AROCON Roofing & Construction

Went well. Jason educated me about the roof, how it was built and how a newer roof adheres to the newer codes, which makes the roof more durable. He flushed out the gutter, and restabilized it. I feel confident in Jason's work and will hire Arocon again.

I took off work early to meet them at my house. No one ever showed up to my home so I called them and asked where they were. They said they called and told me they had forecasted there was going to be rain and wanted to reschedule. I never received that call. Once someone did come out, the guy was very inexperienced and he didn’t have shingles with him to perform the roof tune up. While he was doing the gutter clean up, he damaged a down spout. He told me he needed a nail gun to finish work and he had to come back the next day and he never did. I ended up fixing it myself.

I have a different roof then what the Big Deal specifies for.

Overall, the service was excellent. However, due to the trajectory of the roof, an additional fee was added. The technician who conducted the inspection was very professional, explained the process and performed the service in an exceptional manner. After the service was completed, he provided a written overview of the services that were performed and included areas of future concern.

I am very please with the roofer AROCON provided, Will was very knowledge and courteous... He explained all that he was going to check and repair. He informed me about the structure of my dwelling and made some recommendation on what I can expect. I am very happy with the service he provided.

This August the third floor roof leaked around the fireplace and also in the ceiling. I called Arocon on August 13th to come out and take a look at the roof since I knew it was under warranty. Arocon said they would get someone out on Saturday the 16th. I told them that we would be home until 2PM but after that we had family committments and wouldn't be there. No one showed up on the 16th. We didn't hear anything from them Sunday or Monday. I called them Tuesday August 19th to ask what happened. I was told someone did come to my house and inspected the roof and that there was nothing wrong with the roof but the fireplace flashing needed to be replaced and that was causing the leak. I told them I wanted to speak to the roofer but they told me that wasn't necessary. They said they would call me back and set up an appointment to schedule a person to come out and give me an estimate on how much replacing the flashing would cost. No one called back. I called again on August 28th. Linda told me someone would be out on September 25th between 8-10. No one showed up. I called back and got Sara who said I needed to talk to Laurie. She said Laurie would call me back. I waited until 2PM and then I called Laurie who said she didn't take care of "new" repairs and that I needed to talk to Linda. I got transferred to Linda who said she was "So sorry, someone should have called me back this morning to tell me that because of the rain on Saturday 'old business takes precedence over new business.'" I told her I was "old business." I started this process a month ago. Linda told me that she couldn't get anyone out to my house until September 25th. I told her this was unacceptable. I've waited long enough and she said, "Feel free to call another roofer." Obviously, this company is doing so well,it doesn't need my business. But I would caution anyone considering hiring Arocon for a new roof--- because after the roof is on, they want nothing to do with you. I have been a member of Angie's List for years. I use it for all kinds of services and this is the first time I've written a bad review. I hope this review helps other members in search of a roofer, and I hope it makes Arocon realize just how bad their customer service is.

They told me my roof’s pitch was too tall. There would have been a big price difference. There should have been a disclaimer that some roofs would not qualify or would have an extra charge for a steeper pitch. Their estimate was based off of googling my home.

Jason was awesome! He arrived on time and did a very thorough job explaining everything. He was very friendly and didn't try to sell me services I didn't need. I will definitely be calling Arocon when I do need to replace my roof.

Their agent Will Moore was punctual and accommodating. He went over all aspects of his service and then went over all the things he found as concerns. He brought to my attention I could schedule for a free estimate on the issues he found and I greatly appreciate that. I look forward to that follow up estimate and seeing if it fits my budget to have done by this company

Will Moore respond on time , preformed a roof tune up and took pictures of roof condition. He was very professional and courteous.

A+ service from beginning to end. They are competitively priced and offer a great product with a transferable warranty. I have to say they were pleasant to work with!

Chris Y was our service provider, and he was punctual and knowledgable. He thoroughly inspected the roof, attic and gutters and gave recommendations that seemed reasonable, affordable and appropriate. He was never pushy, and was incredibly courteous and trustworthy. We look forward to working with him and Arocon roofing again in the future.

Will, the technician, came by a little early (which was excellent) and did a thorough inspection of the attic and the roof and took extensive pictures of the roof so that I could see what the problem (or problems were). As it turns out, he let me know that the water issues I was having were *not* as a result of the roof. Now -- unfortunately, as fate would have it, the roof itself is in bad shape and will need to be addressed, but I feel much better informed and can make a reasoned decision because of the information that Will was able to provide me as a result of his thorough check.

Working with Arocon was one of my more frustrating contractor experiences. When I first purchased the deal, through Angie's list, I called the office to schedule. She first looked up my house on google maps to see the type of roof. She said - oh, it's a steep roof (not abnormally so, it's the same type as every other roof in our neighborhood). I asked if that would be a problem? She said, no, she didn't think so - - they may just not be able to "walk the roof." I explained that we had just had other work done on the roof, so I didn't really care about the inspection part - just wanted the gutters cleaned. OK, shouldn't be a problem. She puts a note in my account (this was verified by the first technician) with this information. I travel a fair amount, but I work from home two days a week. Scheduling was difficult and we picked a date about a month out - early August. On the agreed-upon date (which was a Wednesday, this is relevant later), Mark Bruno arrived at my house at the scheduled time, which was late afternoon. So far, so good. He takes one look at my roof and says "ut oh - this is too steep." I explained the conversation I'd had with the office. He said that they had recently been told not to do steep roofs at all. It's possible this instruction came after my scheduling, since there was such a lag. He promised to get in touch with the office first thing Thursday morning and confirm that he would do the work, and then call me back. He'd come on Friday (the next time I was working from home). OK, I understand things happen and policies change, and since he committed that he'd do the work, I was fine to postpone. No call on Thursday. I call on Friday and get a weird voice mail. I leave a message but also call the office. They confirm the phone number (apparently he'd never changed the voice mail recording from the guy who had the number prior) and say they'll have him call me back. So we do finally talk, and he has hurt his back and cannot come. I called the office and they assured me he'd come on Saturday afternoon. OK... Nothing on Saturday. Now I start calling regularly. Of course, to make it more fun, I had to leave on Tuesday for a week retreat in the woods - - with very spotty reception. I called, they called me back, I missed the call, etc. Every message I left asked them to call me back on my cell phone. On Thursday I get a note from my spouse that they'd called at home and were planning to come Friday afternoon. They did come, sent a guy named Will Moore. He (apparently - I wasn't there) was great. Very nice, thorough, did a good job. So he gets the gold star, the rest of the company gets the F.

My initial meeting with this company was through Angie's List to inspect the roof. Based on this, I agreed to replace my roof -- a project that was performed on time, without a hitch and the contractors connected with the project (Dan), took special care to be sure I was happy with the finished work in 2014. Then, I gave them an A+ rating. I decided to return to them for the insulation, but it didn't go as well. The consultant mapped out a plausible design that would include insulating and allowing some space for storage. I agreed, putting 1/3 down mid-August. After waiting until October to get on the schedule, I was postponed until later in the month only to be rescheduled again to the final week. The storage project was professionally done and the thick insulation placed in a day. Overall, it was a 3 day project that didn't conclude without a couple hitches. A clock was knocked to the floor in the bathroom gouging the countertop on the way down. A ceiling recessed light was also knocked from its housing requiring digging the remaining piece out of the socket. Additional money was spent to replace the clock housing, replace the recess light along with tools to take out the embedded socket. I'm not sure if the countertop crack can be repaired. I may have to live with it. I look forward to a warmer winter with the new insulation and the previous roof replacement from Arocon, but turnaround time to complete, and destruction of property that was realized after-the-fact and not from the contractors, has put me on notice for any future contracts with them.

We had what we thought was a small leak in our roof and purchased their $99.00 Roof Tune Up special from Angie's List. The technicians, Jason Easton and Jesse B., arrived on time, (even a little early), and were professional and courteous. They did an extremely thorough inspection of our roof and attic, even taking pictures to show the problem areas. He took time to explain all of the details thoroughly and patiently answered all of my questions. He and Jesse then went on the roof to not only fix the leak, but proceeded to fix other problem areas throughout the entire roof that could potentially cause leaks in the future. After spending a couple of hours making repairs and talking with me, Jason graciously offered to re-explain everything to my husband or send him an email with all of the information. They were very forthcoming and honest, but definitely were not hard-pressure sales guys which I appreciated. This is the second roofing company we had contacted for this repair and I wished we would have called them first!

The job went outstanding! My tenant is very pleased with the results of the repair and I was please with the price and outcome.

I was unable to reach them before the deal was purchased to ask specific questions. The company told me that the pitch of my roof put it outside the perimeter of a walkable roof. Therefore, the deal could not be applied. I have requested a refund for this.

I purchased the Big Deal for the Gutter Cleaning and Repair after another company didn't feel that they could do an effective repair for a comparable price. Arocon was very fast to respond to my inquiry and just as flexible when it came to scheduling. They tech showed up right at the early part of the window they gave me. Will showed up to perform the work. He was very pleasant and professional. He walked with me around the house and listened to my concerns. As I pointed them out he addressed how he was going to fix them. He also explained that he was going to inspect the roof, attic, and gutters and let me know if he found any issues. I let him get to work and once complete he walked around with me again to show what he had done and what he had found during his inspection. I was more than satisfied with the work he did especially after the other company didn't feel it could do an effective repair for a similar price. Will pointed out some things that he felt should be addressed at some point and explained why, but this was not a sales pitch, just an honest opinion and I felt very comfortable with everything he explained. I would definitely have Arocon out to perform work again and have already scheduled an appointment for them to give me an estimate on some additional projects. If I have more work done I would hope they would send Will out again.

I chose Arocon to remodel 2 bathrooms and replacement of an exterior door in my house based on excellent work they did several years ago repair a leak in our roof. Unfortunately this job did not go well at all. Arocon subcontracted the work to a sub-contractor which then subcontracted the work to other subcontractors. Unfortunately when I reached out to Arocon to describe issues that were occurring on the job, there was little sense of ownership and remediation was deferred to the subcontractor chain that was the main problem. The project was estimated to take ~ 3 weeks and ended up taking 3 months. During that time we experienced numerous quality issues such as: * Walls were painted with a 1" diameter hole in the wall * The hole was corrected with drywall and painted over again - however there was still a large crack due to the amount of drywall that was put in place so it had to be painted again. I believe the walls of both bathrooms had to be painted 4 times each due to lack of appropriate preparation. * Something fell on the new tub in one bathroom putting a large chip in the enamel. This was repaired with latex paint by the a sub-sub-contractor hoping that it wouldn't be noticed. When Arocon to inform them of this, they did have somebody come out to repair the damage. * The master bath was painted without a drop cloth over the new tile floor which of course led to paint splatters all over the floor which then had to be cleaned. * The tub in one bath was not affixed to the floor and would move if lightly pushed. The subcontractor onsite insisted this was correct way to install until I contacted the manufacturer of the tub to provided guidance on how to install the tub correctly. * No effort was made to keep dust out of the house. We were not able to sleep in our bedroom for a month and had to spend a full weekend cleaning up after the contractors finally left to remove the thick layer of drywall dust/etc in our bedroom. * I've had to correct numerous issues since the project was completed including wall fixtures that weren't properly anchored, caulking a shower (that wasn't caulked) and other items that weren't done or were done sloppily. As these were simple tasks I did them myself instead of having to take time off from work for the contractor (or subcontractor) to come repair what was done. * I likely will have to replace the exterior door as it was mis-measured before being ordered and the lower weather seal is rubbing on the carpet when it is opened causing wear on both the carpet and weather seal which has started to split. * As noted above, when I expressed issues or concerns to people at Arocon it was just passed onto the subcontractor. As my contract was with Arocon, they should have taken a more active role in the project - especially once it was obvious that it was not going well. All in all it was an extremely unpleasant experience. Update based on the response from Arocon - I did notify Arocon numerous times via phone and email of the issues that were occurring during the project. I am not aware of any discounts that were provided to me (there has been no communication since my initial review was posted).

Awesome service very professional and personable did a great job

Jesse Brossoit was extremely diligent and professional. He took photos of the roof and explained me the repairs he made and which were the problems with my roof. It was a great service and I will use Aracon for future roof work.
