AROCON Roofing & Construction

Very poor outcome. The salesman was excellent, except what he sold was not what we got. He said they would cover the house with a tarp to prevent screen damage, use a high quality underpayment, and place 6 nails in each shingle. They did not cover the house with tarp in the back, resulting in broken screens. (They fixed them, but it took us walking around to find all the damage and email them with photos.). They used a black paper that rips on the rear of the house. When we arrived they were placing shingles over it. We called the office immediately & they took that off and put the paid for thicker underpayment on. But who can trust a company like that? (If you do use them, be prepared to stand outside and watch.). They placed 3 nails in each shingle most of the time. When I would come outside of the house, they would shout out in Spanish "she is here, 5!" and then a rhythm of 5 nails per shingle would happen. Never 6. And the final kicker? Less than 7 days after they replaced the roof and gutters, the facia on the side of the roof began blowing off in pieces. After emailing and calling with no response, a later call got a promise they would come out to assess it. They came out to repair the screens, told me they didn't replace that part of the roof (which I knew) and also did not cause that damage (though one end of that metal was initially under where the new gutter was!), but they could send someone out to estimate the cost for repairing it. No way I would enter into any further work from this company. We will pay our roof off and hope that no service calls are needed. We paid several thousand dollars more for this company expecting higher quality than the other companies who gave us estimates. Wrong decision.

The process was initially easy and convenient and scheduling was quick. I could not be home that day, but they indicated it was not necessary. When I got home, I saw that they used hangars that did not match the existing gutter system. When I raised this, I had to send pictures, then they ordered the parts. Things went slowly at this point, but the new hangars were used to replace the mis-matched ones eventually. Unfortunately, they had to lower the gutters with the new hangars, apparently since there is some molding in the way, and the end result is not very attractive and does not appear to take advantage of the 6" gutter capacity. They never contacted me to discuss the issue when the team came back to make the change in hangars. When I emailed the owner, he did not respond. I decided to just pay my bill and move on - I'll get it fixed when I replace the roof in a year or so. Disappointing quality as a result.

The service I purchased allowed up to 10 roofing sheets of shingles to be replaced. They replaced 12 at no extra charge.

Arcon called me and scheduled the same day we purchased the deal! Roof "tune-ups" must take a second priority--understandable--because they could only fit us in 2 weeks out. Then it stormed that day, and the re-schedule was again two weeks from then. No problems rescheduling or contacting them, and they answered very professionally--there is a woman who does just scheduling, I believe. Fortunately, we weren't having leaks, so no harm done. I got a call the afternoon before, both times. On the day the inspector was due out, I called because I'd forgotten there was a time slot--10:30am to 1pm, and she reminded me. Hunter O'Reilly, their inspector, arrived after 11, but before 1. Mr. O'Reilly is a gold-plated character--funny, smart, chatty, and sure knows his job. He scampered up his ladder and climbed the roof like a squirrel, took a couple dozen pictures as he caulked and hammered. The slipped shingles got put back in place. When he got down again, we chatted about a very tiny and very occasional annoying leak we get with the imperfectly-installed skylights, and talked it out for a while. He recommended not doing any work on it until it really becomes an issue (has only happened twice). So--no sales pitch to stand through. Mr. O'Reilly then filled out an extensive inspection form, we signed it, and he went on his way. No extra charges for the extended discussion of the skylight issue. I agreed with his common-sense assessments, based on my background in engineering. If the skylight becomes a real problem, I would definitely call Arcon. By the way - I usually go out of my way to offer water on hot days, and thank vendors profusely if they really do a good job. If you are kind to them, they will likely be as well and try harder for you. ;)

It went very well. Scheduling was easy, the technician, Hunter, was on time, he was thorough and he cleaned up when he was done. He pointed out various things about my roof and gutters (all were in good shape) and made a couple of minor repairs.

Very professional, he took lots of photos to show me the areas of my roof that need work. He explained why I need a new roof (I suspected that), but no pressure to buy one.

My experience with AROCON was excellent. Their technician Hunter arrived on time, was extremely friendly and very professional. He explained what he was going to do and went right to work. When he finished, he showed me photos of my entire roof and explained everything he had done. He replaced the shingle, caulked some flashings and conducted a thorough inspection of my roof, gutters, etc. Hunter provided exceptional service and I would call upon them for future work and would recommend them to my neighbors.

Got full report orally and written. Assured me that roof was in good condition. Explained minor repairs and sent before/ after photos to my email.

It took a little longer than desired to get the work started and they missed a section of gutters but they came back to fix what they missed. The work was done professionally and they were courteous and helpful. It went great overall.

It ,took a month to get the appointment scheduled, which was the only negative. Tim arrived on time as scheduled, was polite and professional. The main office that scheduled had originally said he would have to come back a different time to replace the fascia, but Tim measured the damaged piece, went out to a nearby Lowe's to get a replacement, and finished both the roof tune up and fixing the missing fascia. We were missing 3 roof shingles and needed a new collar for a vent pipe, and he even fixed the soffit which was loosened by the same storm. All was done for the initial deal cost, plus only $50 for the flashing. We've had others out before that charged double what we paid this time for only replacing shingles.

Marvelous, service was scheduled for 10 AM and the man showed up at 8:30, got it done effectively and quickly.

It took almost two months for them to complete the job. Delay after delay. This is the only reason that I have given them a bad score.

I haven't received a final bill as of yet but was told the cost of my roof tune-up would be $99. I'm glad I had the work done as numerous pictures did show my roof needed some attention. I would definitely consider Arocon for a complete roof replacement.

AROCON was accommodating to move my appointment to later in the morning. This was due to a last minute obligation that I could not avoid. Hunter was on-time for the new time. He was professional, courteous, and customer service oriented. He showed in pictures what he found and explained it in layman's terms. He caulked where needed and replaced vent pipe boots. I would bring him and AROCON back for any other roof and gutter work.

Arocon provided a free assessment of our roof and gutters. The specialist arrived early (but not too early) and immediately got to work.
