My Mother has had roofing for some time now. She initially contacted Tom Hammond as soon as the snow melted in March/April of 2015. She never heard from him so in July she called him again and spoke with Tom and he told my Mother that he would be out in a "few weeks", which would have put it in early August to provide her with information/quote as to whether she just needed spot repairs or a whole new roof. Now I will admit that my Mother was not home for approximately 2 weeks (hospital) so I don't know if Tom ever tried during that "few weeks period" or if he left a message for her (although there was nothing in the mail nor on her voice mail as I checked all the mail and messages). With the down pouring rain we had on Sunday, August 23, Mother had water leaking thru her ceiling and was so upset (understandably) because she HAS been trying to get her roof fixed, so I personally called Tom Hammond's number that was posted on Angie's List, 616-895-5426, yesterday, Monday, August 24 @ 8:10 a.m. and I left a voice message that she was still having roofing problems (seriously, if he isn't interested or doesn't want to do the work - just let us know - we can find anyone, all day long to do the work. We shouldn't have to work this hard to get Tom to return a call. Is it really that difficult?). I left my business number and my Mother's home number and asked that he please contact one of us. Neither my Mother nor I ever received a call back from Tom Hammond, and I figured we probably wouldn't, so just in case, I contacted a reputable roofer in Grand Rapids late yesterday afternoon, August 24. They were at my Mother's house this morning, Tuesday, August 25, at 10:00 a.m. Now that is what you call SERVICE! Here we have waited MONTHS for Tom Hammond to return our call, and yet I contacted another company and in less than a day's time, they were out looking at my Mother's house and providing a quotation. Don't waste your time trying to call Tom Hammond because he does not even have the professional courtesy of returning a call - and we afforded him several opportunities - MONTHS - to do so! Absolutely unacceptable. Most Sincerely, Debora Meyer, Grand Rapids, MI
