a string broke in the process; something that apparently happens when a string is allowed to go quite far out of tune. This will be replaced when a custom string in available in a couple of weeks. I will update this report at that time. Mr. Caviani was very tolerant of my hovering around the piano, and he answered my questions patiently and completely. Now the piano sound great again!

Description of Work: Piano key fixed and piano tuned. Best sound my piano has had in a long time. I've had others tune it in the past, and have never been satisfied. The quality of the sound after Mr Caviani fixed and tuned it is just beautiful. He is delightful to work with, professional, skillful knowledgable and engaging.

 + -1 moreMr. Caviani was punctual and very knowledgable. Our piano had not been tuned in several years since we bought it. He explained what he is going to do and our piano sounds a lot better now. Our kids even noticed the difference since it has been tuned. We will definitely recommend him to others.

Description of Work: Mr. C. arrived and went right to the piano, asked for more light, asked about how the piano is used (lessons, performance, with other instruments). He spent almost an hour tuning each individual note, then chords and eventually playing tunes to make sure the tune was on target. Very polite but efficient. We've used him before and will use him again!

 + -1 moreMy piano is approximately 30 years old and had never been tuned. Ernie was very efficient and effective in bringing the piano back to life. I had to pay an extra charge because more was required than just an average tune up, but the piano sound tremendously better than before. Very nice and professional.
