Crockett Furniture

We felt high pressure sold into buying a special ordered, top grain leather sofa from what we were told was a high end furniture manufacturer in the midwest. We initially stated that we did NOT want to spend several thousands of dollars on a sofa but in the end, that's what we did, and we trusted this retailer and the sales associate. We were told the furniture would arrive early November... later, that became mid November then "by Thanksgiving". Each time we would call, we were given a story about how the "global financial problems are making it difficult for the manufacturer to receive the "very best leather that meets their high standards"... We were eventually told that the sofa and ottoman we'd purchased would arrive by Christmas... CHRISTMAS!!! and that they were "99.99% certain" of this... ....Still, we trusted them and accepted the fact we would need to wait. Finally, in late November, we received a call that the leather we'd ordered did not exist... some story this time about how they simply couldn't find it (the manufacturer), and that we could re-order, basically starting the process all over again. Only at this point did we realize what we were dealing with. Going back to see other online reviews, we realized this business has had upset customers before. We were left feeling defrauded and like we'd been lied to. A week from Thanksgiving and with family coming, we did not have the items we were willing to pay so much money for, because we'd chosen to believe what this business and their sales associate told us about the quality and delivery time, etc. etc. My feelings toward and warnings of this business don't come from being upset over not receiving a sofa on time (these are 1st World problems after all.). My issue is the trust we placed in them and the complete lack of respect and honesty we received, and that's why I would caution and warn others to shop around and perhaps even to stay clear all together of this small business with shady practices when it comes to ordering furniture through them. :'-(
