In early April, we bought a used Subaru Forester from this dealer. They are widely known as a used Subaru dealer and even have their own Subaru junkyard for discounted parts.  Our only concerns with the car we bought were the tires, which were fairly worn, and the mileage, (approx 175 K). The salesman assured us the tires had at least 10 K miles left to be within inspection and that the car was serviced recently and the timing belt was replaced and their own mechanic had been over it and they could see nothing else wrong. It drove okay and out of the 4 or 5 cars we test drove, it was the one we chose. There was an after-market warranty plan offered for approx $1275 by a third party that we later researched and found to be very poorly rated and in fact, sued in several states for non-payment and breach of contract. Long story short, after driving it for only 6600 miles, the front end shook so much it was scary, and we felt the car unsafe at speeds over 40 mph. I called and brought the car in to Norm's and to be fair, I got off on the wrong foot by mentioning I knew the lemon laws in Maine been involved in lemon law suits before so I knew the rules, but I calmed down and apologized and asked them to check it out. They gave me a loaner and later that day the manager let me know that it was BOTH front cv joints that failed and they'd fix it for $420 dollars. I said that the car hadn't even gone 18,000 miles yet (the lemon law limit) and they said they weren't  going to eat the charge and someone had to pay or the car would not be released by him to leave the lot. Now it wasn't worth the $420 to try to get to arbitration or court, especially since I needed it to go to a funeral the next day ( a fact I told them when I dropped it off). They did offer me a discount on the 3rd party warranty ( the bad one) but I declined. I paid for the cv work done and thanked the service team, but I will not ever shop for a car there again.

I went to them last week. They get A's across the board. I called in the morning and told them my car inspection has expired and I need to get it in and he said would you like to get it done today and he said I will see you at 1:00.

We continue to use him because we've been satisfied. We haven't had any complaints. They get back to us in a timely manner most of the time. They are reliable and trustworthy.
