I do not think you should use Town & Country for any reason at any time. My husband, when he lived here before, used Town & Country and they are the worst group. My two dogs got into a fight and one of them ended up with a broken foot and leg. The only thing they fixed was the broken foot, they did not know about the broken leg. I found a cat up a tree, which my husband got down for me. I took her down there to have her neutered and fixed and everything. She came back with an infected foot. They said it was too bad and it would go away. They gave me pills to give her. Giving pills to a cat is not a fun thing to do. I would definitely not recommend these people for any reason at any time. I had to have another vet straighten things out. The Town & Country people are frightfully expensive. The quality is very bad. When I took my dog in I sat in a cubicle for an hour waiting for somebody to show up. They get around to you when they get around to you, there is no such thing as punctuality there. I did not see much punctuality there. They don't even talk to you, they just come in and say let me have the animal and then they take it away. That is it. You can't even see what they are doing.

elseThey took great care of him! Pumped him full of fluids and called to let me know how he was doing.  It took 24 hours for us to get our cat back.  He was back to normal within a week.  We got so lucky that nothing else happened and that the Town and Country staff were quick to help.  I can't imagine taking my animals anywhere else.

We absolutely love Doc Connell! Our animals love going to his office, and he is so gentle with our fur-babies. My husband & I have been going to him since 2010 and have had 4 German Shepherd Dogs and 3 elderly cats under his care. He is very compassionate and considerate to what is best for the animal as well as the family. He doesn't want to take unnecessary risk or perform tests just to make a buck and feels that taking care of the animal is its own reward. He really wants to find out what is going on with the animal and will ask his contemporaries for their opinion when he wants to get another point of view. He enjoys his patients and their animals.
Another facet of his practice is his equine business. He loves taking care of horses and has specific farm days where he will go to the horse farms to tend to his clients, though if there is a small animal in need, he'll work to fit them in and care of them accordingly.
All in all, there is no other Veterinarian with whom I would work at this point of my life. We actually drive 40 minutes from Grand Rapids to Allegan just to see him. My animals are healthier because they see him.

The office visit that we didnt need was was $28 and the and quot;freeand quot; meds were $25. We don't have money to waste. But all of the vets techs kept running up to see my puppy, because she's beautiful, and asking me questions and I got confused at checkout didn't realize I was being way overcharged. I made it very clear on the phone, in person to the receptionist, and to the vet tech that I was only there for shots. When the vet came in, I assumed that the vet tech brought the vet in because she had to administer the shots. The vet techs were nice and knowledgeable but distracting, bringing out people to see my pup when i was trying to check out, etc. There was a vet tech named Joanie who was particularly helpful. As for the vet, since she was there, I had one question and she did not take me seriously. She didn't believe me because she thought a cute puppy would never do what I described. I guess that's what cost $28. We've been going to town and country for more than 20 years. But they've really been letting us down for the last few years and its time for a change. This is why I went elsewhere for the first puppy exam. I was only taking her to town and country for 2nd injections because I was in town and it was convenient.
