I had a water leak and clogged drain repaired on my central air conditioner. The technician, Tony, who provided the service, was very professional. He arrived at the scheduled time. He was very friendly, polite, and courteous. For example, he put on special covers over his shoes to keep from tracking any dirt into the house and onto the carpet. He was very knowledgeable and he provided full explanations of exactly what the problems were and how to fix them. He also did a very good job of explaining exactly what the charges would be for him to make the repairs, and he stuck to what he had quoted. He thoroughly cleaned up the area he had been working in, and also cleaned the bathroom sink area where he had to rinse out some of the AC pipe he had to clean. He did everything he said he would do and completely solved the problem I was having. I was very satisfied, even though this was an unexpected expense.

I liked their punctuality. They were familiar with the unit that I had in the house. They could quickly get the parts that I needed. I was not at home so I could not sign the contract. They were able to do everything by fax. I authorized them to get the parts by fax. I emailed them to get all the paper work done. They were here when they said they were going to be. They got the parts when they said they were going to get them. They offered to put space heater in my house at their expense. That’s because it was cold and they didn’t want me to be without heat. They were very concerned. The overall quality of their work was excellent. I would definitely use them in the future.

After some initial confusion, I received a personal call from Rick, the owner of Olympic Aire. He personally arranged to visit my home and provide details of their proposal for replacing my Furnace/Heat Pump system. He was prompt, courteous, and very professional. Obviously proud of his business and their commitment to customer service. He answered all of my questions, and provided two separate proposals. The proposals include some services that competing companies who had submitted estimates were not providing. He was honest in his appraisal of various features, recommending some, and advising against others. I am currently reviewing several estimates and will make a decision within a few days. If I decide to have Olympic do the work, I will update this report once the work has been completed. I was pleased with the presentation, and would recommend them. Update after installation: I decided to go with Olympic Aire after meeting with Rick. He offered several incentives that made the deal attractive, including extending the initial warranty on the equipment. Also included in the price was cleaning of the existing air ducts. I contracted with them to install a Carrier Infinity System. The system included the heat pump, indoor electric air handler, humidifier, and UV light, and a new Infinity thermostat. Olympic guaranteed a 2 day installation, and they met that commitment. The first day was primarily taking out the old equipment, with installation of the new on the second day. All of the Olympic techs that I dealt with were professional and friendly. They were as non-intrusive as possible given the work that had to be done, and took reasonable care to avoid making a mess. Cleanup of the area following installation was done well. There were one or two glitches that turned out to be minor. For example: It was extremely hot on the day of the final installation, so when all was completed and the techs left, I was anxious to see how well the house would be cooled. After nearly two hours, I did not notice any difference in the indoor temperature. A quick check discovered that the vent covers that were replaced after the air duct cleaning were all installed with the vents closed, allowing no air flow. Once I opened all of them, the system cooled the house down quickly. One other minor problem involved the condensate pump which began to leak shortly after the installation. Olympic quickly took care of this situation. They were and have been very responsive to my requests. All in all my experience with Olympic Aire has been positive, and I would recommend them to anyone looking to have HVAC work done.

Aside from the price being high for only about half an hour of work, I have no qualms. To be fair, he did have to travel about 30 miles or more to get here and I haven't found anybody who will even come for a trouble call for less than a hundred.

At the time they gave me the estimate they told me they would fix gaps in some French doors and some other doors and it was never done. I thought it was sort of misleading. I think they made promises that they didn't keep. They are a local company. I don't think heat pumps work that well anyway because I am always cold. I didn't have a comparison on the price. The installation of the heat pump was fine but they made promises that were not kept and they stained my carpeting.

They were super and I would use them again.

My air conditioning wasn't working: it was blowing room-temperature air. Because of the heat wave in DC, I wasn't able to make a next-day appointment, but Tony was available the following day. He showed up right on time, went with me to the roof to examine my HVAC unit. He immediately noticed the capacitor was blown and went down to his van to get a replacement. He installed it quickly, and we verified the air conditioning was working again. I liked the flat-fee pricing, though it ended up being a little expensive (I thought) for a 20-minute capacitor replacement. The technician was very friendly and helpful, though, and answered questions I had about other HVAC issues (e.g. how hard it would be for me to replace my thermostat on my own). Considering the value to me of having working air conditioning, it was well worth it.

They are great and the price that they charged was good. They were here on time and got the job done within the time that they said they would get it done. We had a couple of different contractors who had come out to give bids and the other contractors weren’t comfortable with the job. However, Olympic Aire Services came out and they were able to make everything happen. We really appreciated their attitude about getting things done.

Our 16 year old (original to our house) A/C unit completely quit working on Memorial Day weekend. It was about 6:00PM on Sunday 5/24 when this happened. We called 2 other companies for help, one call was answered by a machine, the other was an answering service. The person at the answering service told us that someone would call us back shortly. After waiting 2 hours, we called back. The poor answering service employee didn't really know what to tell us but needless to say, nobody ever called back. Our third attempt was on Memorial Day morning to OLYMPIC AIRE SERVICES - thank God! Tony Distefano came out just a short while after our call. He was very professional & informative. Our new heating and A/C system was installed on Thursday 5/28 much to our great happiness. They also cleaned all of our ductwork. We had a concern with a light covering of condensation on a small area of the equipment after the first day or two. Called them up and Harry came out the same day, explained what was happening and installed a vent so that our mechanical closet is now also air conditioned which eliminates the possibility of any condensation in the future. Everybody we dealt with at OLYMPIC AIRE SERVICES was kind, pleasant, professional and helpful and more than happy to answer any and all questions.

If this was a electric HWT this would have been a DIY project but NG goes boom if you mess up vs. blowing a circuit breaker ;) The two techs were very professional and their pipe work was clean.

Did an excellent job and have no problems with unit.
